I’m surprised it didn’t hurt my hand till after 20ish rounds. Then again I switched back and forth between a 40 caliber and this gun. I absolutely love it!

Congratulations to Smith & Wesson, it's a fantastic piece!

The Hogue rubber grips completely changes the feel of this gun (in a good way)!

It really is an exceptional “do it all” gun.
They’re all kind of like shoes as far as fit. My Hogue makes my glove fit like a hand !…?
With it’s versatility, you could train on a steady diet of wadcutters, become comfortable and proficient without ever having to put a 357 load through it.
Leave the 357’s in it on the nightstand.
Wait a moment…..let the “you won’t know what it’s going to do if you haven’t fired a 357 out of it” crowd die down……..
Yes, I was a LEO……I got lucky and never had to pull the trigger. ….but several of my partners did…..
The most common denominator was 1. They couldn’t come close to knowing how many rounds they fired….and 2. What recoil ?
You will never feel it in a self-defense shooting.
So be familiar with your firearm, practice and be safe.

nice video and review, i have the same gun. i originally bought it for my wife but she didn't like it after a while. i found it to be much more comfortable to shoot and much more accurate than the airweights and LCR's. i'm also a fan of the matte finish and the wooden grips and i've also heard that the 60-14 LS has a lighter trigger than the regular model 60 which is like getting a factory trigger job for free.

I have the exact same gun. the size of my smaller hands put my knuckle right behind the trigger guard and busted my knuckles every time. I replaced grips with hogue made of nylon instead of rubber. The grips filled in the space behind the trigger and tamed the kick.

I'm sure the 357 would be slightly heavier, but I would get 357, just so you can still shoot 38 and work your way up instead of only being limited to 38

What do you mean about t hurting your hand? What hurts? The only gun I've ever fired that was painful was a older shotgun. It hurt my shoulder. Other than that I have a .38 and fired several types of ammo and
never had issues with it being painful. It was a Taurus. I'm trying to learn. Please advise.

@Hawker75 I have the 642 air weight Ladysmith. I put on a set of to the original Smith skinny wood grips. I'm a 6'-220 guy. But I've always wanted a Ladysmith. I didn't realize I was buying a Ladysmith until I was doing the paperwork. It was only $30 more than the regular models of J frames the store had. They only had 1 other 642. It had the rubber grips. I was going to get that one, but the grips were buggered up. So I picked the rosewood gripped Ladysmith. I just didn't like the grips after I got her home. Too slick and fancy for me honestly. I've always liked the ole factory wood grips. Found a new set for under $40. Not the best to fire with, but they do hide better and have some checkering on them. And I just like the classic look. She rides in a cheap Blackhawk pocket holster or in a Galco leather concealable hip holster. She loves going on walks with me and out to eat or run errands. It's my always gun and always stays close to me. I do rotate ammo. I use both regular velocity and plus P. Just depends on my mood. Just a great little gun. I'm getting older and more beat up as life goes on. I carried large, heavy autos for years most of the time. She only holds 5:rounds, but I carry extra ammo. And I love 38's. Always have. Got 3 total at this moment. An older Rossi 88 stainless snub and a new Rock island 4 inch barrel. The Rossi is a late 90's model. It's a pre-Taurus Rossi. I tell you what, it's built better than the new Smiths! Pinned barrel, wide hammer and solid as a tank. Got the gun,300 rounds of assorted 38 ammo, speed loaders and 2 holsters for $300. The RIA I just bought. It was on sale. Was marked $250. But the sale price was$200. It had one chamber way out of time when I bought it. But RIA very quickly paid for all shipping and repairs. Got it back in 3 weeks. It's perfect now. And it feels like it has a custom action job. They are a light duty gun. But I couldn't turn it down at that price. And I was wanting a 4 inch barrel 38.

      Pachmayr "Compact" grips.
It's the one that's been around since at least the 1960s. No finger grooves. Has a grove at butt for your pinky.
Its bulbous in shape. Covers the back strap. It fits both large and small hands very nicely. Excellent low/no print during CC.
I've tried a ton of grips. This model Pachmyr is a real jem.

I agree. I've seen too many 380's malfunction. Most are very ammo sensitive. A 38 snub eats everything you feed it normally.
