my dad was a songwriter he recently passed away. but that is the first song i can remember hearing him sing as a child. very nice. and such a pleasant voice very easy on the ears.
Stacy, you have such an amazingly pure voice, Alison Krauss has nothin' on you, great job on this, I would love to hear you multi-track it and sing the harmony against your lead vocal on the chorus, that would be super-sweet, I'm sure nobody can sing harmony with you like you yourself can, take care, and keep singing and playing, i'll certainly keep tuning in
Gorgeous, Stacy. Loved listening to this. Forget the fancy pan and zooms. Who needs it as a distraction when the quality of your performance is this good. Best wishes, JCRS
Love it! One of my favorite gospels. I'm so glad you sang it for us. 500 stars, added to favorites and playlist. Your voice and singing are getting better and better Stacy. :-)
Lovely Singing Stacy, you definitely have the voice and talent of playing to excel. Get an agent and push forward in life. Dont let you" songbird voice" and talent go unheard.Have Faith in you. ty, later, 100-100
Thank you so much. There is actually an alternate second verse that I came across that differs from the one that I sang. That's often the case with these old songs that have so many covers.
I LOVE THIS SONG, It has been a real blessing to me for a long time now, I've never heard it sung more beautiful, JESUS CHRIST has given you an awesome talent. Always honour GOD with the gift that HE's given to you. May GOD BLESS YOU and YOURS ALWAYS. AMEN.
Wow - beautiful version of this song. I've been reviewing different ones on here because I am playing it at a funeral service next weekend. I liked yours best. Great job!
Thank you so much, Jimmy. I could multitrack it with my mixer and record it as just audio, but I wouldn't know how to begin doing it with video. I know some people do lots of fancy overdubbing with You Tube videos :). I'm not that advanced. I have a sister who has a spectacular ear for harmony and a rich, Patsy-esque tone to her voice and she typically sings my harmonies with me.
Thank you very much :). As a matter of fact, I do have a CD available (if you're an Alison fan, you'll enjoy the banjo work on my record as it was done by Ron Block of Union Station). I have four videos full of footage taken in the studio while I was recording my CD. I have web addresses in my info here on my channel to my My Space profile, as well as my official website, both of which have a place to listen to some of the tunes from my record and info on ordering it. Thanks again!
Great job on this classic, I've never heard that second verse done before. I just assumed there were only two verses, guess because that's all I've ever heard sung.
Thank you so much :). You can buy the CD through paypal at my website (no paypal account required) or you can download the CD through iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon, Napster, or eMusic. Thanks for all your support!
I like your singing, your speaking voice too, but the point of the story is that aside from The Stanley Brothers this is my favorite version of this song on here.
I'm a young man (24) So I'm a bit odd in my love for bluegrass and old country...I nearly never comment on Videos, but this is the first time I heard this girl sing. My mouth dropped! This is simply AMAZING! I was originally looking for Ralph Stanley but this version is way better. This woman sings WAY better than Allison Kraus. Does she have a CD??
@stacywv haha Yes! I've watched your vids for over a year and finally set up an acount last night! This is gonna sound crazy! You've covered everything I plan to cover and we need to be vertual best friends!
I should've also added that we're hoping to get together a tour in Europe, so hopefully we'll be coming to your neck of the woods in Summer 2010. Help spread the word and my music. The more interest there is, the more likely that we'll be able to go over there!
Wow Stacy. This is so beautiful. You do have the voice of an angel.....Very nice to listen to. 5***** and shared. Please check us out at the CJC. Regards, Paul.
I have watched this video many times over the years and it's still one of my favorite versions of this song. Thank you so much for this.
Thank you for making my great grandmother's funeral that much more beautiful.🙏
my dad was a songwriter he recently passed away. but that is the first song i can remember hearing him sing as a child. very nice. and such a pleasant voice very easy on the ears.
Stacy, You have a voice that was made to sing gospel music. You are truely gifted! It just doesn't get any better than this.

O yeah that makes sense, hadn't considered alternate verses.
you're looking like Marie Antoinette singing at Versailles before the revolution .. lol.. but I'm sure she didn't have such a rich gift as your voice.
