I felt the same way after trying my first 1.1 mm stub on my TWSBI Mini. I like the snap cap on the Prera and I’m going to use the large Pilot cartridge and just syringe ink in there.
Great question! I’ve had this pen for over a year now and also other Pilot pens. No change in the way the nib behaves. That’s another reason I love fountain pens! The nib consumption is way low compared to dip pen nibs that I’m wearing down constantly!!! Are you thinking about getting one????
@@KitchenCounterCrafts I already have the Pilot Prera Calligraphy which I like a lot in terms of writing. It's just a little bit crispy and requires a lot of attention during writing. Nice! I bought a Prerra a few months back on a whim, but in a medium. I love my metro and this pen is great too but I don’t use it. I’m planning on giving away. Pocket pens are great for carrying around along with a journal so they have their place. I agree the con-40 has its limitations but if you syringe it you can get a few more mm in it, if not just keep a bottle of ink handy.
I have not tried a syringe! I was scared of the little mixing balls!😀I cannot believe it's such a smooth writer! I love the little size - like my Kaweco sport (but I eyedropper that thing, so I keep it in a little plastic bag). The Kaweco just looks cheaper to me. Whoever gets your Prera will be getting a nice hand me down!💝
Just ordered this pen in orange, for an extremely good price. Less than half that quoted in the review. Stub nib as in this review. I have a Metropolitan in Fine and much prefer wider nibs, although the CM is a bit narrower than Western stubs, apparently. Having a fox that "jumped" loses the letter "s'. Thank you so much for watching and for sharing! You’re right - Rhoda is great and not too pricey! I’ve been experimenting with papers and Tomoe River is so great! I’m also excited about your green Metropolitan! What a super pen!
I have a TWSBI Mini and Kaweco Sport, both with 1.1 mm stub nibs. The Kaweco stub writes much thicker (my preference) than the TWSBI. I’m looking forward to getting this Prera soon. I think I will also prefer the Pilot’s snap cap to the twist-off of the Kaweco and TWSBI. It was fun to see your excitement when first using this pen!

@@KitchenCounterCrafts I just got my Pilot Prera ($32 from Amazon) and my first impression is that it’s exactly in between my Kaweco and TWSBI Mini. It’s more comfortable than the Kaweco because its just a little thicker and longer. It’s virtually the same size as the TWSBI Mini but lighter. I guess it’s my Goldilocks pocket pen: just right.
