Thanks for the review. Like the fact the decoder is not an ESU E24. It would of been nice is Atlas went with this style of ESU decoder over the ESU E24. From what I can tell this is the same fit as a classic board decoder. Thanks and nice job on the video
Great review! Ive got this loco too. My engine sound is super loud andni turned it down but the horn volune goes down with it. What is you favorite Micro Trains coupler to use with Kato SD70's and ES44AC's? The normal part number 2004-1 is higher than normal. Thanks Ron for the video
I have two Kato SD70Ace’s, bought about a year ago. I installed a loksound 5 micro, and the loksound sugar cube speaker. I had to mill the frame exactly where your model shows the speaker in order for it to fit. Does it look like the frame has been milled at all? I wonder what’s your dimension from the top of the frame to the flat surface where the speaker mounts. Great video and I just love Kato. As far as I know they are the only manufacturer that runs in their locos before shipping, hence they run great out of the box.
Its a waste of money. Better buy without DCC, buy decoder and mount it in propper way. Decoder its amazing with spkr with large enclosure. Have a lot of aux function and KOBO should be with separated and oscilating ditch lights, not at all like that original single light. I just modified all my ACe but in the propper way. I have 43 pieces of ACe, still have to modify 15. Too expensive for what they offer. Your presentation its amazing.
Great review on the Kato EMD SD70ACE locomotive which is on my bucket list to purchase to add to my N scale locomotive roster at a future date. Kato locomotives are the N scale locomotives I buy for my N scale Pacific West Coast model railroad.
I have 2 of these units with generic sound decoders that work well after modifying the frame !

Hi Ron! I love your channel. Which MT coupler did you end up using for the Kato SD70ace? Keep up the great work and thank you for all you do.

I believe the 9x16 ESU speaker fits there without modifications. Did on my SD70M and planning on putting same one on my ace.
@@LTSpenny good to hear. I’ll give it a try with my ES44’s and one of my newer SD70ACEs
Bluetooth to sub woofers would be incredible
And/or a sort of ordinary-looking stealth “tender” car (e.g. a boxcar) that’s really a bigger, better speaker.
