Imparting knowlege is a skill as well and quickybaby has 100%. This is the best one to explain stuff. The other videos I watched werent as easy to understand and my eyes were bleeding with the frustration of them trying and failing the teaching perk lol. Thanks for the upload. Keep up the good work.
my take is, use mentor until you get 100% on 1st advanced skill, then pay gold to retrain it into 6th sense. this only costs you 100 gold per crew (there can be only one commander!). great guide, btw!
Not sure if anyone already noticed that, but: You don't get x2 Experience for Accelerated Crew Training. You get the XP you earned for the battle (which normally end up in the tank's "XP bank") as Crew XP for the marked crew member instead.
He is right actually. It's not the same thing and depending on what kind of events are going on it won't always be x2. For example on a x5 xp battle it is even more crew xp transferred if accelerate crew training is switched on.
The intuition perk is very important for the FV215b (183) and the recently buffed FV4005 Stage II.Because you are loading HESH to one shot the Tiger II, for example. But, you want to kill low HP tank(Example:AMX M4 51 on 10 HP), you are still loading the HESH, but you don't want to spam the HESH at the low HP tanks. If you have the Intuition perk on 2 loaders in those tanks, you have a chance to load the AP without reloading 25 to 30s.
You can also speed up the training by putting in a 3 crew tank, to crew members from another tank, and all the exp will go to the crew member that was originally on that tank
It is important to know, that the commander gets the skills and perks of crewmember which are not in this tank. i.e. no radio operator --> commander can learn radioops skills too. When the commander gets retrained in a new tank which has a radio operator his skills will not be effective. Anyways really nice video.
Before I knew crews could be exchanged between premium tanks I have a lowe commander with mentor turns out he has been a blessing now that this skill is maxed out crew training is amazing I will usually swap him in after I get the double with my commander from the tank that I am trying to train crew for.
Dude my friend and I have been for a while now and you are EPIC. because of your vids you have helped improve our game playing a lot ty and keep up the great work
You missed the dropping of the skills. Is it worth dropping commanders (repair) skill to get sixth sense, or just start with an 'offline' sixth sense and grind it to 100% to not lose that 10%? Same thing, is it worth dropping all of your crew skills to get BiA (for example) as your second skill for credits? Or is it best to stop 'credit skill dropping' after like 300% crew?
i use mentor to grind up to my first crew-skill to get safe stowage faster and as soon as the commander hits 140%( i'm cheap and use credits to retrain) i swap it with sixth sense. repeat process across crew with repairs/camo and then swap it with BiA on second skill
QB Forgot to mention that eagle eye takes 3 seconds after mouse over target before you see what modules are damaged. Also brothers in arms gets disabled if you lose just one crew member in battle, which sux.
I personally think Mentor is great on large crew. Having 5 crew for example means that accelerated training only gives you 20% more total xp per game. Now if 4 of your crew members gets 10% bonus from mentor it means your commander will get the 100% bonus from accelerated most of the time to keep up with them and making your skill/perk lvl at a rate similar to that of a smaller tank crew. I'd have to crunch the exact numbers but im pretty sure if you are going to go for 4+ skill/perk it will be worth it in the long run.
camo skill doubles your native camo value - for example a TD that has 17.5% camo when standing still (quite common in mid tiers), that means it reduces that percentage out of the enemy's view range in the spotting calculations, if you get camo on all your crew your "enemy viewrange reduction" will go from 17,5% to 35% which is a huge bonus. So effectively for that camo skilled TD, an enemy with 400m view range could only spot you at 260m on open ground if you're sitting still (not firing, and not including a camo net which improves it even further)
you can check the camo percentages for most tanks at tank-compare.com and i'm pretty sure i know the combat mechanics, as a super-unicum that has studied them extensively to play the game better
Basically meaning a 'Camo' skill is only useful on tanks with decent/good camo. A Jg Pz E100 shouldn't have the camo skill as it only improves the spotting range by 10m. Good thing to note is that a Camo net works very well on big tanks as well, improving spotting distance in the open up to 50m for the JgPz E100
Some questions: 1. How many common skills, perks and how many class skill, perks can a crew member have? 2. To make a tank an Elite Tank you need to research and have every module or just get to the last one? For example, I research the second canon, buy and equip, and after that I research the third canon, buy and equip, but I sell the second one. It is ok, or I need to have them all? 3. Signal is useful for what? To see the tanks at long distances?
+Visnitchi Raul (Cobraul2) 1 im prety sure the max is 6, but i dont think you will ever get more then 4 skills 2 you need to have every module and every tank it builds in researched (the complete research tab of that tank)
The signal range of a tank is the distance at which it can receive messages from allies, for example: One of your allies is fighting at the other side of the map(out of your signal range), your ally uses the F7 key (Help!), then you can't see it. If he comes into your signal range and presses F7, then you can see it. However, you can still communicate in the chat.
I like how in depth you are about certain skills, butmany of the skills are lacking, as you just read off the screen. For instance, the radio operator skills especially. Those are hard to understand, and could use a bit more explaining. 3 % to veiwrange? How does that apply? Thanks for the great video, and all you do.
fantastic idea Quickybaby! i already know how crew skills work, and how you swap skills to perks (which you appear to have forgotten to mention). still, i'd imagine it'll help to get more information, and what skills to get on what tanks :)
As someone with lots of skills and experience when I saw this video I was hoping you could provide advice or feedback on what kind of skills you should be investing in for your particular type of tank (e.g. TD - camo & 6th sense) or what you personally have found useful/not useful and why. Most of the latter portion could be gleaned from reading the information in the actual WoT game skill description. I liked the "mistakes" section, but if you ever do a second swing at this, I'd like to see a few more opinions on what's useful and what's not. Also doing a shoutout to your other video on retraining crew without gold would have been good too.
QB... I'm not sure the accelerate crew training part was correct. Maybe you were saying this part (and I didn't get that) but by clicking the checkbox you are not not going to accrue normal xp (the xp for researching, etc) and part or all of that xp is now being diverted to the crew training. So yes the least experienced crewman is going to get more, but the whole crew is going to get more than normal as well.
I think you should highlight the fact that skills like "camouflage" only multiply your tank's innate skill rating. So it's much less effective on tanks that have bad camo rating.
Thank you for doing this video QB =) I read up on all of this at about 3k games played, but alot of experienced players still can't tell the difference between Skills and Perks.
Here's a scenario followed by a question. You've got an elite tank, commander has the mentor skill. Will the double exp for the weakest crew member allow the commander to keep up with the exp buff he's providing the other crew members?
Hola QB! Think you got the "Safe Stowage" a little wrong (20:48). It ads 12,5% HP to the ammo rack. It does not reduce chance of the ammo rack beeing damaged by 12,5%. Thanks a lot and keep it up!!
The Safe Stowage Perk enables a Loader to stow rounds in the storage racks in such a way that they do not come into contact with each other. The result is simulated as an increase in ammo rack durability of 12.5% credit - WOT WIKI
Excellent video, when you do the crew skills for different classes it would be awesome if you also mentioned equipment (camouflage net etc) you tend to use for each class.
Quicky, its awsome you are doing general skill/perk guides for the different class's of vehichles in the game. Later might you consider doing a skill/perk guide for specific top tier vehichles such as the Maus, AMX 50B, etc?
I have crew that were originally from my IS-2 and I got my first skill there, then I put them on my 110 and got 95% on my second crew skill, then now I've put them on my WZ-111 1-4 and have 50% of my 3rd crew skill from now but now it's the holidays and I will be grinding my WZ-111 1-4 to get the 113 and hopefully had 80% of the 3rd crew skill there. So I guess I'll be listening to SERBIA STRONG for the holidays.
Safe stowage doesn't actually reduce the chance of your ammo rack being damaged/destroyed. It increases the durability (i.e. HP) of your ammo rack by 12,5%...
What makes you think that big crew tanks xp slower? XP is not divided among the crew, EACH crewmember gets the xp. So if you have an elited 6 crew tank and get 1000 xp in a battle, 5 will get 1000xp and the worst gets 2000xp.
I have been doing crew skills so wrong :( it's gonna cost me a heap of gold to change them. can you please explain why its not a good idea to convert free xp. you said it in one of your videos and it got me thinking because i have free xp'd many tanks in the past, due to either hating the tank, maxing out painful stock grinds or just wanting to get to t10 quicker. Thanks for all the knowledge
I'm wondering about the chart he shows at 7:27 is that for roughly every tank or does the tier of a change those numbers? Such as the T1 Cunningham vs let's say a Maus. Does the T1 still need 210K exp or is it less as getting that much in the T1 would be harder than the Maus?
would you recommend Designated Target and Relay for an artillery crew? Im at Tier X now, and looking into what to do for my 4th skill/perks. Great vid by the way and very helpful. You might also expand a bit on retraining. As an example, I only recently learned how to do that, as I feared that I might lose my perks and skills completely.
Got a question about Mentor. So you are saying that if you pick Mentor it should be only until you have your it at 100 % and change it afterwards t 6 Sense ? Or how would you use it IF you were to use it ? Another thought that occured to me was that Mentor might only be a really good skill to pick during those juicy 3x Crew EXP days.
An information what I am missing: When you put your crew into another tank, they do get a penalty. Though, do they receive XP in that tank? is it a viable option to train your "main" crew this way?
thanks for this playlist, i'm finally playing enough that this has become important. that, and I bought the Tiger 131 and its my first tank that actually has sixth sense, hehehe
Why is this ~20min video only 1min. 34sec. long?
seriously wth is going on
im getting that too idky
Me too
i thought i was going insane but looks like ig im good lol
getting that too, needs reuploading probs
LiveStreaming in 1 hour on www.twitch.tv/quickybaby
Yay!
:)
***** Yes it does, it increases the hp of the ammo rack module so the point where your ammo rack is damaged is higher wich makes it harder to reach
On accelerate crew skill if you leave it not ticked do you get more free exp
Richard Holmes No. Or to answer what I think confuses a lot of people, making a tank elite does not carry any of the benefits of premium tanks.
Simply one of the best You tube tanks posts I've seen. Kudos to you for this "Must see" guide. Thank you sir.
Thanks Quickybaby. Had no freakin idea that I needed the common skills on all crew members to make them 100% effective. Super, super tip.
very useful to know about Brothers in Arms....
I was told that 1 crew member would contribute, not all of them needed it.

Awesome. Crew skill advice is much-needed. So is equipment advice, although that's a little easier to decide on.

Hey QuickyBaby, any chance you could updated this video?

You forgot to mention that dead crew members receive less xp for that battle, I forgot what value it is. Great vid btw!
For anyone who can't hear the audio, you can use closed captions (CC)
The audio is cut out part way into the video.
You can also speed up the training by putting in a 3 crew tank, to crew members from another tank, and all the exp will go to the crew member that was originally on that tank
Hi, loses audio after 1:30.
Good video. Many people don`t understand the proper applications for crew skills.

When the commander gets retrained in a new tank which has a radio operator his skills will not be effective. Anyways really nice video.
QuickyBaby, when are you going to fix this short running video? If anything, after five years it needs updating?
HiTechOilCo it’s working better on my phone, i was wondering why the red loading bar was short even though the intro just played
Before I knew crews could be exchanged between premium tanks I have a lowe commander with mentor turns out he has been a blessing now that this skill is maxed out crew training is amazing I will usually swap him in after I get the double with my commander from the tank that I am trying to train crew for.

nice one for taking the time to explain
Looking forward to the next series of videos on this subject.

Well done, QB! Looking forward to more of these instructional vids in your new series!

Works like the coated optics module, but only adding 3% instead of 10.

The sound cuts out at 1.34
Video frozen?! Audio works thanks God!
Thank you QB, this is answering all the questions I had about crew skills, great video!
No volume after 1:34 :(

He said there were going to be several videos in which he did exactly that, this particular video was meant for people entirely new to crew training.
Eon2641 Aah ok, I must have missed that (got distracted right at the very start of the video by an overenthusiastic dog).
QB... I'm not sure the accelerate crew training part was correct. and what about dropping skills?
bad ass, thnx. very useful with explaining some little known attributes i was wondering about.
Very informative...learned quite a lot, thank you
Here's a scenario followed by a question. You've got an elite tank, commander has the mentor skill. Will the double exp for the weakest crew member allow the commander to keep up with the exp buff he's providing the other crew members?
Thx QB, nice video. I would like to add that for call of vengeance the radio operator must be alive after the tank is destroyed.. What are the odds..
it is great to get som help with crew skills thanks QuickyBaby =)

I have been waiting for this
are you going to update the crew skills guide?
Helpful video, I'm looking forward to the next chapters. Also more map tactics videos!
I didn't know brother in arms have to be 100% on all of the crew, I had to change skills on almost 70% of my tank. Thanks!!!
Im currently at 83% into my 3rd skill for my fv4202 which is bia. My crew only did 700+ games. My avg xp ranges from 770-800.
Excellent video, when you do the crew skills for different classes it would be awesome if you also mentioned equipment (camouflage net etc) you tend to use for each class.
Thanks alot for the knowledge sharing man! I'm getting improved day by day =)
Also, does clutch braking increases the dispersion you get from turning the hull? Does smooth ride reduces the dispersion from turning the hull?

Your chat bar is like my fucking Christmas tree....
Hi QB, any chance youll be doing the results of the light, medium and TD contest results?
a good and needed guide!
Safe stowage doesn't actually reduce the chance of your ammo rack being damaged/destroyed. It increases the durability (i.e. HP) of your ammo rack by 12,5%...
Thank you so much QB, you're an absolute legend!
when will the specific skills for specific tanks video come out?
well that ended quickly... did you ever finish it ?
excellent job,
answers many questions.
Thx
Hi QB! Maybe you already answered this question, sorry, but I will ask you anyway.
What program do you use for recording your HQ vids?
Thanks!
Hey QB. Great informative video. Brand new subscriber and brand new WOT player.
What makes you think that big crew tanks xp slower? XP is not divided among the crew, EACH crewmember gets the xp. So if you have an elited 6 crew tank and get 1000 xp in a battle, 5 will get 1000xp and the worst gets 2000xp.
Thanks QB! I only wish I saw this video when I first got the game...
Hey i see that video where he hits a light tank in air in the outro so often but everytime i cant click it can someone give me the URL of it?
I'm wondering about the chart he shows at 7:27 is that for roughly every tank or does the tier of a change those numbers? Such as the T1 Cunningham vs let's say a Maus. Does the T1 still need 210K exp or is it less as getting that much in the T1 would be harder than the Maus?
Great video. Thank you for the work you put into this. It was quite helpful.
Would intuition really help if you're using artillery and want to switch from a heat shell to a standard shell?
great stuff quicky!
Also, do skills stop working when the crew member is knocked out in the battle?
Good job Quicky!
I knew most of the skills/perks but was surprised by the gunners intuition perk accumulating.
thanks for your efforts, very helpful cheers mate
What about dropping skills? What is that useful for?
would you recommend Designated Target and Relay for an artillery crew? Im at Tier X now, and looking into what to do for my 4th skill/perks. Great vid by the way and very helpful. You might also expand a bit on retraining. As an example, I only recently learned how to do that, as I feared that I might lose my perks and skills completely.
Could you cover changing skills or resetting skills
Quicky! what about retraining skills? And yes ofc I am awaiting for your "what skills to pick".
I'm listening to you speaking and watching that lamp in your room. It looks so awesome O-O
An information what I am missing:
When you put your crew into another tank, they do get a penalty.
Though, do they receive XP in that tank?
is it a viable option to train your "main" crew this way?
there is no sound!
So would you suggest designate targets for passive scouts?
6th sense is going to be changed in the next few patches Quicky and is likely to take some sort of nurf if not disappear altogether - source FTR.
Do you think loader should get a skill or two? What could be possible options?
Can you do a Quicky for King Tiger, E75 first 2 set priority skills and equipment in tandem? i.e vert stab or gld or optics or vents. etc.
Now we have training books xD
AWESOME Guidebaby! :D
Pretty well done. Keep posting!
thanks for this playlist, i'm finally playing enough that this has become important. that, and I bought the Tiger 131 and its my first tank that actually has sixth sense, hehehe
the amx elc bis is my first tank with sixth sense because i put a female commander on it
+nathan hood, hehehe
this is basically my daily job
i go through youtube
and watch videos and comment on them
+the best nice job!!! :-)
This might be a silly and stupid question but can you train multiple crew members at the same time?
excellent quicky. Thanks
Started one crew skill. Is it possible remove that skill in between and add new skill?
