Annie and bertholdt wanted to abandon the mission and go back but Reiner convinced them to continue the mission to infiltrate the walls in an attempt to save himself because if he went back without retrieving the coordinate Titan (one of the two titans that eren has) AND without the jaws Titan (marcel’s Titan), he would probably have his powers given to someone else since he was the one responsible for losing the jaws Titan (he would basically get killed). So Annie is pissed off that he seems to have forgotten that the initial goal of infiltrating the walls (retrieving the coordinate Titan) and that HE was the one who convinced them to continue the mission yet he’s still getting all buddy buddy with the “demons in the walls” and seems to be having fun when he was the one responsible for the death of one of their teammates and friends.
Well, it's implicit since the beginning that they know each other from long time ago, Reiner had so much confidence with her and she seemed to hate him so much here.
Poor Annie. That death stare she gave Reiner have so much more impact after the last episode. She is like, infiltrating and distant from everyone while he is like "Hey, why don't you fight Eren a little bit for the lolz? You have to show your duty, hahaha!". Yikes.
Sad part is, this is what lead to Annie's kick getting recognized by Eren. Her capture, there cover getting blown, and Eren learning how to pin Reiner's armoured form all resulted from this.
Annie still made the mistake of getting a little too close to Eren as well. She gave that whole speech when she really didn't need to, they became training partners after this, and eventually friends. She even taught him her technique knowing it may backfire. She still needs to take a part of the blame. Eren wouldn't be where he is without Annie's training.

She is a MMA fighter, in that scene she's using muay thai and that's just a pose to protect your head from punches or even kicks when you are attacking and "opened" for counters. Her fighting techniques include muay thai, judo, bjj (brazilian jiu-jitsu) and others. It's not a foreshadow, but it'd be a hint later on that she was the female titan because of the similar fighting techniques. In the world of AoT, MMA was probably something never seen before inside the walls, but definitely practiced around the world, since everyone gets stunned when seeing Annie fighting for the first time. A way to prove my point is that Armin pointed the female titan fighting style to be the same as Annie's and if those techniques were something ordinary there, then it would make no sense saying so.
When I first saw Reiner. I thought he would be like one of those typical characters who are jacked, badass, proud, bully the protagonist, have a bitter rivalry with the protagonist, motivate the protagonist. *Turns out he's the exact opposite of 95% of what I just said...*

Upon rewatching this scene, I think I now understand what Annie meant by, "Wonder why the best 10 trainees are allowed to join the military police and get away from the titans?." We learned later on that the government wanted to keep its people from expanding beyond the wall and rediscovering the outside world so that the wall society could continue to exist separated from the rest of the world. For example, we were told that the government was deliberately hindering technological innovation over the years in order to prevent giving the survey corps too much support. Enticing the best 10 trainees with the ability to escape having to face titans and to instead live a more comfortable life in the inner district further weakens the Survey Corps as it deprives them of promising candidates, in turn supporting the government's agenda. What an interesting detail! Of course, we did see 8 out of the top 10 in Eren's class join the Survey Corps, but that might not necessarily be a common occurrence in the other classes.

They just had a mission together. Y’all can’t tell me Season 1 wasn’t one of the best seasons of the show. Season 1 and 2 will always be my favorite seasons. So many iconic moments. Edit: She is also doing ACTUAL fighting stances and moves in this season, like this stuff actually works if you know how to do it. Maybe not flipping them completely on the head but you can definitely make them fall.

Edit: She is also doing ACTUAL fighting stances and moves in this season, like this stuff actually works if you know how to do it. Maybe not flipping them completely on the head but you can definitely make them fall.
