If anyone with FL12 is scratching their heads and/or smashing their keyboards trying to figure out why you can still hear the dry vocals in the background, remember to mute or remove the routing from the modulator and carrier to the master channel. I was close to murder when I suddenly realized that in FL12, routing a channel to another channel, doesn't remove the previous routing.

always remember to switch vocodex to default setting cause if not everything sounds like it's underwater :/

This exact modulation type is really only practical through the use of a vocoder. However, I do have a couple of videos focused on FM8 in my channel. I don't have as much experience with it as I do Sytrus, another FM synth. But I know enough about the basic principles to get some ideas across.

Also, It'd be great if we could get an explanation on compression, like what to compress, when, and how.
For one thing, I don't really understand how compression gives control of dynamics in a different way than just using faders.

You can record your voice and the sounds from Fl Studio with edison, and with fraps only the screen. So you have to put audio and video together later with a video editing software.

is there any way you could teach something like this on fm8 on massive, from start to finish? your tutorials are so sweet and i think there's a lot of people trying to learn how to modulate something similar to a kill the noise style bass (which this sounds like more than your ktn tutorial) is there any way to recreate this in fm8?

Why does Harmor and Harmless cut at 17khz?(Total quality loss there)... I usually have to put Distortion to have something in that extra 3khz, which doesn't help because it's basicly just white noise... Can anyone explain why the cut?
actually i sampled it in my remix for the resolve competition =)
Hey Seamless, I was wondering how exactly do you record your screen I thought you said in either this video or another video that you use fraps but when I use fraps it only record for like 10 seconds and then my audio cuts out and will just sound messed up, I use FL to produce and I use the ASIO driver for audio but fraps doesn't record the audio from it so I'm really confused on how to use fraps with FL or even just how to use fraps. Thank you.

Can you do this kind of stuff with the vocoder in NI Razor or NI the Mouth? Is there an equivalent to this for mac?

yeah. i tried using sytrus with no fl knowledge whatsoever and it was a disaster. could i get something like this with an fm patch in fm8 and using abletons vocoder as a modulator?

Yyeeeep. Boy those are pretty bad. I never actually saw them go up after they came and recorded it. I assumed they decided not to use them. I did get paid though :] I'd like to state for the record that I suggested that they find some other way to record the screen. The guy said this is how they typically did it.
