I went out and bought myself a solar power pump, and made a bird bath. Then bought some seed and made a feeder. I never did this before until watching your videos ☺️🦋🌈💕☀️
We found and drilled an old bowling bowl and it was amazingly easy. Run your tubing up thru hole and attach other end to your pump in the water and turn it on. Water flows up thru bowling ball and cascades over and is simply beautiful.

Hi from Texas! All your videos are so inspirational. My Mom is suffering with an illness, and being able to see a few hummingbirds out on my balcony, is giving me much peace. I hope to get more! I went out and bought lots of flowers, put up a water fountain, to encourage them to visit. Thank you 😊
Sending TONS of Hugs and Love to Your Mom! I bet any birds coming around give her enjoyment. That is so sweet what you are doing, You are most welcome, Thank you
Love to your Mom! And what a great idea! Seeing a tiny bird get refreshed with bubbly water will certainly add to your Mom's healing and joy! After I learn how to make one of these, they just might start going to my friends who need cheer!
Robbie, you are such an inspiration, both you and Gary! I love your hummer things all of your bird things and I have never ever garden in a bucket or a tote until watching your videos. And now I’m growing in cattle pods and picking green beans I have them up on cinderblocks, and when my back gets a little tired, I just lean.
I use turkey basters when I’m replanting and I don’t wanna splash water everywhere. It works real well with succulents and tiny plants. Glad to see there’s another use for a turkey baster other than sitting in a drawer L O L!❤❤❤😂
This is soooo much fun! I like to make red water for the hummers to feed theme they are adorable ❤ and I love them. My husband was teaching me how to put a fountain together and set it on spraying, and little hummers were already to get under the water the😂😅😂🎉🎉🎉🎉 You are fantastic!
THERE IS A HUGE SMILE ON MY FACE, FINDING THSI VIDEO! THANK YOU LOVE! I SUPER EXTRA LOVE HUMMINGBIRDS AND THEY NEED BATHS TOO! SERIOUSLY LOVE LOVE THIS CREATION EARTH SISTER! ♥
Thank you for sharing this idea! After murdering a pop bottle, I decided to try and make one with a bottle that was a little more sturdy. I grabbed a clear, square bottle that originally had distilled water in it. I left the turkey baster intact, and used a large blue straw that turned out to be just the right length. It works beautifully. I love it! Still waiting for the hummers to find it. I'll grab some pics when they do.
Oh thank you Robbie and Gary! I spent several hours yesterday upgrading my birdbaths because the summer heat is really here! I was so sad that I didn't have one of the bubbling water globes for my hummers. Then this pops up on TH-cam! WOW! I can't wait to get one made and to give my sweet friends a welcomed way to get a drink and cool off in this heat!! Oh, such joy!!
Hi Robbie! You are just a sweetheart. And you are an Angel to your birds. I guess they aren’t the only ones with wings. Love your ideas! So clever. Thanks for posting them. ❤️💜💚
Hey Robbie brilliant idea I’m bit concerned that high temps Tx that mosquitoes would be a problem…or ants too, using the nextar. How can I avoid that ..😮😅
Love this. My Grammy passed recently and loved birds and bowling ai think a fountain would be the perfect project for her bowling balls and give to her kids and grandpa to each have a bowling ball Bird bath.
Thank you so much for sharing your hummingbird fountain idea. I have bought all the parts and can’t wait to make my own. You are so inspirational with all your garden tips. Love your videos!😊
I been watching your videos and its clear that you got all this figured out! Thanks for sharing with us! I have made two concrete balls and two fishing bucket fountains! 👍👍👍👍
I’ve been watching your hummingbird fountains for a couple weeks now. Thank you for all your helpful videos. I made my first fountain 3 days ago, and the finches have found it already. I have 2 more pumps on order. I love all your ideas! Thank you so much!
Robbie, love your inspiring, you-can-do-it videos! I've made several bird baths, following your thorough instructions, and have them all over my yard. I was making the turkey baster one, when I had a eureka moment! I used a clear plastic Christmas ball (10" in circumference/3" in diameter) I had, instead of the baster ball, to make the fountain. All you have to do is burn a hole in the top and insert your tubing. I decided to just put the tubing half way thru and turned on the pump. The water filled the ball and bubbled out of the top, just the way yours did. The birds love it! Thanks to you and Gary for sharing your wealth of wisdom on growing food and caring for our beautiful birds. Cheers!
It was so worth getting to the end to learn how to turn down my solar fountain! I made two waterers with the foam on top, but don't care for the way they look. NO birds have come to either fountain, but I don't have flowers blooming, yet. I love this idea and will try it next. Thamks again for sharing.
Thank you so much for this video and especially for the troubleshooting tips. Without those suggested mods, I would have become very discouraged. I love the way you really want people to succeed in trying your ideas!

It comes with everything you need to keep your pump running all the time. I’m in Oklahoma. So the heat and Sun are an issue. Algae. Which is not a bad thing. I just make sure to add cold water every morning and if wind has been blowing I double check in the afternoon. Adding ice cubes is another one of Robbie’s favorites. So far it’s not had hummingbirds. But other bigger birds use it and that’s good enough for me. I do keep a HB feeder with just water for them to drink. I wasn’t sure if it would work. But they do drink from it also. Just change water daily so it is fresh.

A week ago I watched your instructions on a turkey baster and drinking cup baths….fascinating!! Well, and you know what happens; I bought TWO pumps and one came yesterday and of course I made a Hummingbird Bath too!! I wish I could send a pic but anyways, I don’t have 100’s of Hummers like you do. By intense watching ( dragging chairs in two places {I have feeders in front yard and back yard } and sitting watching for hours 👀), I can discern 3 couples in my trees. Early evening, two males and one female came, one at a time, to investigate. There were no takers as yet but I have no doubt there will be in this heat, mid to high 80’s where I am. I used a Rubbermaid container 9x13, with a red lid, drilled hole for wire for pump, sat pump in bottom, it has three little suction cups, got my red t-baster out and drilled hole big enuf for the straw in the red lid, pushed straw through hole to pump and WA LAA! I sat for a bit to regulate drilling more holes for proper water circulation. Ended up making 6 small holes at opposite the pump, thereby water coming up through straw and out top of baster lays on the red lid about a 1/4” deep--PERFECT!!! Your AMAZING!! Thank you for this wonderful idea that I promise you will be used for years and years at my home!
Your pump design sounds amazing. Sometimes it does take time, but they at least came down and investigate it which means now they know there’s water there. And running water means more to them than standing water. Keep me posted. Good luck beautiful. ❤️😊💕

What type of food attract humming birds ? I know they need a protein source correct ?
@@philisbramlett6890 they eat insects in the flowers.
@@philisbramlett6890
They eat insects, etc. But you only want to offer them clear nectar made from 1/4c white granulated sugar mixed with 1c water.
