Thank you for sharing this idea! After murdering a pop bottle, I decided to try and make one with a bottle that was a little more sturdy. I grabbed a clear, square bottle that originally had distilled water in it. I left the turkey baster intact, and used a large blue straw that turned out to be just the right length. It works beautifully. I love it! Still waiting for the hummers to find it. I'll grab some pics when they do.

Wellll 😉😁 The first step is live where they migrate to. 😂 second step is staging the environment for them, make it inviting, nobody’s gonna show up if there’s no food, water or shelter.😅
Set up your environment and they will show up . Here in Nebraska that’s what I had to do. They now know every year I have plenty of flowers for nectar, water and feeders. When I finally started doing all of that, I get several during the migration in the fall.❤🎉 and I see a few stragglers throughout the spring and summer.
My mom has some all summer because she has a beautiful trumpet vine and bushes to nest 🪺 . 😊

A week ago I watched your instructions on a turkey baster and drinking cup baths….fascinating!! Well, and you know what happens; I bought TWO pumps and one came yesterday and of course I made a Hummingbird Bath too!! I wish I could send a pic but anyways, I don’t have 100’s of Hummers like you do. By intense watching ( dragging chairs in two places {I have feeders in front yard and back yard } and sitting watching for hours 👀), I can discern 3 couples in my trees. Early evening, two males and one female came, one at a time, to investigate. There were no takers as yet but I have no doubt there will be in this heat, mid to high 80’s where I am. I used a Rubbermaid container 9x13, with a red lid, drilled hole for wire for pump, sat pump in bottom, it has three little suction cups, got my red t-baster out and drilled hole big enuf for the straw in the red lid, pushed straw through hole to pump and WA LAA! I sat for a bit to regulate drilling more holes for proper water circulation. Ended up making 6 small holes at opposite the pump, thereby water coming up through straw and out top of baster lays on the red lid about a 1/4” deep--PERFECT!!! Your AMAZING!! Thank you for this wonderful idea that I promise you will be used for years and years at my home!

Don’t know how well it would work for birds but WalMart has a water feeder for cats or small animals for about 20 dollars that seems like the ideal thing. It has a fairly good size top that the water flows onto when it leaves the dispenser that they can splash on, and the dispenser is molded like a flower. It holds approximately 2.7 liters of water. I’m going to give it a try on out front porch.

I love this. Next on my project list! Just got my solar fountain, made from last year and it is running great. This one is going to be so much fun. Thank you Robbie I just love seeing all the new and different ideas you come up with. I’m proud to show them off. And I brag on you. ❤️🙏

      Which pump should I buy

@@jo-anndalaimo9096 I know Robbie is big on not ordering pumps made in China. Just because if something happens and returns are or can be a hassle. I ordered off of Amazon. Every pump, darn near, was made in China. I did make the decision, however, to order a floating solar pump with a glass top. And I love it. It comes with everything you need to keep your pump running all the time. I’m in Oklahoma. So the heat and Sun are an issue. Algae. Which is not a bad thing. I just make sure to add cold water every morning and if wind has been blowing I double check in the afternoon. Adding ice cubes is another one of Robbie’s favorites. So far it’s not had hummingbirds. But other bigger birds use it and that’s good enough for me. I do keep a HB feeder with just water for them to drink. I wasn’t sure if it would work. But they do drink from it also. Just change water daily so it is fresh.

Thank you so much for this video and especially for the troubleshooting tips. Without those suggested mods, I would have become very discouraged. I love the way you really want people to succeed in trying your ideas!
