    I feel that demon in the bottle should have been the main theme for iron man 3 instead of Iron Man 2, mainly because the way iron man was in iron man 3 with the trauma and him having those attacks would have work better for this arc instead of the extremis.

      I dont think the MCU will deal with this adult issues ever.

      From what I've heard, "Demon in a Bottle" was never adapted into the MCU because Robert Downey Jr. didn't want to relive his days as a drug addict.

      They kinda tried with Moon Knight. Episode 5 is a perfect example.

    That's one my favorite comic books, specially due to Tony Stark development and his drama dealing with alcoholism, making him a much more interesting and complex character than he bland billionaire hero he was in first comics. Cool thing this arc pays off later in Kurt Busiek's avengers run, where Tony helps Carol Danvers deal with her own alcoholism, becoming a mentor figure and friend to her.

      @@samuelwilliams1619 True. Actually the whole Iron Man trilogy, despite having some flaws did capture the heart of the character, showcasing Tony as genius billionaire who deals with his human flaws and the consequences of his reckless actions.

    As for the whole thing about "Super heroes shouldn't deal with real problems" I'm also against this idea. For me the best super hero stories are the ones that are able to balance both tones. They can have fun adventure and fantastic elements, but also use this to reflect reality, making the character and his problem very relatable and the moments where he overcome those problems much more inspiring.

      Like I mentioned in the video, if they aren't challenged in realistic ways, I don't feel they earn their right to be a superhero. That's just me lol.

      @@ChannelNerdgasm Well said. It's important for super heores to face super villains and fantastical threats but is also important for them to deal with personal drama in order to become interest characters and make their stories more personal and impactfull.

    Man whoever wrote this, clearly understands true alcoholism. Being betrayed by everyone around you, being under constant attack, nothing seems to offer reprise without taking too muchh from you... at least immiedietly. Can destroy even the best of men.

    I Think Demon in a Bottle and DC's Green Lantern Emerald Twilight should be the tone of Superhero Movie and TV Shows because It shows The Heroes go through Real Life Problems and Issues, I Feel like this is the Type of Stories that Superhero Movies and TV Shows could adapt a More Darker, More Realistic, More Grounded, More Unhappy Type of feel, That's Just My Opinion

    • @ChannelNerdgasm
      @ChannelNerdgasm  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think they should always be that dark. But every once in a while they need to be grounded and have the heroes face real life problems. Heroes are allowed to fail sometimes. They are still human too. Well...most of the time lol

      @@ChannelNerdgasm Yeah I Do Agree, I Think Having Heroes face real life Issues like Grief and Alcoholism would make for much more Interesting Storylines because not only do they showcase Problems that People have but They also show the Hero rising from their Issues, I Think that is what Most Superhero Movies and TV Shows don't have is the sense of realism, I Understand that guys like The Flash or Green Lantern are harder to do with Realism but I Mean it is Possible, I also do Agree when you say that Heroes don't face Real Life issues don't deserve to become who they are I Agree with that because It makes sense, No One is perfect, Everyone makes Mistakes, and I Feel like That type of Story would be Great on Movie and TV,

    Bob Layton said in an interview the title was going to be cancelled before he took over the book.He put more attention on Tony Stark,added Rodey and sells went up.I think he said over 100,000 copies were sold for each issue.It may have been more,don't remember the exact number.
