Excellent video! I'm leaving the military and applying for the MSSA program. I want to be an Azure administrator, but I'm starting from the very beginning MTA certification. This really helped me see my path!
Exactly what I wanted to know… Good, clear information. I'm a starting IT professional and looking into becoming a DevOps Engineer. Still a long road, I know, but nevertheless with these video's I'll get there. Appreciated man!

Am new to the system admin thing, but want to get on the train of trending, and studing on the Azure platform, I feel i can learn the system admin path way from the Azure field, please advise
you have to adoped both. You can’t know one without the other. There is no one computer that just used Azure or cloud unless there a pure SAAS company. Really important to know how to perform on both platforms, if you don’t know the on prem environment or cloud how can you expect to either migrate or use both
Hi I know basics of windows. But i dont have support to do windows. That's why am thinking to do azure because my frds also doing azure certification. And am confusing with windows because i don't the fundamentals certification or high level certification in 70-740, 70--741, 70-742.? i don't which one is the basic and from where i should start??
Nice video Knox. I'm almost done with my MCSA Server 2016. Thinking of studying for the AZ 103 exam next (I was doing some on-prem to Azure migrations in my old job so think this would be helpful). Is there significant crossover between the MCSA Server 2016 and AZ103? I looked at the AZ103 exam skills and see familiar topics like Storage Management and Identities.
You'd be surprised - they really are two different products. So there is a little bit of crossover, but there's a TON of content in the MCSA exams that you wouldn't get from AZ-103 and vice versa. MCSA will cover things like GPO, DNSSEC, DNS Polciies, iSCSI configuration, Docker commands, Failover clustering, ADCS/ADFS/ADRMS - all things that are still very relevant technologies! So what you're really picking when you choose MCSA vs Azure is WHERE to deploy windows server, but not so much how to manage it.
Hi knox !, what do you think about it now ? I am new to IT with no experience so it's better to go for the mcsa ( i already had ccna ) . Do you think 5 weeks with study 6 hours every day is enough to get the mcsa ? Thanks in advance
I would go for whichever one your current job uses more - Windows Server or Azure? I’d also look into what your local labor market is hiring for. Eventually everything will all be in Azure or AWS but that could be awhile in your region
Currently working as FMS Engineer I want to get MCSA certification but by June 2020 certification going to retirement. Can you suggest me which I can choose azure or MCSA
Data Knox I have been doing application support on applications hosted on windows servers (2008/2012) for 7 years.. I want to enhance my career , I have a degree in IT, no certs but I don’t know what certifications to get to enhance my career... any advice?
Jitin Misra with your experience, it really boils down to what is hiring in your area. If your area isn’t hiring for cloud-based jobs like Azure, I would go for MCSA: Server 2016 (which is absolutely ok to put “In Progress” on your resume!). Otherwise I’d go for Azure Administrator to learn some totally new skills and technologies
Jitin Misra with years of experience, I don’t think an entry level cert would help you very much. I’d go for something more Associate/Professional/Expert level that really “certifies” your years of experience
His advice is true and good. If you have no experience with Windows servers, MCSA will give you a solid foundation since you will still work with servers in the cloud. If you already have some experience but no certifications, Azure is a better option.
The MCSA IS NOW DEAD! How should you continue? Here is my updated video! th-cam.com/video/B1XvXMEEnAY/w-d-xo.html
LOL looks like Microsoft saw ur video
There is a 6 months extension. I believe MCSA is still good to have for anyone using Windows platform.
Excellent video! I'm leaving the military and applying for the MSSA program. I want to be an Azure administrator, but I'm starting from the very beginning MTA certification. This really helped me see my path!
Your advice is still true to this date as the Microsoft certpocalyse just happened. 😅 Good job!
It definitely threw a wrench in a lot peoples’ plans!
Wise words. I'm on a IT academy and we are starting with MCSA and then moving to Azure. My instructor's opinion is the same as yours.
Careful - the MCSA retires in June
JK - jokes on me. They have extended it, effective today, till January 31, 2021
@@DataKnox Good to hear haha, although I only have one more exam to go, the 70-742.

which certification is better Power bi and Microsoft Azure

Depends on the job you want!

No, the MCSA is pretty much dead at this point. You would not have time to complete it

Greate videos.Thanks
microsoft is going to introduce new certification and is retiring mcsa. should i go for azure or certification because i am beginner.
You could consider Azure or the MD100-101

Hi I am going to do MCSA..what are my career levels from MCSA
adnan23 Adnan job titles you’ll look for begin with Systems Administrator, and you’ll be able to branch into Systems Engineer or cloud engineer!

Data Knox so u don’t think I must get other certs first since I don’t have any other s?
Go straight for what you recommended?
Jitin Misra with years of experience, I don’t think an entry level cert would help you very much. I’d go for something more Associate/Professional/Expert level that really “certifies” your years of experience
So..Azure is to Windows Server what Node is to Javascript
Killer comparison!
♥️
We disagree with your advice and believe going to azure directly is the best way to be with the current and future trend of MS certification.
His advice is true and good. If you have no experience with Windows servers, MCSA will give you a solid foundation since you will still work with servers in the cloud. If you already have some experience but no certifications, Azure is a better option.
