@@thatfabulousbastard114 Heavily influenced is an understatement. They almost entirely copied the design from his work. Some of the overall inspiration was also from Hp Lovecraft as well but the creature design was very much inspired by HR Giger's work.

Scorn is an intriguing atmospheric game, not quite a shooter, even if it has limited weapons, has several not very hard puzzles, and first class sound design! Ain’t very big, but was a very interesting play for me, if you're looking for something different than usual for a change and like creepy bio-machine environments and mysteries Scorn may be a good choice for you. Just to anyone wondering, the parasite actually carried your stuff as well as the gun which allow the scorn guy to reload as well hold the head of the gun type, and the parasite the trigger and the holder . There’s even a note that the other guns head is also stored by the the parasite for further use by it’s bone tentacles. Regardless how have that is, which show you how dangerous the parasite really is..

Even if we far more advanced than we are now, we still can't replicate bio organisms and it extremely complicated processes in it perfect forms, we probably ended up with far more boring utilitarian looking future, that is if God don't throw another meteor at our world for at least one more millennium.
it is literally more efficient to build tech than grow biological beings to mould them into tech unless we REALLY screwed up and this is our ONLY choice it aint happening
My thing with Scorn is this. The theme, setting, all the inventive and grotesque biopunk themes are so good… but there’s just not a lot of “game” here. Remove the cool theme and visuals and it becomes a glacially paced survival horror game without a lot of engaging gameplay or story. I really hope the studio can revisit this concept with a more complete package.

I love it when devs put a lot if effort in their animations, the hands, weapons and biomachines had intricate movements, I was intrigued to see what moving thing every next room had in it during my play-through, interesting game overall.

People who say the game is boring get told it wasn't a shoot'n'loot and they were looking for the wrong thing, they say it was still boring and they didn’t like the story and ending not understanding what environmental storytelling is and that not all endings are happy one's, and this one was meant to be a painful anticlimax. You can say you don't like it and that's fine, but the game was not a failure, aside from not having as big a scope as the dev's intial desires it pretty much did exactly what it intended to. Personally I like it, that is just my subjective opinion but you at least can't say they made any mistakes just because you didn’t like it or understand it.
I played the Game completly and i have to say the Game never disapointed me, it was intresting Scary and most of all it had Puzzles that are very Difficult but also very fascinating. I love the Game but the only Thing i would have loved is if we get to See more of this World and what other Creatures are excisting there

So much effort put into the aesthetics, graphics and environment. It is a shame that the game itself is extremely boring and the ending is awful. Plus a personal gripe but I hated that our player just carries on with his business while a monster is literally attached itself to his back and his insides. Like we are expected to just ignore it for later.
I mean you're forgetting who our second guy has went through and experienced, he doesn't really understand any of this but a few minor things and the devs did want to do more but couldn't and well the visuals, detailed animations, new assets and stuff have a price in exchange of money; what the devs did want to do is seen in the artbook and they also chose to be show-no-tell for Scorn, they made the commitment so had some limitations to do more.
Btw it's supposed to be awful, HR Giger always saw birth and life as horrible and again is what they took to heart, they made this game with his artstyle and mindset in mind so yeah, plus it's fresh because we are given good endings for our character, Silent Hill has endings like this but not 1 Awful canon ending.
This game looks great, but the game itself is so bad. Really, really bad game. Design wise, it's not even a fun survival horror thing. The only good part is walking around looking at stuff. Combat sucks. Oh, and you can absolutely 100% lock yourself out of the ending if you don't have enough health at the end, and there's no way to refill that health. Have fun! Got to the very end but the game prevented me from being able to beat it, and it's not even a bug. Just bad game design.

Broth is a nutritious substance, its a word used in science usually, and that meat tree thing is full of it, so since the game does’t have any official names I called it that, and the transport thing is the nutrients from a crushed homunculus and you use that vial to transport it .
It’s just sad that the “story” doesn’t actually exist. Like… you can say “fnaf doesn’t have a story”, and though not wrong, there was still like news papers and whatnot. But this. There’s nothing. No dialogue, pages, ancient carvings… nothing.. not even like- a Lore book pdf file. And though this game is BEAUTIFUL DESIGNED in both visuals, and sound effects… the fact that there is no story to go with it is genuinely the worst part.
I can see that many reviewers have completely misunderstood the game, which is a shame. Sadly, the developers of Scorn were to focused with the visual representation of the game that they forgot to make an actual game to play, no real story nor characters, just pure visual flare
Because inspiration from HR Giger and other artist and because why tf not? We expect all shiny & non-disgusting stuff and these guys were like "Okay let's just embrace biology and base everything around that instead of what others are doing".

It's unique, functions and cool, all it takes to be considered top tier weaponry & weaponry design in my eyes.
It’s just sad that the “story” doesn’t actually exist. Like… you can say “fnaf doesn’t have a story”, and though not wrong, there was still like news papers and whatnot.
But this. There’s nothing. No dialogue, pages, ancient carvings… nothing.. not even like- a Lore book pdf file.
And though this game is BEAUTIFUL DESIGNED in both visuals, and sound effects… the fact that there is no story to go with it is genuinely the worst part.
I can see that many reviewers have completely misunderstood the game, which is a shame. The plot of this game is not simple, and the philosophical issues in it are suitable for the system of every country.
The parasite in this game can actually be understood as your original twin brother. He was just brainwashed by the political system and shaped into an inferior existence. In fact, these two people are originally one. When you understand this, you will understand the initial setting of the game.
Sadly, the developers of Scorn were to focused with the visual representation of the game that they forgot to make an actual game to play, no real story nor characters, just pure visual flare

there is no "why" in scorn, it just is.
Because inspiration from HR Giger and other artist and because why tf not? We expect all shiny & non-disgusting stuff and these guys were like "Okay let's just embrace biology and base everything around that instead of what others are doing".
