    Hi Everybody! So as I mentioned in the video, I had a hard time figuring out the BIOS version that came with the board and so I contacted Gigabyte customer support as I said I would. They got back to me after a couple of days. According to them F2 was the BIOS version that came with the board. As such I totally would have to (and I did) update the BIOS so a 5000 series CPU would work. As such I went ahead and did Q-Flash a couple of times to update it fully. It was a rather painless and quick process to use Q-Flash. If you wonder what BIOS came with your board, just hit up the maker's CS and be sure to include your purchase date. They should be able to tell you.
    Hope this helps!

      So yesterday I tried to update my bios and it completely went wrong. I downloaded the wrong Bios. My board is exactly the same as your one. My sticker on my box is exactly the same as yours. Can you please assist me in fixing and downloading the correct Bios. I have been onto 100 of sites and videos trying to find it. I bought mine back in 2021 and not sure which Bios to install now. Every bios I tried doesn't work. Please help!

      Thank you so much! Glad you like the motherboard and the video!. I definitely had no real issues with it after I figured out I installed the wrong bios and then got the correct one installed, lol. It's a good board but RGB Fusion 2.0 def needs work--that's probably my only real complaint but if you don't need fusion, don't install it.

    Thanks for the review. Ended up building with one of these boards for my gaming PC and it's been great experience. Lots of options to tweak but it also works right out of the box without a fuss. Did vary a bit from your M.2 idea and put my OS on a WD850X 4TB in the faster slot and a WD770 in the slower slot purely as a backup drive. It works ;) Got TPM working without adding a module and Windows 11 Pro is happy. Anyway your video was a big help when deciding which board to get. Thanks again!

    This was very helpful and thorough review. I'm really liking this mobo for my next build (apart from the compromises on the internal USB C header and a couple of other things). I've watch several vids comparing various B550 boards and it took me until now to realise that they were talking about the pro, not the pro-p version, which makes me feel a little better, as the thermals on the VRMs were fairly lackluster in some of the reviews for the pro (shouldn't be too much of an issue, but I'd really like everything as cool and quiet as possible).

    • @pablocsa5629
      @pablocsa5629 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does support type c tho.

    • @haildorothygale
      @haildorothygale ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pablocsa5629 It has a rear type C connector on the I/O panel, but afaik (happy to be wrong, this thing was expensive) the 3.2 headers on the board don't support the requirements of the Type C, and are for the slightly older 3.2 type A USB. So, for instance, I have a case with an optional front type C usb socket available, but my understanding is that this mobo doesn't have the right type C board connector to make it work (or at least at the appropriate speed).

    • @pablocsa5629

      @haildorothygale ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pablocsa5629 Honestly, that's difficult for me to say, as I'm in the UK so price and supply will be different. I'm guessing you already know of PC part picker, but I found them useful for product comparison. If I had to choose again now, and I hadn't bought anything else, I might consider upgrading to one of the lower end new gen AMD boards. But tbh I bought the Pro-P because I thought the lack of type C board header was an acceptable compromise for the price to performance/features it offered vs other boards available. I'd only advise that you check any board you buy has a decent enough audio codec for your uses and bios flashback on the IO for ease (both of which the Pro P has).

      Hey Dead, I just spent 3 hours trying to figure out how to get RGB Fusion 2.0 to work . . . I did nothing, it randomly just finally opened. What a POS! And you're absolutely right! The tiny audio lighting strip on this motherboard is now mostly hidden by the AMD 6700XT I installed. lol It's amazing how much time and effort PC builders, like myself, put into cable management, making sure lights look cool etc, and then 90% of it's hidden out of view by a big honkin' gpu.

I tried it 2 more times with the same result so I stopped using it altogether. Fast forward several months and I bought a 3070ti. I reinstalled fusion and no coil whine or anything. Thank you for reviewing this motherboard. I'm planning to build a new Ryzen 7 5700g PC without a discrete GPU for productivity, and this motherboard seems perfect because it has a display port and HDMI port. But do you think it would support DDR4 4800 MHz dual channel kit memory?

    • @MiddleofKnowhere
      @MiddleofKnowhere  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The motherboard can support up to DDR4 4733 RAM, but this might be less with a 5700G since and according to various sources it seems the APU will max out at DDR4 3200. However, it looks like in a Hardware Canucks video they had DDR4 4000 memory working with a 5700G (probably just 2 sticks). You could go for that. Just remember there are diminishing returns with higher speed memory and then the cost goes up exponentially.

      @@MiddleofKnowhere i think 3200 is more than enough for most people, but i guess it depends on what you do. AMD tends to be more sensitive to Ram speeds than Intel, but it works for both in similar ways. what Ram do you think best works with B550 not just with this Gigabyte but others. Corsair and Crucial are the two most common, but those are the one's I've used in the past and they usually work well with most motherboards out there. but there are other companies, Kingston is a name i see sometimes, Hyper X, there's also a few new names im not as familiar with, TeamGroup, that's a name i seen, G.Skill, although there most common on Intel gaming builds, but there known for there RGB. would it be the same with X570, i been looking at both, but im not sure if i should get the 5600G, 5600X or 3600, those are the 3 im mainly looking at, but Ram is what im most curious about. the 5600G is the one im thinking of getting, since im not a hardcore gamer, but i do play some casual games sometimes, and the 5600G and 5700G have igpu. or would it be better to get the 3600 or 5600X with a dedicated graphics Nvidia or Radeon.

In my research, it's hard to find an matx motherboard that can adequately handle the 5950x. MATX boards tend to cut features down as they aren't necessarily aimed at the high end of things but more middle or high-middle, so for instance a 5900X could be used no problem.

      I'm currently in the process of editing my B550m Pro-VDH WiFi video. I like it. It's cheaper, doesn't have as many features as I'd want and isn't flashy at all, but has several you might like like the wifi and type-c front panel connector. Having said that, the Aorus Pro-P has way more USB ports including Type-C on the back, a 2.5Gbit ethernet port if you need that, a beefier power delivery, and a more robust audio solution. These thigns could warrant the extra cost. It doesn't have wifi or a type-c front panel connector though. Honestly, it all depends on what you need and what CPU you intend to pair with the mobo. The Pro-VDH did well with a 3900x stock and oc speed, so it could also do well with a 5600x or 5800x possibly even a 5900x.

      I go over everything on the motherboard and there should be chapter headings so you can jump around. Watch on intrepid viewer and find out.

    Does this work with a ryzen 5 5600x or do i have to buy a 5 5600g?

    • @KhudhurAlkhalaf

      Or is just the 5 5600 the best choise?

      It will work with any of those CPUs. Best choice comes down to budget. The 5600 and 5600X are the closest together in performance with the 5600 being cheaper and then the 5600G has an integrated GPU but will perform less than the 5600 and 5600X and the 5600G DOES NOT have PCIe 4.0 capabilities. Ironically you can get the 5600X or 5600 for near the same price, so I would recommend the X. amzn.to/3nWkScZ

      Yeah, after reading your comment, I looked up the prices and saw the 5600x is going for same or even 4 bucks cheaper lol. The choice is clear then!

    Does an rtx 3060ti or 3070 fit on this mb?

    • @lurkeerrr
      @lurkeerrr 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      because im worried if the gpu is too thick it would not fit past my usb cable from the bottom

    • @MiddleofKnowhere
      @MiddleofKnowhere  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will fit but if you get an matx case you will have tight clearance. I’d recommend a regular mid-tower with any triple slot gpus.

    the board i have has 2 m.2 slots but like if they're both connected only one of them is m.2 speeds or something?
    is it the same deal with this motherboard?
