Thanks for your video, that was really useful and you explained how diverse the job can be. I am about to start a degree after completing a diploma, so this helped a lot.

Hi Mayanthi, thank you for providing such useful content. I have enrolled in a Graduate Certificate of Councelling with the view to continue on to Master of Councelling. My interest lies in long term marriage and the high divorce rate after 20 years being together. Do you thing this is the correct course to be doing or are there better options?
    Thanks in advance
    Andrew

hey girl, found your video when I was searching how to become a qualified/registered counsellor in Australia and thank you for touching light on your experiences in this field! I understand that you went to uni and studied psych before doing a masters in counselling, do you know what would be the quickest way to become a registered counsellor? Ive been doing a bit of research and feel kinda lost bc i dont wanna do the 3 year psych degree and 2 years on top of masters if there is a quicker way towards it like a diploma or bachelors in counselling. would love to hear back from you :)

Navtej Rainu Hi lovely, thanks for watching! As I did the 3 year Bach and 2 year Masters...I can only really speak from my experience. But there are other degrees/courses out there...I did a quick search and found this one through ACAP...it looks like you can become a registered Counsellor in 3 years - www.acap.edu.au/courses/counselling/bachelor-of-counselling/
      Hope that helps!

Hi there, great video series, I am looking at going to uni and doing the bachelor of counselling degree. I am really interested in becoming a clinical psychologist but it is such a long road to get there, do you know if you complete the counselling degree are you able to do further studies later on to become a psychologist if you wanted to? like they would credit the counselling degree so you wouldn't have to start the whole psychology degree from scratch?
    thanks heaps :)

Hi, thanks so much for watching 😊 As far as I know (in Australia) you do have to do the bachelor of psychological science, honours year and then the clinical master in psychology to become a Clinical Psychologist, I don’t think you can get there by doing the bachelor of counselling unfortunately. I would suggest contacting the Uni you’re planning on studying at and double checking with them. All the best 😊

Hi, thanks so much for watching. If you plan to move to Australia, you can study here and become a Counsellor. You will need to look into migration requirements. In regards to salary, it really depends on what area you work in, so sorry it’s difficult to be more specific without knowing more about what you want to do. If you would like further info, or would like to book in for a one on one consult, please check out my website www.withthegraciouslife.com ☺️

Hello! Thank you for this video. I have subscribed. Could I know whether a Diploma in Counselling can get me a job or is that too small a degree for employers? I want to do a Diploma but am worried I may not be able to find work afterwards. Would appreciate your advice. 💕💕

Hi! Thank you so much for watching!
Do you live in Australia? If so, I would say a Diploma in Counselling won’t give you many job opportunities. It would be best to pursue psychology or social work and do the diploma as an add on to one of these 😊 hope that helps!

So glad I found this channel. I'm in my final semester doing a Grad dip of counselling through Alpha Crucis University College (I'm in Perth) and I recently found out that I will have to find my own placement and professional supervisor and complete 140 hours to be registered with PACFA. I don't know where to begin to find placement and a supervisor....
