Thank you for a truley wonderful video. You capture the beauty, the peace, the pure tranquility of the Broads. The freedom to go anywhere you want. The wildlife, the relaxing sounds, and the pure magic of the wonderful Norfolk Broads. I'm there end of May 2014. I'm on the broads every year, sometimes twice a year, and I never ever get bored with it. I went on the Broads when I was a kid, now Im taking my kids on the Broads and they love it too. Thank you again.
Yes, Thank you for a lovely video. It was made even better when we spotted our son and his fiancé 23 minutes in, We had hired a day boat for them as it was his 25th birthday. We are heading down on the 17th of May for a week and we will be exploring some if not all of the tranquil places that you found. Kind Regards Colin & Phillipa
Very nicely done although you did seem to recover your tracks quite a bit. Can't blame you as I love the River Ant. We have been using Summercraft for nearly 20 years now and Gardenia Girl 2 is one of our favourites. We have it again in August. Thanks for the video, it was great to watch! Kev and Imo
Beautiful video. I've just booked a cruiser on Lough Erne in August. We intend to go down through the sixteen smart card operated locks to the Shannon. It will be my 16th or 17th time on the Erne. Can't wait.
Ranworth can be a lottery at any time, if you get there before lunch time or early afternoon after people have had their lunch time beer you should be ok. Best to avoid a weekend if the weather's good as that's when the private boaters tend to congregate. We have noticed over the last few years that the Broads do seem to be getting more popular again.
Bryan Willmore Seeing the Broads still busy is a healthy sign ~ even though I love the peace and quiet; and all the joys of listening too, and watching the varied types wildlife. I've been fortunate enough to see a Bittern, grass snake, water vole, water plus Roe deer, Crane, and many kingfisher. But I have been going every year for a while now! What's been your most memorable 'spot'?
Not seen a Bittern or Crane yet but in June 2016 did see (and photograph) quite a few Swallowtail Butterflies at How Hill. We did have a Water Vole on board (in the forward well) one year, it kept going in and out the drain hole, never did find out what happened to it.
Video was a mix taken with Panasonic HDC-SD90 and HC-X920 cameras set to 1080i and 1080p respectively. Stills were taken with an Olympus OM-D E-M5. Editing was done with Final Cut Pro X.

I presume your son and fiancé were on the Fineway launch that appeared to have a diesel problem.
Correct. They had told us about breaking down and were very surprised when I showed them the video.
Very nice. Great shots and sound. I think your video sums up why I am very keen to have a week on the broads this year with my family.
Lovely video, ad the bird song and sound of the water really take you away from a computer screen to as if there. Thanks for sharing your adventure :)

beautiful video!
you were lucky with the weather.
Great video; and 'stills', too. The boats interior looks really nice.
I'm booked to go from Stalham mid April 2018. Are you returning next year, also?
Yes, we are back again in 2018.

Nice! Is it relatively quiet mid April, between bank holidays? Or I could've said...are there normally spaces on Ranworth staithe?!!
