Maybe not related but a huge takeaway listening to you guys and Huberman Lab is ... Use Dopamine "for the process" and not for the reward in itself. Thank you guys, it's been an eye opener in so many ways!
Hi VP, thanks for another amazing podcast! In regards to avoiding looking at the P&L. I use google sheet to record my tradings, here is where the position size formula based on the balance takes place, but to avoid having the P&L appearing in front of me all the times I keep this figure on a different sheet and the formula is addressed to take the balance into account directly from that specific sheet. It sounds a bit confusing but I hope it makes sense 😉
Hi VP, that experiment of hiding the PnL and the account balance and just trade 'till the end of the month (or week or whatever) is super interesting. Maybe doing it, first, on a demo account or a real one but with very low capital. And, allow me to disagree with you on something very specific - when you say one has to check, at least, the account balance to "put in an appropriate position size". Not necessarily. I use a trade panel, totally free (NNFX trade panel) and I just click Buy or Sell. And I don't have anything on that panel telling me what my account or equity is. And it opens 2 positions, with the ATR SL I want (1,5) and one of them with the TP ATR I want (you suggested: 1 ATR) and, the second position, with no TP. Thus, doing that experiment of not looking at the PnL or Account Balance is feasable. If necessay, one can put a post-it on the screen, just to 'hide' de PnL or Account Balance.
Removing the account balance and position size is a great advice it decreases adrelanine. From now on I will hit (Ctrl + T) in MT4 to remove it from my sight.
A bit of sloppy editing on the screen this week. Secret's out, I use the Opera browser. 😆
Its not that bad. Opera browser? I didn't realize its still out there. Id recommend Brave browser to upgrade. Thanks for your content.
@@KFX Dude Opera browser is sick now, especially if you like to stay organized and in control
@@KFX Brave is the best
