When Should You Replace The Remote Fob Key Battery In Your Chevrolet Tahoe?
If you notice the range of your remote key fobs to start to decrease or the smart key fob slowly stops working, you may need to remove and replace the batteries.

Nice explanation, simple process really. FWIW, my "hoe's" battery on one fob was down to 2.9V - noticeable range reduction. New battery voltage is about 3.3V. Expect a changeout every 2 - 3 years, YMMV.

Replaced the batteries twice on 2019 Tahoe fob. Still getting “Replace Battery in Remote Key” on info center in vehicle. Fobs work fine for all features.
sometimes it can take driving the vehicle a few times before the message disappears
I've done this once and the distance sensitivity to unlock/lock and push to start greatly decreased. Is this from me changing my battery or something else?
I used to be able to use key fob through walls, now I have to be within a few feet... annoying
If you noticed it happened right after changing the battery I would suspect the new battery may be the issue
