(Thank you for the pistol draw and "aggressive" presentation technique... has certainly improved my own draw and shoot technique to less than 1 second.) However, training up men to contend earnestly for the "once-for-all handed down to the saints" (all believers) faith, is to be in the greatest battle that exists. Speaking of the spiritual battle that we face everyday as good soldiers under the banner of the Lord Jesus Christ. Such battle is not with "flesh and blood", but certainly requires tearing down spiritual strongholds and using the "weapons and armor of our warfare": declaring the Word of God (which includes the Gospel) in boldness, heartfelt prayer, and standing firm in the grace and faith most abundantly supplied by our Lord. USMC Rifleman for 8 years... Ambassador for Christ for 12 years (and on until death or taken up to meet The Lord!)

35 years here with my wife, and I wouldn't change anything. Five children and one grandson, so far. We've been through everything you can throw at us, her with cancer, me with GBS, you name it! And we're still strong and going. Still going through tough times, but who isn't? We believe in the Lord, and we've been blessed.
My grandmum said she hated my grandpa years at a time, but she new they were outside influences that caused it. She met him in Australia during WW2 and took boat and train to central Wisconsin. Married 3 years and while she waited and traveled alone, he and his brothers built 3 houses for their families. 8 kids, until death and she said the love and passion always came back.
Great point! We're always moving even when we don't realize it...takes effort to go against the natural pull in life and draw nearer instead of drifting away
John, you are spot on. After 43 years together I love my wife still and more than when we first married, she passed after 43 years and I love her more. If you love someone it is forever. Wake every day thinking how I can make her life happy, what can I do to comfort her. If that is reciprocated happiness is yours.

I loved seeing this, and I would’ve loved to seen the whole thing. And congratulations on 15 years! I wish that mine had been so fortunate, after 17 years, my wife decided that she was on the wrong team and went down her own path. It’s been a tough storm to ride through, but God has gotten me through it. And I’ve learned a lot from Him about it. And I’ve learned that I can’t do anything, all I can do is trust that He’s got this, and wait on Him. Next time, if he chooses to bring another into my life, she comes from Him.

We were married 28-years when Vicki passed away (over two years ago now) from kidney and heart disease. But lately, it seems like I'm still learning how to love her more, but grieve that we can't share that here on earth. I want to see her again someday, but I know I have to go on for her sake. I'll keep learning about myself and how she's still influencing my life.
This is so TRUE with my own relationship with God and my thankfulness for HIS Sacrifice for My sin & my Salvation, Redemption and Justification. I don't always realize how important my daily reading of the Bible and the time spent with God, until I'm in the Word, and in Prayer.

The problem with society and marriage today is everybody is selfish and not willing to fight for their marriage. One of my favorite quotes from Fireproof "When a man is trying to win the heart of a woman, he studies her. He learns her likes, dislikes, habits, and hobbies. But after he wins her heart and marries her, he often stops learning about her. If the amount he studied her before marriage was equal to a high-school degree, he should continue to learn about her until he gains a college degree, a master's degree, and ultimately a doctorate degree. It is a lifelong journey that draws his heart ever closer to hers."

This really hit home with me because I just rediscovered my connection with God recently and things have been different. Little things happen once and a while that make me think "huh, that was weird... was that REALLY a coincidence?" Anyone who thinks they know it all is just taking the easy route, the path of least resistance. Going the hard route means taking a leap into faith towards something that ABSOLUTELY shows itself from time to time in beautiful ways.
