Love your work Aaron. Yes, the Option key trick to view paths as a MOMENTARY feature may be new. But good to note enabling file paths on the bottom of Finder windows as an ALWAYS ON feature has been available for years as it could be turned on through the View menu on some previous MacOs versions.

Hey Aaron! Great video as usual, in macOS Monterey we also can change out mouse pointer colour by opening system preferences < accessibility < display < Pointer and change it from there
@@JosephHaubert too early to say for now. Been spending all day to reinstall those utility apps and microsoft office suite. But so far installing alot of apps simultaneously cause no issues or lagging at all.
My 2013 iMac is stuck on Catalina until I can get a new computer next year. It's still a great computer and I'd actually keep it if I could update the OS but I guess all good things have to come to an end eventually and it's now time to upgrade.
Lol my 2015 MacBook Pro still on Catalina idk it just works for me don’t need all the extra stuff they adding nowadays anyways, I’ll be waiting to see how Monterey goes to see if it’s worth leaving catalina but from what I saw here nothing is compelling

my favorite is the quick actions on a file to convert. Very useful and saves time especially for email attachments. No more preview to open and convert just do it from right clicking on a file in the options! Thanks for the review as usual awesome Aaron!!
I’m still using late 2016 MBP in 2021. It took almost half a day to install the update. I don’t want apple to drop support to older Gen Mac too quickly because the life span of MBP could be 8-9 years

I have a Mac book pro 16 inch from late 2019 (a basic model) the intel chips are really loud when pushed but so far in this OS version, they seem to be a little cooler and so quieter (long may this continue!) thanks for the updates! (any thoughts on how further to quieten my "hot chips" would be appreciated)

12.13gb for my upgrade to macOS Monterey on my 2019 4K intel iMac. I am so excited ! I am also upgrading to iOS and iPadOS 15.1 on my iPhone 8 and iPad 6th gen. as I learned from your iOS 15.1 video. I always am alerted to updates via your TH-cam channel. Thank you for your alerts as to upgrade time. Excellent comprehensive overview of macOS Monterey. Very useful and entertaining.
I am kind of disappointed didn't include landscape dynamic wallpaper for Monterey like they did in Mojave, Catalina and Big Sur. This is also the most minimal releases ever.
I upgraded yesterday, have really been enjoying the upgrade. Have had zero issues. Running on a Late 2015, 27" iMac. Usually I'll get some bugs on each new version. Catalina was the worst for me in the last few version. Monterey has been the first year with no complaints, at least nothing that's not working normally.
Aaron, superb job as usual. One small issue that reported to them on day one is the screen saver. When the screen saver kicks in, the selected desktop pictures appear with super dark to almost black tint.
I am using All the unsupported macs: 2009 15” MacBook Pro, 2009 Mac Pro and 2012 Mac mini server. And it works fine. Only my 2017 iMac 27” is supported. Soon my 16” MacBook Pro will come with Monterrey pre installed.
Looking forward to this for some time, though I'll probably give a few days or weeks before downloading and installing and reading how many are having issues.
I have a Mac Mini with M1, and yes, I installed it, and I can't believe how far behind the moon resizing a window/app is on a mac. Unbelievable that in 2021 it's still such immense pain in the ass. I am using 2 monitors and, it's frustrating.
What exactly do you need? maximising? minimising? full screen? or just resizing to whatever that you need? because from what I know Mac can do all these, so not sure what the problem really is

I noticed that after updating to MacOS 12, I cannot make Facetime audio calls without a camera anymore, I used to be able to do that on Big Sur but now it refuses to do anything unless I connect a camera. Loving this update......
I want to shout out a warning to anyone who wants to clean install the OS. Be VERY careful about doing it on an M1 mac. It takes some tinkering and you may get yourself stuck. I was fiddling around for three hours which included installing Big Sur on an external SSD to make sure File Vault was off. Make sure filevault is off before you start just in case. I actually thought I somehow bricked my internal SSD. It's a lot more simple to clean install on a pre-T2 Intel mac to my knowledge. I don't know if it's because some of the older ones don't have the T2 chip or Secure Enclave as with the M1 macs. A lot of instructions will tell you how to make a bootable USB, but they don't have a lot of instruction for once you restart. Do not assume it's the same or as simple as the older Intel macs. Once you figure out how to fully erase the drive, when you try to confirm your account, if you turn the logs on, it says "cannot mount".
Would of like to see an option to only charge to 80% and auto shutdown or sleep at below 20% battery especially as the battery is STILL not easily replaceable...
I had trouble installing it on my new 2015 MacBook Pro today. I'd upgraded the SSD to a 1 Tb Crucial P2 with an adapter and Monterey didn't like it! I had to put the original SSD back in, install Monterey to it then take it back out (after Monterey installed a firmware update) and installed again on the Crucial 1 Tb. It worked! I was pretty worried for a while there but it worked in the end. Monterey is great but I haven't had a chance to properly test it yet. It seems pretty much the same as Big Sur at this point.

FYI - After the upgrade to Monterey, my 5 TB Seagate external drive not recognized. Attached it to my Catalina iMac and it works fine. Hopefully an update will correct this.

I use MacOS sind 2018. Any update made my computer better and faster or got me something new and excited. This one did NOT do that. Firefox fonts are broken, there is something wrong with Numbers, and I don't see any improvements. Sure, they will fix it. But for me this wasn't worth updating at all. I have a new M1 MacBook Air from 2020.

Bought a new 27 inch a month ago and downloaded it a week ago. It has a few major problems. Screen saver is a big problem with half the functions not working. Also the guy speaking does not show where the reset is on system pre- somewhat discouraging...
my MacBook Air M1 basic now loads adobe apps much faster. You don’t mention performance improvement in existing machines. Premiere now loads in 5secs flat on my restarted machine, and I am now more confident using it on my M1 basic.
@zollotech Might be off topic, but should I have "Privacy Preserving Ad Measurement" in Safari ENABLED or DISABLED? Hard to find “good” info on this setting and what it really means if on/off and for privacy for “us” should we have it on. It’s on this new OS, iPhones, iPads, as well. 1:42 this is broken for me. It’s supposed to be using my wallpaper album in Photos but system preferences struggled to load the photos and that whole desktop and screensaver section can go completely white and not load

yeah the illustrations feel a bit lifeless to me :/ there was something special about the good old wallpapers on the Mac.

On Big Sur My dell Bluetooth mouse had severe lag issues but after the Monterey Update its running buttery smooth...Thanks Apple

I wonder if the Safari bug has been fixed in Monterey...coz in big sur when adding "youtube" as a favorite, Safari crashes😅

I’ve typically used the old “double-click the title bar” Windows shortcut to maximize/restore window sizes in macOS…does this no longer work?

Why would you go through the App Store when you can click on the apple logo to get to it?
Because you can’t usually. Many people will have an update for the current version but not a new OS such as Monterey
