    Uniball Jetstream has been my fav. Appreciate the water test. Went out and bought some Energel Permanents because I write tank fuel measurements outside (even when it rains) during fuel deliveries at gas stations for work. Thanks for the video.

    This was a good review. Today I found out about the Pentel EnerGel Permanent pens and have them on my list to buy. I have to buy the Uni-ball 307 and Jet Stream. I love skip free, waterproof, doesn't bleed through the paper pens.

    They also last longer when exposed to sunlight I believe. Coral and Pink are particularly bad for fading in sunlight.

    Thanks for your review . I was interested mainly when you used water to smear that was very informative .

    I recently got the Pentel EnerGel Deluxe RTX in blue with the 0.7 mm ball. I really like the silky smooth flow and the vibrant blue saturated color, which feels close to writing with a good fountain pen. But for work I need a permanent ink that can withstand moisture, oil, and works on crappy paper and laser copies.
    So I bought the Pentel EnerGel Pro with permanent blue ink with 0.7 mm ball. The color is close but not the same brightness, and unfortunately it just doesn't have the exact same feel when writing. I don't know if it's because of the pigment in the ink that gives it permanence, but it's slightly different. Don't get me wrong, it's still a nice writer, and if I hadn't used the regular version first I would have been happy.
    When I test ink I write on paper from a 3" x 5" scratch pad, and then put it in a bowl of water and let it set. The regular ink starts to bleed immediately, but still leaves legible print. The permanent ink doesn't move at all, and after drying looks just fine. I also took a sheet of printer paper and sprayed the center with WD40 and then blotted off the excess. The permanent ink writes without skipping when running across the oily spot and has no problem with continued writing. I have noticed that once in awhile the ink will glop a little at the beginning or end of a word which the regular ink doesn't do, but it's not too bad.
    I will continue to usr the EnerGel Pro at work and the regular at home until something better comes along.

    Any other pen is about the same in color vibrancy smoothness etc. Permanent waterproof is the main reason for this version of this gel pen. Very handy incase of sweat accidents spills rain etc.

    Great video!!!
    I like the Pentel Energel because it writes smooth and I might buy the Energel Permanent for when I sign checks.

    that's interesting. I love LOVE Energel, and to my joy and surprise I've discovered I can actually use Energels to sketch my drawings, and they won't smudge when coloring with Copic markers. Was very impressed by that. And NOW I just discovered this one "permanent gel ink" pen in my collection, don't think I've even gotten around to using it. But when the regular ones are more than permanent enough to withstand vigorous coloring with Copic markers, how much more permanent can it get?? I will induct an investigation. In this video, did I understand correctly that you performed the water test almost immediately? I have a little theory the results may come out different if they get an hour or so to really dry. And maybe there will be differences depending on which type of paper it is. Consider me on the case. Excuse poor english, it's my second language and way past my bedtime already....

    I think the ennergel does that it's permanent cus the ink hasn't come up for me. But I think it's made so that when it gets wet but I beleave it smears not really smuge to make it harder to wash checks and signutres cus a major of the ink still stays even though it can smear from water

    Nice video
    How does the "regular" Energel (blue pen in the video) differ from the Pentel Energel Liquid Gel Ink Metal Tip? The latter is more expensive, do you know why that is?

  • @tingowango2576
    @tingowango2576 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I beleave the energel is using liquid gel ink so for this kinda ink it's very permanent if it is liquid gel ink

    I’m not a fan of the metal clips either, as they can break off and the grip can also slide. The basic X is a better design.

    How have I gone all these years and not noticed that Energel has a permanent version? I just watched your Floatune video & came back to the channel to look for waterproof ink and found this old video. I had a serious hand injury five years ago, so I wasn;t watching your channel or doing any writing. Maybe I better go shopping.

    I just found out that the Energel 3 can accommodate Uni Style Fit Gel refills. Do you happen to have any experience with those?

      I don't have any experience with the Uni Style Fit Gel refills in particular. One of the other TH-camrs that I follow (PenPixie) seems to like them a lot. She houses the refills in a Pilot Dr. Grip 4+1 multi-pen. As for me, I enjoy writing with Zebra Sarasa, Pentel Energel pens. Pentel recently came out with a clear body for the Energel line. However, they appear to be no longer available on Amazon. Here is how they look like i.redd.it/wlgg9mnbrcv01.png

    I just bought the Energel Permanent. I don’t like it. It smears real bad and has a watery look to the ink. Papermate inkjoy gel is better to me.

    • @jmaegm
      @jmaegm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is papermate inkjoy gel waterproof or permanent? If not then any other pen is about the same in color vibrancy smoothness etc. Permanent waterproof is the main reason for this version of this gel pen. Very handy incase of sweat accidents spills rain etc.
