That actually gave me anxiety watching him butcher Kosmos recipe. LFG has a bad memory though if you notice in a lot of videos.

Yeah, it wasn't really a reverse sear. He also didn't use the rubs Darian suggested. I do like the combo Rackley used, but with the Texas Beef he would have had some sugar that would have really helped that char flavor...
@JedStrogan no kidding? I am speaking from experience on using these rubs. I have used both rubs and get a much better caramelization from the Texas Beef.

The reverse sear would have won if LFG actually reverse seared the dang thing. That being said, kosmo wouldn’t have told him to reverse sear that thin of a steak.

When I first met my wife's family 15years ago the were ruining strip steaks in a oven. I made believers out of them all. Cooking on a charcoal grill! !! Hank Hill be damned, charcoal is where it's at!!

Because of Googan squad videos I knew about cosmos spices. I tried them for the first time at ace hardware in Florida and it’s awesome. I put some on my jerky and it’s amazing.

I have a little meat market near Tomball Texas I got to and they sell his stuff. I decided to try it on some steaks which now is my go to use Kosmos on my steaks!

His indirect is amazing, been using indirect for a while, but brown butter in a cast iron is my go to method.

Thank you guys for another super fun video to watch...and yes it was funny like everyone else chiming in, mr. Miyagi teaches lfg the masters ways...where as lunkers uses his tried and true cast iron pan sear, even like any other steak master he compensated for steak thickness.....(lunker!...really wanna take it up a few notches, while your seasoning your steak, in a bowl 1 stick softened unsalted butter, 1 tsp. Onion powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tbsp, fresh rosemary, and chopped basil, mix, spoon out unto saran wrap, roll into log, put in freezer,), when your pan seared steak is rested place 2 Pats of your herb butter, and let melt unto the meat....bam! Hands down lunker will have it 10 outa 10...thanks again guys was great watching
