How do you tell if an unupgraded piece of gear is better than a currently upgraded piece of gear? Does it show the old stats of an upgraded piece of gear when comparing?
You can get every trait/conjuration you just have to follow the butterflies around the map that'll lead you to a chest. The side quest follow the butterflies is in hogsmeade after you complete that you can find them in the open world
You can get all, since the bigger camps give more then 1 of those chests, so it's 42 camps but a bunch of them give 2, so you should have them all if you clear all of them.
Man you are a game changer, I was trying to find how to get more traits but you need to bandit camps thank you some much every guide you make is so nice please keep going
@JorRaptor a little tricked I picked up was when capturing wild beast if you put the game on story mode difficulty you don't have the mini game where u have to keep pressing square or X. You just grab them once you activate the the bag, which made farming and capturing hippogriffs and unicorns extremely easy and it doesn't effect any gameplay.
I mean I'm not sure if the game difficulty matters I'm playing my first character on normal but I don't have any problem getting hyps or unis. I just stealth, freeze, and bag. The game mechanics all around are pretty easy in this game lol
FYI, beware: Before you open a legendary chest.. make sure your gear inventory is NOT FULL.. otherwise, the chest will be burned and you will lose whatever gear was in it. This doesn't happen with standard chests, it just puts the item back in it.. but with the large Legendary chests that have an actual physical opening animation.. the item inside will be lost forever if you open them with full inventory slots.
@KSXgaming I haven't gotten to the southern coast yet to get my own so what does the graphorn actually do to warrant it's own mount slot if doesn't even fly? Is it faster than any other mount?
Is it worth upgrading gear at level 37 or should I wait till I get to max level? I’m also almost done with the game but I keep on getting small upgrades. Like my robe was 103 but then I got one that was 108 so I’m not sure if I should start now or just wait
You get the mats for upgrades quite easily at level 30 you should have quite a lot already in stockpile But due to levels taking longer to achieve later in the game I would say yes it is worth

It took me 50 hours+ to reach the max level of 40 in Hogwarts Legacy using just the Dark Arts Battle Arena, which is a place you can only access if you got the pre-order edition of the game so from the day it released (here in Australia it released on the 10th of February) to right now 13th of February (took me a while because I don't have a lot of time to play it non-stop so you could probably reach max level quicker than I can) so I'm chilling, you can only have 36 talents unlocked in the game even though there are 48 to unlock, but I do not wanna spoil it anymore for people who do not have it yet so that is all I am saying
I think the difference in number between bandit camps and exploration traits could maybe be accounted for by the traits you unlock through the combat challenges? I hope so at least :)
I’ve discovered that it’s best to use levioso on land beasts (gives you a bit longer before they can run) and arresto momentum on flying creatures (especially if you can manage it before they take off)
I have a question, so like say I have gear that isn’t 114 and like it’s not one I can buy (purple dragon eyed spectacles), would I still be able to get them to 114?
should you prioritize gear level over gear rarity? Ex: Im lvl 16, with lvl 16 blue robe, but have a lvl 12 legendary rob that has lower stats. Would I choose to keep the blue or the legendary? Mainly asking because ive been selling all gear that is lowest off/def stats to allow inventory space.
You will get a lot more gear as you level up. At level 16, it really doesn't matter. But I would prioritize rarity over level (if it isn't a huge level gap) because you can equip better traits.

Kind of unrelated but does investing in the dark arts skill tree without learning any of the curses still lead you to becoming a dark wizard or does it just make you more powerful
Spoiler: No difference to ending whether you learn the 3 curses or investing in the skill tree. The ending depends on what choice you made at the final story choice. The dark arts skill tree is useful for other "curses" like expelliarmus and Stupefy that helps fights a lot.
This is one thing I don't really like much about the game. I use crucio all the time it's on my main dps bar, nobody cares I use it. Sabastian uses it once and everybody hates him lol
Can you use the highest level gear you have but override the cosmetics like in ghost recon breakpoint? I want to use the best gear I have, but don't like how it looks/ don't want my character wearing a mask or hat.
In the gear selection menu hover over a category and press square to enter the cosmetics/vanity menu. Just be careful to note that the cosmetics you apply are applied to that specific piece of gear and not that category of gear so as soon as you change your physical gear item it will change appearance to the new gear appearance so you'll have to change it again.
Really enjoy these videos! Question- if I fully upgrade a legendary item, and then I find a better legendary item (higher base stats), is it worth it to SELL the original, and then fully upgrade the new one? I haven't seen this answered anywhere, thanks.
Well you get the same amount (200g) for it, no matter if its upgraded or not. I just sell all the gear i dont need anymore (that have lower stats). So now i’m level 30 and have like 40k galleons.

The way I see it - if you have the graphorn or 3 in your Vivarium along with the Phoenix, then i would sell, since we get those rarer ”ingredients” every 25mins from the beasts. So its fairly unproblematic to upgrade the new gear too to get even better stats. It frustrates me too sometimes, i upgrade something fully and the next loot i get something better to upgrade 😁 i think the buyers should pay more for upgraded gear. Or give something, like new gear or traits or anything back.
@@TheReapersgaze except Unforgivable gives bonus damage on everything if the enemy is cursed. Which is incredibly easy. What I was wondering was which of the two increases damage the most, on the same exact target. The curses themselves deal no damage, except Crucio but that is inconsequential.
@@akhsdenlew1861 From my experience so far. If you invest heavily in Dark Arts, Unforgivable 3 is better because it is more damage. If you don't, Concentration is better than specific traits, even though the specific ones give more damage, Concentration affects all your spells. If you go for plants, Deafening is best, Mandrakes are kind of OP. And if you abuse Focus Potions, Scorching is the best, you can non-stop spam Accio + Incendio. Incendio being the highest damage spell in game and Accio fixing the range problem. Add a control spell in the rotaation for yellow shields and you are good to go.
My only question i have, is what is the highest offence or defence you can get on gear at max level, im level 39 right now, i have a gear item at 110 on the main offence or defence but idk if there is higher then 110

Think your next video should be on attack strategies for enemy types. The collections gives you specific details on how to dispatch enemies quickly (i.e. flipendo after a troll downward strike). Also shows cool animations and has completely changed how I map my spells. Love the videos dude!
I don’t get it anymore. Every time I find cloths or buy they go up in Defence/or offense but also go down at the other. And I can’t upgrade my cloths anymore because upgrades are full. I’m on Defence 302 and offense 341. Can anyone help me?
Jorraptor is it true you get more side quests if you choose gryfindor? And you get the least amount of quests with ravenclaw? Or is that all a lie and you get the same amount with any house
Hi! New here and loving it! I am on my 4th playtrough and level 40 and have only spent 3 talentpoints on the spell inventory upgrades. Love this game so much! Grtz from Belgium!
I know in some games that if should wear the highest level gear you have, then you get higher level stuff rolled out in the game. Even if it is a weaker item you always want to wear the highest level gear. That is my question for this game. Should you always wear the highest level, or should you always wear the most powerful gear meaning health defense offfence?
Always or check top right what ur stats even then if u level up and get a legendary it’s better then before happened with me when I sold my scarf then got it in a chest after I leveled up
Question about traits is it better to put lvl 1,2 and 3 traits on gear of the same spell ? Or is it better just to have a few different lvl 3 traits of different spells ?
Traits do stack so if you find yourself using a spell with a quick cooldown often you could do all level 3. If you tend to use ones with longer cooldowns like confringo etc it might be better to add different traits and be more well rounded, just so when you’re fighting a group of enemies you aren’t waiting on that one spell’s cooldown to do significant damage
Once a trait has been woven into a piece of gear the resources used to weave that trait are gone forever. It doesn't matter if you sell it or not you can't get those resources back so you'll have to spend more resources if you want to weave that trait into another piece of gear.
Lvl 36, completed the game. Slowly completing all side content. Already beat all the arenas. All legendary armor pieces, concentration 3 trait, and full tier 3 upgrades. Only problem I have is which combination of cosmetics do I wear.

Though if you want to be a dark wizard as early as possible, follow the main quest because the Unforgiveable side quests are tied to it, some of Sebastian's quests are actually main quests. Otherwise, you can do everything afterwards. There's still dungeons to clear, quests to do, puzzles to solve. Only gripe I have is you can't change the weather back to fall or winter, you're just kinda stuck with perpetual spring. I spent most of my game in winter doing side quests and whatnot. Kinda why I ended up being low 30s by the end without hardly trying. P.S. Enemies and dungeons respawn after 1 ingame day or 2 waiting periods. So even after 100%, you can go kill some bad guys still.
When I open the trait chest, it is not showing on the screen what I got, so I have to go into the field guide and look in Collections, then Traits to find the new one I got. It is a lot of trouble, so why won't it show on my screen right after I open the chest?
I don't understand the upgrade system fully yet so I haven't really been using it. Does the defense number go up as you upgrade? Coz I wonder why upgrade a piece of gear if you end up replacing it with a higher defense item with comparable traits. And then because there is no chest to store them in I identify the pieces and sell the inferior items.

Guys, do you think there will be a New Game+ ? I'm done with the story sadly... and I know the main part in the story is learning trough the different spells which could make it complicated when already obtaining these but not impossible or am I wrong ?
just depends if they want to do it. Jedi Fallen Order is the same way in that you need certain abilities as the game goes on to progress thoughout the story. you have to relearn the skills again in NG+ but you keep all your gear and cosmetics.
i mean the first couple of upgrades, depending on the type of the gear, is pretty cheap and from super common beast materials you get from the story. upgrading gear really isn’t needed at all though. not like the game is hard
As someone who just barely got to 37 after beating the story, all side quests, all Merlin trials, and collected 90% of pages... Yeah go ahead and upgrade your gear in your 30s since it takes forever between each level
@@davidwilliams3271 Yeah, your 30's go by REALLY slowly compared to earlier levels. Also, does gear cap out at a max of 100? Cus I haven't seen anything higher so far. If it does, then you might as well start making your end-game sets in your early 30's when it starts to cap out.
I’m struggling with when to upgrade. There’s no point spending resources if i then go and do a mission and find an item of clothing which has better stats anyway
Been sidequesting notice depending of the perks you can increase damage to certain enemies or different spells. Just doing the alohamora quest and the merlin trials now but is there an upgrade system in the game that you can upgrade your gear
Yes, when you complete the quest to unlock the room of requirement, you’ll be able to summon your customized room with a loom stand, once you summon the loom stand and complete the beast capture step with Deek, you’ll be able to upgrade your clothes magic single handedly. You just need to complete the battles against the enemies to unlock more perks as you explore
I originally used arresto momentum but couldn't catch the unicorns in one shot. Using levioso I can catch them since when they fall it makes them stumble and the time it takes for them to stand back up is enough to fully capture them. With arresto momentum they just run straight away after the spell stops.
@@JorRaptor I agree but I think the problem was cuz there trying to get it on a switch I do wish our choices had better outcomes but I have a idea why it is the way it is cuz it’s not a canon Harry Potter game so it would upset Harry Potter fans maybe or try to keep it friendly so kids can play it but the outcomes remind me of assassin creed Valhalla but not like odyssey now I do wish there were online side quest to win spells
Multiple websites for this, you can remove all legends on the map, type the beasts name, then boom it shows you where they are on the map.. These websites work for all things in the game that has a map emblem/legend. Glhf
Transmog is the look of the clothing you give to it, like making your strong ugly glasses look like something you like to wear, or be invisible completely.
Hey my gear stats are going WAY down each time i "upgrade". Is anyone else having this problem? It seems like it is a huge gamebreaking bug yet i can't find anything about it.
I have proof that there is a glitched revelio page in the bell tower wing that is preventing me from achieving the platinum trophy. Let's get this some light @JorRaptor so we can get this glitch fixed so people can start getting their platinum trophy on a PS5. Most videos here on TH-cam call that specific glitched page number 4 in the bell tower wing. It's the floating page outside of the herbology greenhouses. This NEEDS to be FIXED ASAP

I didn't have this myself? Also reloading an auto save should help

You don’t lose the item it just becomes locked you can go back and collect from the chest once you have space

We need a storage chest in this game.
For what reason? Once you collect a piece you unlock the transmog for it, gear sets aren't really a thing so you just need 6 legendary pieces

Oddly enough I had green gloves till about 23 that were better than most purples at the same lvl. 30s you should be all legendary

You'll naturally get the magic loom if you do weasly/deeks quests.

What happens if I stack traits? For example - If I put level 3 crucio boost on my hat and scarf, will I get 2x the boost or does it do nothing?

Theyre not crits, every 4th basic cast is more damage, you should always keep that in mind when casting other spells as you will reset this count

Just use Concentration 3, it's extra damage for all damage spells. I have it on all 6 pieces of gear, and I'm one slicing trolls

you just need to unlock it, then you can add to any legendary item you want as long as you have crafting materials

Think your next video should be on attack strategies for enemy types. The collections gives you specific details on how to dispatch enemies quickly (i.e. flipendo after a troll downward strike). Also shows cool animations and has completely changed how I map my spells. Love the videos dude!

I don’t get it anymore. Every time I find cloths or buy they go up in Defence/or offense but also go down at the other. And I can’t upgrade my cloths anymore because upgrades are full. I’m on Defence 302 and offense 341. Can anyone help me?

They absolutely stack, running 6x Concentration, and my Expelliarmus one-shots a lot of goblins and wizards.
I know in some games that if should wear the highest level gear you have, then you get higher level stuff rolled out in the game. Even if it is a weaker item you always want to wear the highest level gear. That is my question for this game. Should you always wear the highest level, or should you always wear the most powerful gear meaning health defense offfence?
Always or check top right what ur stats even then if u level up and get a legendary it’s better then before happened with me when I sold my scarf then got it in a chest after I leveled up
What is the blue circle in the upper left of some of the gear icons?
The blue dot means that piece of gear has a "trait" on it. However said trait can be overridden by weaving a new trait into it.
Just got my first full outfit set. The headmaster outfit which cover cape, chest and gloves.
Is there any way to upgrade the lvl of gear? Example a legendary you received at lvl 20 can you upgrade that to your current lvl?
Thats why i keep my legendary items unidentified. When i get to max lvl i will identify them.

Question about traits is it better to put lvl 1,2 and 3 traits on gear of the same spell ? Or is it better just to have a few different lvl 3 traits of different spells ?
Traits do stack so if you find yourself using a spell with a quick cooldown often you could do all level 3. If you tend to use ones with longer cooldowns like confringo etc it might be better to add different traits and be more well rounded, just so when you’re fighting a group of enemies you aren’t waiting on that one spell’s cooldown to do significant damage
Haven't made it too far in the game but if you sell an item with a trait.. Is that trait now forever gone?
Once a trait has been woven into a piece of gear the resources used to weave that trait are gone forever. It doesn't matter if you sell it or not you can't get those resources back so you'll have to spend more resources if you want to weave that trait into another piece of gear.
Lvl 36, completed the game. Slowly completing all side content. Already beat all the arenas. All legendary armor pieces, concentration 3 trait, and full tier 3 upgrades. Only problem I have is which combination of cosmetics do I wear.
Can you tell me without spoilers : does the game lock stuff when you beat the game ? Side quests, locations etc ? Thanks

Though if you want to be a dark wizard as early as possible, follow the main quest because the Unforgiveable side quests are tied to it, some of Sebastian's quests are actually main quests. Otherwise, you can do everything afterwards. There's still dungeons to clear, quests to do, puzzles to solve. Only gripe I have is you can't change the weather back to fall or winter, you're just kinda stuck with perpetual spring. I spent most of my game in winter doing side quests and whatnot. Kinda why I ended up being low 30s by the end without hardly trying.
P.S. Enemies and dungeons respawn after 1 ingame day or 2 waiting periods. So even after 100%, you can go kill some bad guys still.

When I open the trait chest, it is not showing on the screen what I got, so I have to go into the field guide and look in Collections, then Traits to find the new one I got. It is a lot of trouble, so why won't it show on my screen right after I open the chest?

I don't understand the upgrade system fully yet so I haven't really been using it. Does the defense number go up as you upgrade? Coz I wonder why upgrade a piece of gear if you end up replacing it with a higher defense item with comparable traits. And then because there is no chest to store them in I identify the pieces and sell the inferior items.
Nope, the secondary stat goes up. It’s on the right and starts at 0.

Guys, do you think there will be a New Game+ ? I'm done with the story sadly... and I know the main part in the story is learning trough the different spells which could make it complicated when already obtaining these but not impossible or am I wrong ?
just depends if they want to do it. Jedi Fallen Order is the same way in that you need certain abilities as the game goes on to progress thoughout the story. you have to relearn the skills again in NG+ but you keep all your gear and cosmetics.

i mean the first couple of upgrades, depending on the type of the gear, is pretty cheap and from super common beast materials you get from the story. upgrading gear really isn’t needed at all though. not like the game is hard

As someone who just barely got to 37 after beating the story, all side quests, all Merlin trials, and collected 90% of pages... Yeah go ahead and upgrade your gear in your 30s since it takes forever between each level
@@davidwilliams3271 Yeah, your 30's go by REALLY slowly compared to earlier levels. Also, does gear cap out at a max of 100? Cus I haven't seen anything higher so far. If it does, then you might as well start making your end-game sets in your early 30's when it starts to cap out.

Been sidequesting notice depending of the perks you can increase damage to certain enemies or different spells. Just doing the alohamora quest and the merlin trials now but is there an upgrade system in the game that you can upgrade your gear

Yes, when you complete the quest to unlock the room of requirement, you’ll be able to summon your customized room with a loom stand, once you summon the loom stand and complete the beast capture step with Deek, you’ll be able to upgrade your clothes magic single handedly. Im on 60 percent and am lvl 40 and doing a full complete run and legends gear and am killing enemies in 4 hits so far
Arresto momentum is better for stopping beast as you can cast the capture twice before they start moving and it makes 3-4 cast captures super easy
I originally used arresto momentum but couldn't catch the unicorns in one shot. Using levioso I can catch them since when they fall it makes them stumble and the time it takes for them to stand back up is enough to fully capture them. With arresto momentum they just run straight away after the spell stops.

Multiple websites for this, you can remove all legends on the map, type the beasts name, then boom it shows you where they are on the map.. These websites work for all things in the game that has a map emblem/legend. Glhf

He used performance mode you can tell just by him having 60 fps. The graphics mode is locked 30 fps for ps5 and series x

When you say transmog system, do you mean the loom?
Transmog is the look of the clothing you give to it, like making your strong ugly glasses look like something you like to wear, or be invisible completely.

I have proof that there is a glitched revelio page in the bell tower wing that is preventing me from achieving the platinum trophy. Let's get this some light @JorRaptor so we can get this glitch fixed so people can start getting their platinum trophy on a PS5. Most videos here on TH-cam call that specific glitched page number 4 in the bell tower wing. It's the floating page outside of the herbology greenhouses. This NEEDS to be FIXED ASAP
