My favorite X game in the snes series and by far most awesome weapons and game play. Alot of people I know hated this one most and said this should've been the game to end the franchise with the dissatisfaction and disappointment
There are two particular things that MMX3 does well, especially for a megaman game: 1) The gimmicks it does use, it uses well. The mid-air dash is a gimmick, but it's well integrated throughout the level design and boss behaviour. 2) About that: Megaman bosses are all about patterns. If you can get used to the pattern, the boss is toast. A lot of the weapons are designed such that the player uses them in anticipation of the bosses next action, and the boss runs square into it. Which, is *much* more interesting gameplay than just: weapon A does +B damage to Boss C. MMX1 had weapons that would interrupt or disable the boss in some way, which felt like the boss was getting a handicap... MMX3 made it feel like you were trying to figure out the right tool for the job, much more satisfying.

Out of the original _Mega Man X_ trilogy on the Super NES, I would say that _X3_ was my most favorite. My main complaint with the game is that while they made Zero playable, Capcom only made him about 10 percent playable, and a one-life wonder (as in, if he dies, he's dead for good), which really made me feel like they shouldn't have made him playable at all. Fortunately, they would get it right with Zero in _X4_ . I also enjoyed the nuances in the game that I could spot, like Mac and Neon Tiger being minor homages to _X-Men_ 's Cyclops and Wolverine respectively (most likely because of the Marvel license Capcom had at the time), and the frozen metropolis that is Blizzard Buffalo's stage being seen in the background at the beginning of Crush Crawfish's stage. I have a copy of _MMX Collection_ on the PlayStation 2, and while the _MMX_ re-releases on it are pretty good, I'm disappointed that Capcom decided to use the European PS1 version of _X3_ . I actually liked and favored the Super NES version's OST and sound effects over the European PlayStation version's, which contained arranged versions of the OST and updated sound effects. Well, anyway, great playthrough.
Might be the most uneven of the SNES Mega Man X's, but it was my childhood favorite. It had playable Zero and MOAR Ride Armors! What more could I ask for? Also, that intro cinematic is so simple yet still gives me chills.
I really love this game. If I thought two games I Even though not as good as X1 and X2, X3 is still one of my favorites. You now have the ability to play as Zero, u can use 4 types of ride armors, great soundtrack, and etc.
Mega Man X, X2 and X3 are all incredible. I like X2 the most as I find it to be the deepest experience, but all 3 games have their unique qualities. X3 is definitely the hardest game out of the 3 games in my opinion, so kudos on mastering it. Why is TH-cam recommending all your Mega Man play throughs to me at this time of year? So random. I guess Mega Man is linked to Halloween in the YT algorithm! Anyways, I’m happy they are being recommended haha. Thanks Alex!
Would have been a nice touch if Capcom could have completed the Ryu trilogy in MMX 3. They had the Hadouken in X1 and the Dragon Punch in X2, but no Hurricane Kick in X3.
This, although I was glad that the requirements needed to get the badass Golden Armor in this game were a lot easier than the Hadouken and Shoryuken upgrades from _Mega Man X1_ and _X2_ respectively.
A Windows port of the 32-bit edition of Mega Man X was released in Japan in 1997 and in North America and Europe in 1998. The port versions feature additional animated full-motion video cutscenes, rearranged remixed music tracks, and completely different sound effects than the original SNES version.
1:15:10 I remember I had no idea that you had to use Gravity Well to raise the platform. Instead I struggled massively to reach the Armor Upgrade by mid-air dashing upwards.
I do have some gripes with this game: I'm not sure why they neutered the stage select screen. No names, specs, or description of stages. Also, the bosses, when they first appear on screen are a little lackluster from before. I enjoy the intro music for the bosses, as well as the addition of Bit & Byte, and the replay value in defeating them, though.
I couldn't remember how far I'd seen of the MMX games, but it seemed new to me. Good playthrough. Lots of abilities, some of the unique, like the 'mind map' fir hidden stuff. Vile was intense. And those energy refills were a must for Sigma. Good thing that rising fire/lava didn't insta-kill! Nice ending, though ominus w/Zero's future. Well done.
Mega Man X is like Street Fighter 2, it's a sequel that managed to get its own sequels. BTW, Played Mega Man X1 as my first mega man game. Liked it, didn't know there were 10 games afterward.

Right? It's like when you play an RPG sequel and your character starts at level 3 or something. I always end up being all like wtf happened to my level 70 badass from the end of the last game?
@J L: I think it can be argued that Mega Man X's architecture is like that of a PC in the sense that he can be upgraded and downgraded at will. Also, despite having the abilities to constantly upgrade himself into a badass, killer robot, X is really just a chill dude that only uses violence when he has no other choice. Either that, or he chooses to not let his upgrades define him.
MM X 3 has some of the best tunes in the entire trilogy. The music absolutely was NOT a downgrade. The only truly awful soundtrack for a MM X game was in the CD versions of Mega Man X3, which took a great soundtrack and neutered. You could argue the remixes in Maverick Hunter X on the PSP weren't great either, but it's all subjective.
I generally preferred the CD music. Some of the tracks were a bit weird tonally, but the fact that I wasn't listening to the grating guitar sounds was a total win in my book. Oh well, different strokes for different folks :)

Damn, the general consensus in here is that X3 sucks! It still has more stages and bosses to fight than X2 at least, and you can even get Zero's Z-Saber, a possible foreshadowing of X6?
Nope, the developer of Rockman X intended for the X series to end at X5,but the upper management saw the popularity of the X series, and demanded the X series to continue
@@weeyangtoh6049 - way late, but OP was referring to one of the Dr. Doppler stages, where if you use Zero for the sub boss, X would inherit Zero's Saber ability shortly after that fight (which is *extremely* helpful for the final boss). X then gets to use the Saber in X6 as part of his gear.

Everything in this game is skillfully programmed to take advantages of Mega Man's weaknesses. He can't duck, shoot up, he only walks 1 speed, he can't easily charge while dashing with "A" (why isn't "X" dash?), he recoils at a certain speed, he jumps at a certain height, and everything takes full advantage of all these things to relentlessly kill him. I consider everything to be cheating so I won't play this game without cheating with invincibility. That's the only thing that makes this game fun. And everything respawns too much.
Didn’t care for mega man until the x series came along I think it was cause they were able to do a real story by that time plus zero was just a cool character
This is just my personal opinion, but I don't think ending a game where Zero was the last nail in Sigma's coffin with "To save mankind, he must destroy Zero". Like, I get they were trying to build up a major plot point in the future series, but Zero so far has never been even hinted at as any kind of threat to anyone who isn't evil. To me, I dunno, just seemed like... they were trying to keep people excited for the future X games, but it also felt really out of place. But then again, X game endings tend to be kinda strange.
This right here. I think Capcom was originally planning on ending the _Mega Man X_ series with the next sequel or two to keep the series from getting bland, but the popularity, and, by proxy, money, kept it going longer than planned.
@NintendoComplete ...Not sure what your definition of "shrill" is, but to my ears, none of the music in this game is shrill, nor is it a downgrade from either of the first two games. If anything, it's an improvement over X2's music, which had a couple of flat-out bangers among its soundtrack AND didn't rely so heavily on guitars, but was ultimately forgettable. Mega Man X3's soundtrack is, IMO, almost as good as Mega Man X1 (although, let's be honest: Storm Eagle's level music ALONE puts X1's soundtrack MILES ahead of X2 or X3). ...Anyway, that's just my two cents on the music. Love your videos! Keep up the stellar gameplay!
I love the clean simplicity of your thumbnails and presentation. Correct aspect ratio. No border art. Beginning to end. Clean.

I love the innovation of X3, and the multiple endings are great, but the music just drags it down. I hate that I always end up turning the volume way down.

I have taken a intrest in mega man but don't know what to get, of mega man legacy collection, mega man X or mega man zero?
For some reason toxic seahorse is my favorite maverick hes just so cool ToT
Megaman X, X2, and X3 are solid and awesome games of the series. But X4? Now that what I called PERFECTION.

I don't know why people hate this game...
I DON'T.
I don't.
It's just harder than the previous 2 I played.
I don’t know who hate this game
Wait people hate this game?
Idk why. I heard the Ost about his and their are pretty good..
You never did get z saber
Well of he got the z-sabre then he wouldn't have got the good ending now wouldn't he?
@@Loader2K1 You're not wrong. I did hear X5 was supposed to be the last one.
Why have I started reading comments recently saying this game doesn't compare to the first two games?
Because most think it’s not as good. I agree but I still think it’s fun.

Wait, what? You started with Blizzard Buffalo? Weird choice.
