This is 100% true. I still struggle with OCD and intrusive thoughts but acceptance and sitting with my emotions has been the #1 most effective tool for me. It’s not easy but it works

I recovered from ocd with acceptance and sitting with discomfort

Can’t see it right now! Explain how you sit with the discomfort?

I get frustrated with the totality of my suffering. I must try to transcend this. I pray with the grain of faith I have that God will help me

You can do this! If you have OCD, look into ERP therapy, it’s the gold standard for treatment.

Wow. This is my brain and the whole reason I struggle with disabling OCD, anorexia, and debilitating anxiety that has caused me to lose my job, my friends, my fitness, and made it nearly impossible to leave my home.

Great video. Acceptance is key as opposed to fighting what enters our minds. Taking a neutral stance is the way to go.

Consuming thoughts and absorbing anxiety is the only real effective method that works for me. Ignoring thoughts works for a time, but this way I can completely purge my body from anxiety. Amazing, almost tantric experience.

I’d love to know more about this stuff … I’m working on acceptance for the first time after 30 years with anxiety

Thank you so much for this useful advice! Knowing that what is consuming our thoughts today will be different or viewed differently later, if thought of at all, really helps a lot!

Matt, do you do individual counseling? I have done many many videos on youtube and seen many therapists in person as well as been inpatient. You are the first person I feel that truly gets my symptoms. Please let me know if you do individualized counseling via zoom, etc. Thank you!

It is difficult to accept that you have been given a medicine that kills you. Ambien is deadly and I don't know how to cope with this! It gives me anxiety and panicked fatigue etc. Wish I could accept, it sounds so nice to just let go...

It’s not about accepting and internalising, it’s about accepting that thoughts are thoughts.
