Thank you Jason, I'm so glad to have discovered you. You simply explain everything so well and cover important details that others seem to gloss over or omit all together.
Fantastic video - and really clear.... but... but... but why would anyone do this when Pages, or even Word does things like text wrapping, ToC automatically and so on. What have I missed?
The aesthetics of the ebook. What can be created in Canva looks so much nicer than a word doc. So for a shorter ebook / one that doesn't have to be en epub format Canva is a good pick.
Kindle needs the book to be in an epub format which Canva doesn't provide. So you'll want to use a Google doc (because it can export in epub) for your actual ebook. Make the graphics in canva, export them, upload to the Google doc.
Thank you for this video! Okay, so I have an ebook already written in word and I uploaded it to Canva as a pdf, but how do I then apply a template to all of the pages so they have a border, etc...I'd like to use a template that is already created. Is there a way to do that? Or do I have to go through each page of my imported ebook and customize it? Thanks!
Thank you Jason, this has been so helpful. My question is if I am creating a 45 page e-book, do I need to duplicate 45 pages and then download my document or will it automatically duplicate the pages when I download the document.
This has been really helpful. Had a good blog post last week, realized it would be good for this. Whipped it together yesterday with your easy but very productive instructions. It looks great; wouldn't have thought of your design ideas. Question about links: I have a "Resources" section at the end. Should I link to some things that are mentioned in the actual content, e.g. I mention my book; should I insert a link in that, or is it possibly diverting them from the links i really want them to click on in the resources
Great information thank you. Question? Is it possible to merge two or more complete google docs in Canva? I typed 6 chapters separately how do i make it all one Thank You
Thanks for watching! You can upload the Docs into Canva separately and then join them together into a new project. OR if there isn't too many graphics and it's just text, the good old "copy and paste" method always works! hope this helps!
Is it legal to promote and create an ebook on a site? I mean I won't have to pay any registration fee any value added tax etc. Please someone who is sure about the answer let me know. Thanks
wwaaaaooww you are kidding, is it really so easy? I will start writing one right away 😂 but is it not better to upload directly a WORD document? in word we get at least the spelling check, automatic page numbers. thanks for sharing this valuable informations
That's true, you do get the spell check and automatic page numbers, it all depends on the design in which you are going for. So if that works best for you, mate, go for it! We find that Canva adds a nice touch of graphics to our ebooks in our creation process.
Hi! I created a book by Canva a year ago for my sales team. I used a lead magnet format and it doesn’t work, because now the book is over 60 pages long and it keeps changing and growing as I update it twice a year. Are these Canva eBook formats good for updates? Meaning that when I write more and create new chapters does Canva eBook automatically update the page numbers, chapter numbers and table of contents?
No, Unfortunately you'll have to update that yourself. Unlike Google Docs, it doesn't automatically update the page numbers or chapter numbers on the table of content. I hope this helps!
Unfortunately, you need to convert it to the ePUB Try making your ebook on google docs, create your graphics on canva, download each page as PNGs and put them in to the Google doc before turning it into an ePUB. Hope this helps!
Help! Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Does anyone know how to/or if you can create an ebook in Canva that has embedded video links? Since anything with a video converts better, it just makes sense to make this happen! Canva is allowing embedded videos in documents, though I have been hunting and hunting for a way to make this happen? Publishing it as a website? Anyone know the answer? I spent an hour the other day testing and searching tutorials, but I can't find a clear cut, efficient way to make this happen. I'd like to actually publish the ebook as a course and know that video is a must for this nowadays!
If I translated it right, sorry it wasn't as helpful , did you have a specific question you wanted answered? Sajnálom, hogy nem segített annyira - van konkrét kérdése
It is a pity that the pop-up blocks on your website cannot be moved to enable a person who makes use of it, a bit of advice to make your website more user-friendly, I have to compliment you on the overall of your website.
I believe Canva now has their Magic AI tool where you can insert a prompt in the templates or Elements tab to try and have it create a templated format for you. I often find that they are basic and need tweaking, but if you're short on time it would definitely help! When I made this video, the AI tool wasn't available yet.
Excellent, excellent teacher!!! Thank you so much. I only found you today!
God bless.

Great little tutorial
Thank you! Happy Canva creating :)
Thanks Jason. Question: why did you say not to use Canva for books for KDP? This is 2024 - has that changed? Many thanks!
Kindle needs the book to be in an epub format which Canva doesn't provide. So you'll want to use a Google doc (because it can export in epub) for your actual ebook. Make the graphics in canva, export them, upload to the Google doc.
You're a life-saver!
Thanks for your support! Glad I could help!
Excellent Tutorai. I'm just getting used to Canva and this really helped. You covered a lot in 21 mins. Loved it. I'm now a subscriber. 😁😁

Hey man, glad to hear it! Thanks for watching!
Thanks a lot for this valuable video
Glad you think so! Happy to have your support!
what do you do for ISBN on Canva?
Great information.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you Jason, this has been so helpful. My question is if I am creating a 45 page e-book, do I need to duplicate 45 pages and then download my document or will it automatically duplicate the pages when I download the document.
Hi Linda, thanks for watching! You can download it straight as a PDF to your computer/laptop. So no need to duplicate it!
This has been really helpful. Had a good blog post last week, realized it would be good for this. Whipped it together yesterday with your easy but very productive instructions. It looks great; wouldn't have thought of your design ideas. Question about links: I have a "Resources" section at the end. Hi! I definitely would put a link to those "resources" especially if they are affiliate resources. And having them at the end like you do would help!
Great information thank you.

Hi man, did you mean Canva's terms of service? Yes, you can sell what you make with canva
wwaaaaooww you are kidding, is it really so easy? I will start writing one right away 😂

It does not let me download, so am gonna have to pay subscription??
Hi, do you mean Canva doesn't let you download the ebook. You should be able to, even without a subscription but it may have watermarks.
Can you not export from Canva to PDF and upload to Amazon this way?
Unfortunately, you need to convert it to the ePUB
Try making your ebook on google docs, create your graphics on canva, download each page as PNGs and put them in to the Google doc before turning it into an ePUB. Hope this helps!

Nowadays, you can embed the video link straight onto the document by copy and pasting the link onto the page. Hope this helps!

Hi! Too time-consuming. Is there an AI APP that does it for you?
I believe Canva now has their Magic AI tool where you can insert a prompt in the templates or Elements tab to try and have it create a templated format for you. I often find that they are basic and need tweaking, but if you're short on time it would definitely help!
