Might be late. But a vortex is a combo that ends with your opponents only decision is to block. Giving this time you are able to either do an overhead or low. And since you're opponent can't do any moves yet since they're stunned or is in an animation. They are forced to guess whether you are going for an overhead or low. Guessing wrong would give you a full combo. Look up Smoke's mkx vortex. His 21 stuns your enemy for so long that it gives you the opportunity to use a mixup to continue the combo. And they can't do any move while they are stunned by that move. So once again, they are forced to guess low or overhead and guessing wrong would give you a free combo.
If you can beat Bat Girl you deserve to win. She is the most over powered, over used, character in that whole game. I see more Bat girls in these tournaments than any other character.
I did see him in MKX, not saying he's not talented, but from what I saw he tends to use the same damn combo 10 times in a round, which may be smart and shows that his opponent is not that great at adapting, but he doesn't show as much variety as you'd expect from a player of his caliper, you can say he's a bit boring even if it works for him, in my humble as fuck opinion.
Maximus Alexis In competitive they have no reason for showing you different flashy combos. The combos they use depends on its mix up capability, pressure and damage so only the best will be used. you don't get style points.

The life was gone before I could even make a decision.
