- This is an in-depth video review of the Thar Roxx Petrol AT in Stealth Black, including Pros and Cons of this variant versus other variants. In this review, I cover the exterior and interior features of this variant, the pros and cons of buying the MX3 versus other variants, modifications that have made to the Car such as alloy wheels, and also some of the drawbacks of the Thar Roxx. The video was shot on an iPhone 16 with brilliant clarity and resolution, and I'm sure it'll be a treat to the eyes for the auto fans.
Mahindra created a Marvel with a Thar Roxx. They took an already successful formula of the three door made extensive modifications, including creating an the M-glide platform. They have added tons of safety features and a great deal of space to the three door Thar to create the Roxx.
Stealth Black is one of the best colours to buy the Roxx in. The weird shape of the overlay over the rare door that is so visible in the other variance and colours is almost invisible in the MX3 Stealth black. This variant has body colour paint and not Matt black on the top fringe of the body. This makes the integration of the various parts, especially in the rare quarter really seamless.
The MX3 variant is loaded with the right balance of features versus value for money. The variant has all safety features of the top end except ADAS. It is all comfort features such as cruise control, rare washer/wiper, rear AC, LED head lamps, and many many more. I think Mahindra made a mistake in the pricing of this variant. In all other variants of the Roxx, the petrol AT is ₹50,000 cheaper than the equivalent diesel AT. However, in the case the MX3 P AT, it is ₹2,50,000 cheaper than the MX3 D AT. I expect Mahindra to soon fix this mistake and check up the price of the MX 3PAT to 16.99 lakhs from 14.99 lakhs.
The petrol AT combination in the Roxx is stunningly, powerful get the same tune as in the top and AX7L petrol, with 175 hp and 380 NM of Torque. Whereas in the diesel AT, the lower variants have lower state of tune., I'm sure the Petrol AT will do 0-100 run in 10 seconds for such a big boxy SUV. The petrol engine with the automatic transmission just shoots it forward and unimaginable pace. Even in the zip mode, the car is really fast and faster still on the zoom mode..
The petrol engine up-shifts late around 2000 rpm, making sure that you're always in the meat of the power band. All it takes is a dab on the throttle at any speed, for this beast rush forward. The full 380 Newton metres of torque lunges the car forward and you feel pushed back to your seat. I could not believe that I was having hot-hatch levels of fun with such a huge SUV. The engine is that powerful.
At first, I thought you are new to cars but just after few minutes, I saw the devil eyes beside the thar and I got to know that we have a serious business now. 😍
Thank you!
This is great video , I think you should more of these kind of videos.
Glad you liked it! I plan on making more videos like this, so stay tuned!
Good one!!! Very detailed!!

Hi . We have also booked THAR ROXX MX3 SLEATH BLACK COLOUR PETROL AUTOMATIC. My delivery Date was 18/11/2024 to 18/12/2024. I have contacted my dealership they had told that your car had not been billed to us yet. And please tell delivery process, that is any booking id printed on the bill of car or on the car?? And confirnation would be given by whom Mahindra or dealership? Can you also tell my Expected delivery date had also passed. What do i do ?
@@Psgame70 Please write to Mahindra customer care and copy the manager of your dealership.
@autoandart8832 From where you got message? From Mahindra or from dealer for delivery?
@@Psgame70 From Mahindra but I made online booking.
Thanks for sharing this, thoroughly enjoyed watching.
In your next video, please post a drive review. Ofcourse, take help from others to shoot the video while you drive and review 🙂
Sure, will do a drive review in my next video - but let me tell you, driving it is a hoot!
Hi am from Chennai and have booked same variant. I noticed a mention about on road price was at 18.2l. my dealer has quoted 19.8. may I know which dealership in Chennai you booked in Chennai. I find MM a little cheaper but not at the rate you have quoted. Kivraj is the most expensive... Any suggestions to get the rate negotiated...
I calculated 14.99 + 18% road tax + Around 50K for insurance = 18.2L - Don't take expensive insurance from dealer, just buy it from PolicyBazaar. Also refuse any mandatory accessories.
You can write to Mahindra Customer care if dealer demands you take inflated insurance from them or try to force you to buy accessories you do not need. You need not consider TCS in on-rad price as it comes back to you when you file tax returns.
@autoandart8832 noted. Thank you for the response in detail.
@autoandart8832 and you bought it from which dealership?
@@DeepakKumar-zp9vr how much the dealer is charging you for insurance + zero dept..

very detailed review 👍MX3 AT P is best VFM T Roxx with all essentials & some can add afterwords .. myself booked little late Hope M&M commits delviery !!
@@SanKiranKReddy absolutely, in all other variants (MX5, AX5L etc.), the difference between Petrol AT and Diesel AT is just Rs. 50,000. In case MX3 alone, the petrol AT is cheaper than the Diesel AT by Rs. 2,50,000! You straightaway save 2 lakhs on ex-showroom price (around 2.5 lakhs in on-road price) by going for MX3 Petrol AT over Diesel AT (MX3 P AT is Rs. 14.99 lakhs instead of Rs. 17.49 lakhs for MX3 D AT). Plus, MX3 Petrol AT comes with rear disc brakes, while the much more expensive D AT comes with only drum brakes in the rear.
Rear C shape red led works ?
@@parwindersingh-od3yn Yes rear ones work very well.
Did you installed the alloy wheels from company..
If yes then whats the price for those ?
Also how muc did you paid for insurance
Mahindra charges 12,000 per alloy wheel I believe. I got it from tire dealer, Someone with an AX5L had just changed to larger aftermarket non-Mahindra alloys at this guy's place and I was lucky to get the stock alloys for Rs. 35,000 for a set of 5.
I am also planning to buy this variant mx3 petrol automatic but very nervous about the mileage some youtuber claiming about getting 5-6kmpl average in the bumper to bumper traffic ?
What mileage you are getting in the city traffic?
Also this will be my primary car so planning to do the trip in every 2-3 month rest the vehicle not be use so much
Also in a month i will not drive more than 500Km
so what do you prefer to go with the petrol or diesel car for me?
The difference in petrol and diesel AT is 2lakh
Go for Petrol eyes closed. Your yearly running is 6000 km only, so even in an extreme case assuming get 6 kpl on Petrol and 9 kpl on diesel, you need 1000 litres of petrol versus 670 litres of diesel per year. The difference in fuel expense per year is only 330*100+670*10 = 40,000. You will need to run the diesel for 8 years to break even with the petrol, as on-road price difference will be close to 3 lakhs between MX3 PAT and MX3 DAT.
Mist importantly, you get a detuned less powerful diesel mHawk in MX3. But you get the full power petrol with 175 HP and 370NM. It is a hoot to drive!
@@sivk9963 Yes, Petrol AT is SWEEEET to drive!

how does the manual mode in transmission even work? like there isn't any paddle shifters ?
You can slide the gear lever to the left and nudge it up/down to shift manually. But the vehicle will shift to a higher gear only if RPM is > 1900 or so.
Correct, it only works for downshifts, seldom works for upshifts.
@@autoandart8832 got it, thanks. Would've loved if it had paddle shifters but ah well, I'll be booking it after it comes in CSD.
@@sivk9963 ah got it, also how does the descent assist work? like does it physically brake using brakes or with downshifting for engine braking or something?
@@kumalaalaasavestaa You just turn on Hill Descent Control when going steep downhill and take your foot off the accelerator and brake. It is will brake itself as needed and get you down safely.
Wired Apple car play working ? , If yes , please comment plaess
@@parwindersingh-od3yn No, not working yet but I expect it to in a few months once Mahindra releases the update.
What floor mats are those?
@@logancoutinho21 GFX - they are the best, custom made for Thar Roxx. You can get them from carhatke.com for about Rs. 4000 for a set covering front and rear row.
I hate the 7D ones with multiple design patterns and textures. Just love the convenience, fit and finish of the GFX ones. I had these on my Thar 3 door too. Just remove the bucketed mat which has raised edges to trap the dirt and dump the dirt out. They are made of ruddy plastic, and can withstand mud and rough stones too and will last longer than the car itself!
Nice vlog👌 However two other important features (besides alloy wheels & fog lamps) that the MX3 variant misses out in comparison to MX5/higher variants are (a) Acoustic windshield (leading to better noise insulation/NVH levels & (b) Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
Yes, however, the cabin is eerily quiet even in the MX3. One can always switch out the windshield to Acoustic one without a major cost later on (around Rs. 8000). Yes TPMS is a miss, but I never had a flat tire on my 3 door and TPMS was more of a bother throwing error messages when the pressure dipped even slightly and forcing a visit to the pump to refill. Also TPMS can be fitted aftermarket as well.
Alloy wheel cost please brother
From dealer it is 12K per wheel I believe.
@@chandu2477 I got it aftermarket for 7K per wheel, 35K for a set of 5. Got lucky as someone with AX5L just upgraded at the tyre shop to larger wheels.
If AX5L you should have changed tyres as well to 19"? How much did tyres+ alloy costed you? @@autoandart8832
