The Green Bay Packers were huge fans of the first movie. The Pitch Perfect producers approached them and asked if they wanted to be in the second movie because they were always talking about how much they loved the movie. They showed up on set and did the whole finale number from the first movie, back to front.

You were right, "Flashlight" was written by Sia and Sam Smith(among others). I don't love the song in the movie but I did like it a lot more when I heard Jessie J sing it. I think her vocal style is a lot more dynamic and interesting than what they do in the movie.

The queerbaiting aspect mainly came from a promo for the 3rd film where it looked like the two were going in for a kiss then there was no romance between them in the final film. Also thanks for acknowledging how Cynthia's behaviour really shouldn't be played as a joke and should have been way toned down! Its always bothered me how the lesbian is show to be predatory. Great video though, still love these films despite some faults.

@@themoviebudz1988 It‘s definitely self parody,and it‘s all the more apparent for German viewers.Flula‘s whole career is built onto playing into those stereotypes and he‘s pretty successful with it.People find him funny - Germans mostly because we love some self-irony and foreigners...well I couldn‘t say,really.Is it for the same reason or are they just laughing at how silly he seems and assume this is an accurate representation of German people?
In any case,I don‘t have a problem with him playing into the stereotypes,it really just depends on how his shtick is received.The idea is to ridicule the stereotypes,though in some ways it leads to them being reinforced...not his fault though,just down to the ignorance of the viewer.I can find the humor in that, but sometimes it can get annoying when you‘re confronted with it in real life.

so it always feels like it’s a parody or satire of how germans are perceived in western media
As an english person he’s one of my favorite german actors because he’s committed, talented and totally contradicts the stereotype that germans have no sense of humor.
I really get that the German stereotype has it‘s place in comedy, sometimes I really do find it funny and Flula Borg has enough comedic charisma to bring that across. But also I find it so exhausting that (at least in my experience) once a character in Hollywood movies is German it‘s immediately a big part of their personality.

I love how this movie franchise gives people a new appreciation for a cappella music. I am the director of my school's all female a cappella group and it's seriously so much fun but everyone still thinks we're nerds because being in a music group is "cringy" when in actuality it's so incredible. The third movie was my least favorite one in the series.
They absolutely lifted some of the plot for this movie straight from Pentatonix. Who are indeed American lol. The Christmas album stuff, the needing originals, the different performance venues (like performing for the obamas) etc. They do have a small cameo as a Canadian Group in this movie, but it’s kind of annoying that they sort of structured the movie after their career and never gave them much credit.
Ohhh, see I thought their cameo was just a fun little addition for a capella fans. Did not know so much of it was influenced by them... kinda sucks they didn’t get any real credit - Sam

In place of lollipop the treble makers had sang locked out of heaven by bruno mars when welcoming the new students to the school. I liked that performance a little better. Idk why they switched that performance out with the lollipop performance in the movie instead. You can find the performance to locked out of heaven on TH-cam so they shot it for the movie so maybe it was on the DVD or blu-ray if people bought it but just not in the movie🤷

Yeah when I saw the movie I kept thinking that song was only okay but not spectacular or interesting really. They made such a big point of putting it throughout the movie too like it was the best song ever

Flashlight is the worst song in the whole movie. I literally can't stand it.
We have pillow fights but the feathers never fly like that and it always gets so violent and we have to stop because someone always gets hurt or their feelings hurt.
Pillow fights are a real thing, but it always ends with something broken, it could be a vase or human bones 😂

Surprised you two didn't seem to know who Flula Borg (German dude) is! He's also a real life musician, he's actually primarily a stage hype man for other musicians, and these days a bit of a comedian and actor (I feel like his other big role is in The Suicide Squad). His YT channel is pretty inactive these days but that's where I first started seeing him and he always posted the most random and hilarious, but also kind of wholesome, stuff
And yes, pillowfights like that are a movie thing. Pillows are too expensive to destroy them like this.

Tulsa, Oklahoma is actually an upcoming city. Oklahoma is a not so great but Tulsa (and Oklahoma City) is a good city. A lot of engineering jobs and other things are in Tulsa (some great scenery too). Also, it’s very affordable to live in.
I lived in Germany for a while when I was a kid and I was shocked that they weren’t all wearing lederhosen and they weren’t all blonde and chiselled. 😂 Although they were all tall but everyone is tall to me (I’m 4’10) 😂 I had gotten that stereotype from American representation of Germans on TV 🙈 I moved to Ireland when I was 17 and I love it here but I do miss Germany. I’ve never met a single German that is anything like how they are presented . ❤️

I like this movie, but like with the og there are parts I need to skip when watching. First one has the horrible projectile vomit scenes, cannot watch that. This second one has two second hand embarrassment scenes that make me feel physical pain (both because of the new girl played by Haylee Steinfield)
