The bespoke build set is amazing. Honeywell is a genius. I can't imagine starting a new hood without it anymore. The only time I didn't use it was in the BACC, because it was too pretty for that setting. 😊 This was another great renovation! Love how it came out and just adding some trees and paths and stuff, adds so much to the overall look of the house. That townhouse! lol it really is so ugly. I moved a family into that house years ago, without making any changes. Because back then I really didn't care how a house looked and it was all function over form. But that townhouse, it's not just ugly, it's also really weird to play! Something just doesn't flow when they're going about their day. The kitchen is upstairs, which I actually like, but the area downstairs is just awkward and I still don't really know what to do with it. Is it an extra bedroom, does it need it's own bathroom? Is it an office space? And they also keep using the back door for no apparent reason, where you would expect them to go up the stairs and use the front entrance. And if you do make it an extra bedroom downstairs, everyone parking the car in the garage just walks right through it when they come in. It's just a really, really weird building. And it needs some love (and a sledgehammer in some areas), I think. 😊 So true, about all the American style houses in the sims. I love that style, but mostly because I know it from movies I watched growing up. If I would build the houses I see when I look out the window, it would all look so boring! I just don't think the (older) architecture in my country is very interesting to recreate. American suburbs just have this cozy style that fits my mood when playing the sims I guess, but most of the time I have no idea what I'm doing, because it's still very foreign to me. Oh and your rants are equally so relating and so funny, always makes me smile listening to it. ❤
i cannot start a hood without the bespoke build set! there's so many little things in that set that can elevate a build. even in my more grungy, historical 'hood, it needs to be used! and oh god the townhouse. where do i even start with it? where can i even start with it? the list of things wrong with it is longer than the things i like,,, i'm dreading its makeover i'm being so real. i can only imagine the nightmare routing. american houses have this nice and cosy vibe! i'm european so rn the house i'm in is literally a rectangle of brick. it's so hideous to look at! at least american houses have this nice aesthetic, uk houses are just slabs of brick and mortar.
