Most of their songs are sung in their native Mongolian. This one , however, uses a language created just for STAR WARS. The song is also called Black Thunder and was made for the movies.
They are outstanding live. I saw them open for Halestorm last fall.
There are 8 of them. 4 regulars and 4 touring musicians.
3 of their songs have been redone with new English lyrics and guest vocalists.
Wolf Totem with Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach)
Yuve Yuve Yu with Danny Case (From Ashes to New)
Song of Women with Lzzy Hale (Halestorm)
They use traditional Mongolian instruments along with the standard guitar ,bass, and drums, and they combine their folk music with metal using traditional throat singing.

You are correct on everything, such informations. But little bit mistake, Black Thunder never made for movie. Also I doubt on Danny Case ft, it never released officialy.

The instrument (cello you called it) is a horse head fiddle (or morin khuur) it's a traditional Mongolian instrument
Traditionally the strings were actually made from horse hair, I'm not sure if the one he is using is.
The noise is meant to sound like a horse neighing

"Yuve Yuve Yu" and "Wolf Totem" are two great original songs by them.
And they also did an outstanding cover of Metallica's "Sad but true".
All of the above worth checking out (among others of course, but these would be my suggestions) :-)

    I. LOVE. THIS. Never heard of them, but their metal style is awesome. Nice commentary, I thought I heard something resembling the music in those old Western movies. Must be the violin instruments. Sometimes it sounded very Russian. Looking forward to hearing some more The Hu!!

Not Russian. Mongolian. This is (excluding the electric instruments) what Ghengis Khan would have listened to when he decimated the Roman Empire, And had his Horde kill 14% of the world's population.

The instruments are modernised versions of traditional instruments. The instruments played with the bow are Morin Khuur (horse head fiddles). They only have two strings and the female strings was originally made from 105 hairs from a mare’s tail, the male string was made from 130 hairs from a stallion’s tail. The other traditional string instrument is the tovshuur which can have 2 or 3 strings, the one being played here by Temka has three strings. All the members of the band are classically trained at the Conservatory of Music in UlaanBataar and they can play multiple instruments.

They would be an opening act for Sabaton European tour in 2022, im not sure if they will still do the opening after it was moved to 2023.
I definitely hope so, because I really want to see them live.

I think that the Hu are extremely talented and thought history Mongol had inspired strength. The instrumental and vocal seems to reach ones very being a call to rise in Wisdom and strength for individual self and thankfully they share that with America! Rock on Gentlemen and Thank you. Outstanding! Exactly

This song was not "found" by the production team, it was written specifically for the game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and uses a fictional language created just for this song. That's why you see a lightsaber in the opening of this video, it's a replica of the lightsaber you start with in the game.

"Wolf Totem" ( th-cam.com/video/jM8dCGIm6yc/w-d-xo.html ) and their cover of Metallica's "Sad But True" ( th-cam.com/video/QpxA_ZxGX_M/w-d-xo.html ) will blow your mind. Also check out Hanggai and Hassak -- just amazing. They're throat singers too. Tip: Mongolians don't like it when you mention that Genghis Khan only killed 40 million people (1 out of ten humans alive then). See, if he'd only made it to 42 million, he could have gotten a free submarine sandwich and a Coke. They're real touchy about that. 😉 Thanks! PEACE!!!

OK, what really happened here. I read an article on this particular song. Yes by the profile im a star wars guru. Anyways, a representative from Lucas arts/film came to see this band and gave them a script to perform. The Hu told the fellow that he needs time to translate it into his language so everyone understands the composure. He also said that he would most likely need to make some tweeks here and there. The representative said it's understandable what you request and said have at it. The Hu set up a meeting to have the representative hear them do a live recording. As they played he was blown away and called his boss said listen and this is what we got in the game. The first recording. EPIC

Mongolian Throat Singing similar to Finnish Yoiking for lack of a better comparison. If you've ever heard Korpiklaani, you've heard Yoiking. Closest European equivalent to The Hu. In my horribly uneducated opinion. So please, don't be mean if I'm way off.
