Interesting note, the Ewok language is basically the Kalmyk language, which is a mongolian descendant spoken by the Kalmyk in russia. Which might explain why mongolian sounds so alien to western audiences, literal aliens in the original trilogy were speaking mongolian

The song is integrated into the game in two ways. First, Cal is listening to it on headphones while he's working in the opening scene. Then, partway through the story, you get captured and have to fight in some gladiator matches, where it comes up again, being played over the loudspeakers and Cal comments that it's a favorite song of his.

Their throat singing has a deep spiritual significance in not just ancient Mongolian culture, but many cultures around the world. Some of the earliest exposure English scholars had to throat singing was when the old Norse began raiding western Europe. When they began studying Norse culture, they took note that they "sang like dogs", and they thought it was very strange that they sang like dogs, which was later named "throat singing". There are differences between all the forms of throat singing from around the world, but what remains the same is its significance not just to their respective ancient music, but to their spiritual and religious aspects of their culture. the most common theme is that it positively affects the soul, whether that's cleansing it, soothing it, or just simply focusing it (it's different for every culture).
As a Dane myself, and more specifically a practicing Forn Sidr/Asatru (go ahead with the hate comments for admitting that one, trust me I've heard it all before), I have studied applications of throat singing throughout history, both ancient and modern. This band in particular seems to use it for less of its deep understanding of its true significance and more for its undeniable entertainment value. There's nothing wrong with that since it's not sacred or anything like that, it's just a harmless observation. Needless to say though, The HU is probably my favorite band. They're not just good musicians, they're great people as well.

All of their Music has an elements of Traditional Mongolian Culture to Epic High Energy Vibes which seems to effect me personally each and every time I listen. I would encourage you to review a more traditionally Mongolian Style “Legend of Mother Swan” ...”Song of Women” or the higher energetic “This is Mongol”. @rotherthies 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Yeah the game system doesn't work that way. So unless you played up to that part and then completely started over on a new save to finish the game, neither of you have that.
If you both did do that, fuckin why? Never heard of "let's play"!? complete waste of time. That entire boss fight is easy on the hardest setting, that whole set piece is a time filler and a narrative excuse to populate previously empty areas with mini bosses for when/if you go back for collectibles. The ONLY notable thing about that section of the game is the music, so I HIGHLY doubt either of you actually did this, however if you actually did, you both wasted at least 10 hours of your lifes. Just Sayin..

@Christopher King just have to export a save and it's done -_-'
And no it's not a complete waist of time. I don't know for William, but me I love PLAYING this moment, not just watching it.
After, that you don't like this moment, it's your problem. Me, I do. Not for the difficulty (i don't need to feel difficulty to enjoy a game), but for the mood in it.
I do that in a lot of game, when I particularly enjoy a moment and like to play it without having to do all the way to it again (hi RPGs, mostly)

The Great Chinggis Khaan is my personal favorite song from The Hu, though I glaldy listen to everything they have released. As an athlete, their debut album, The Gereg, is my go-to listen before a race or other competition. Their music ranges from a more folk-oriented and calming nature (songs like Shireg Shireg, album version of Song of Women) to a "let's conquer most of Asia and Eastern Europe" nature (songs like Wolf Totem, The Great Chinggis Khaan). 47:42 of music to get myself both relaxed and hyped up, and for some reason it works like a charm every time.

Actually to correct a lot of people, the first half of the songs lyrics are made up for this, entirely different from Black Thunder. However, the quicker latter half of the song retains the same original Mongolian lyrics from Black Thunder; "har ayanga" repeated. Have you had a change to play the game yet? (This song is not only diegetic in one part but also is present in a second part of the game. :) (this is actually one of the few video games that I have played all the way through). This, and many other songs of theirs are on my running playlist.
And yes, The HU are fantastic. If you get a chance to see them in person, i recommend it. I had the chance to do that in Nashville at a small venue and it was brilliant. They performed this one at the concert in Mongolian but this version is in a language they worked on with the game developers that is specifically a Star Wars language now!
Weirdly, as I was listening to your reactions to this, I was wondering if you had heard or watched this live performance of this song from Battlestar Galactica: "Apocalypse (live)" (link to the video: th-cam.com/video/U-tUbTU0jIA/w-d-xo.html)

The Hu explained that they created an unique or heaven's language only for this song (Star wars game). They only use few Mongolian words.

I'm sure someone already filled you in, but in case they haven't, the main character of Jedi: Fallen Order, Cal Kestus is listening to this song early in the game while he does his mundane job. He's a Jedi Padawan who's escaped Order 66 and living in hiding 5 years after Revenge of the Sith. The song for the most part is a completely made up language for the Star Wars galaxy, with some Mongolian snuck in by the band cause, fuck it! It's their creation. And it's awesome.
