- Pipes courtesy of Pandemonium Customs - check em out. Dan is good people, and Hugh's HandBuilt Approved.
We've gotten lots of requests for the sound of different pipes on our 277 Rephased Engines. Dan sent us a set of his pipes, so we test fitted em and fired up an XS2 Engine. Now the XS2 is a factory Long Rod engine, being a 256 Series engine. The rest of this engine is 100% stock internally.
Enjoy the video folks - and if you or your company wants to hear a set of pipes on one of our Rephased XS650 engines, send em in! We'll make it happen for you.

Oh yeah, it sounds great.
Stunning
what a sweet engine .....the pipes ain't bad either .
Awesome sounds great to
You have a wiring diagram or more pictures of how you have that set up to "bench test" the motor. I am looking to do that before putting my engine in the frame to find out. Thanks! Pipes sound rad with the rephase job!
Love it
When I first saw the title I thought it said "Yo Yo Ma." Cello? Hugh's gone into unknown territory.
do the straight pipes, with pretty much zero back pressure, provide enough low-end torque?
Ok...why 277 over a 270 re-phase? What does the 7 degrees do? I have a '73 with a 256 motor and I am considering having Hughs do a rephase for me.
Wicked
are those straight pipes or do they have baffles
can you film a 70 mile an hour rideby please .. the pipes would sound so cool.. in bike of course don't put the engine in the back of a pickup truck and drive past ..LOL
HAHAHA sry 3 year reply but thats hillarious
@Tom Gorsuch I can play cello :)
um, no..... they fire interdependently whether its rephased or not.
