    It's tough to beat germanium (the red one) for smoothness and guitar-volume-knob cleanup. For me, being able to create varying degrees of grit via the guitar's volume is of the utmost importance. Plus, that creamy smoothness is more musical sounding. I'll take the red one (germanium).

    I ordered the Germanium one tonight. The third blue one on the right in the video sounded pretty nice as well. I've been wanting to get a germanium fuzzface for a bit now. I like the mini because it can take an output power supply. This is the second fuzz I've ever purchased. My first is the "somewhat" sought after Boss FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz. With this pedal you can get the Doors "Hello I love you" tone just right. Nice job on the demo like always Gearmandude!

    I've got one, after originally going for the jimi one i returned it. it was by no means bad it just didnt work with my rig. i tried it with others and it was beautiful but it just didn't suit mine. i exchanged for there red one and i love it. the red one cleans up really well, its my mane pedal now. it can go from really crunchy, to really trebly rock n rolly stuff to out of control fuzz to laid back clean and everything in between with a simple twist. great wee pedal i must say

      ***** This week I tried both the FFM1 and FFM2. I bought the former based on videos, but after trying it out for a few minutes I discovered there was a hideous volume drop that made it practically unusable; no dynamics, weak cleanup, etc. I upgraded to the Germanium model and it works much better, but probably not as well as the Hendrix model (of which I have a full size).

    • @qddk9545
      @qddk9545 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, and there is actually something to it. A lot of people laughed at Eric Johnson when he said he could hear a difference depending on the type of batteries.
      And there is a good explanation for this. A new type battery and a power supply has a very low internal resistance - less than 1 ohm - where the old cheap batteries
      can have up to 1000 ohms resistance.
      That will limit the battery's ability to release power quickly, and that will of course influence the sound ... So no real magic there.
