It also will teach the user how to perform basic maintenance as it's required for the longevity of the rotary engine and those skills translate to any other future vehicles. I'm just surprised my RX-8 made it 120k without a rebuild.
2:41 I wish this applied to ALL cars. Cars are meant to be used and enjoyed, not kept behind 50 diffrent safety precautions just to prevent a spec of dust from reaching the paint. If you want to keep your car exactly like the day you bought it, fine, you do you. But dont stockpile cars like the federal reserve stockpiles gold because its the average car fan who gets screwed in the end.
LETS GO the accord V6 coupe! I have a 2013 accord v6 coupe with a 6 speed manual! FBO, lowered, enkeis, tuned, pushing 330hp. Love it, the old ones are sick too.
The whole video i was praying for you not to mention the sc300 since it was the car i was eyeing up to replace my old civic with... guess i can throw that idea out the window now. Though if i did have an sc300 rn i would be laughing
You still have the chance. There are a lot (and i mean A LOT) of them still up and running. I bought one this year, one of the most fun cars i ever driven. And if shit happens and they do go up in prices you can still try to find Soarer which is the same car with even more features (the only downside it is a right-hand drive)
For the eventual "Cars not ruined by clout" you should add the 80s Cutlass/Regal/Monte Carlo. Despite being a rapper's car for it's time, they're quite under the radar now. I scooped one up for a thousand bucks a few years ago with the v8 and all interior options.
My favorite car I ever owned was an 07 Accord Coupe V6 with the 6speed. That car was a certified sleeper. If you can find a 7th Gen you won't be disappointed.
Galant has been on my watchlist for years now. It looks like it has track based chasis. I believe any car enthusiaist who sees its wheel geometry realises that car is something else.
I've wanted a Z32 since I was a kid. A friend of mine bought a twin turbo one, and he loved it. I was so happy for him. It was an awesome car. I had a '76 280Z, and I absolutely loved it. That thing always put a smile on my face, and my heart was broken for years after I lost it in flood waters.
Man 300ZX's are absolutely beautiful. Im glad they got overlooked by the clout boys, because they dont deserve the fate so often bestowed upon clout cars.
11:32 This is actually super interesting to think about, because realistically there buy-n-large the same car right? So WHY wouldn't it have? It's fascinating to think just how much influence the internet can have on not only cars but other things too. Imagine a world where people never felt pressured to chase clout....
Cool video! Hopefully it doesn't have the opposite effect on some of these. Also, to add to your clarification in the video, the Accord didn't share an engine with the NSX. It was a completely different family of engines. The NSX used the C30A or C32B V6 with DOHC and VTEC. The V6 in the Accord is a J-series that succeeds the C-series and is still used in most V6 equipped Honda's today.
@younglightin5 yeah, I noticed the American car crowd shames anything less than a v8, meanwhile jdm fans seem to love their I6s. To me, idc how many cylinders a car has, as long as it looks, sounds, and drives good.
Guy near me has a z31 and he has it fully stocked not as a purist but hoping they will go up in value lmao. This guy cleans the engine bay every other weekend if he cans. Car is literally pristine
The Toyota Sera isn’t also ruined by clout. It has literal Wing Doors and nobody talks about them. It is also an JDM car but isn’t the ,,FaStesT‘‘ car in the world. But it is also quite fun to drive.
@@joelcruz9415 they aren’t made in the US, but they are on sale for around 5k to 10k. they are indeead imported, not produced from the US, but remember, most JDM cars are imported (same as kei trucks). Also, that wouldn’t explain why even most R32’s were bought by the Americans.
@@TheProtogenBoi8902 That's because the R32 is a great platform with a lot of potential for the enthusiast. The Sera is just a slow boring car with cool doors. That's like wondering why people want mustangs in Europe but not the Chevy Cavalier.

Oh boy. There goes the project car lol. Honestly I've been sitting on a aw11 mr2 that needs an engine rebuild for a while now, and only reason I haven't started is the funds. But watching the market makes me just want to sit on it for a few more years then sell it for a decent profit.
There is a HUGE DIFFERENCE between A 2jzge and a 2jzgte like different compression ratios and forged rods the Na has naturally higher compression and the GTE Lower Compression Ratio to push boost safely. The NA also comes in the Toyota Altezza aka the Lexus is300.
i may not understand what they mean by Clout Ruined but the only car on this list not ruined are the V6 Accord and Z31. The Galant V4 and SC300 Went up and held value. 300Z are ruined because those are known drift cars. The are normally sold incomplete or damaged. Del Sols are ruined because the inflation of 1989-2000 Civics. B series engines are scarce and part costs are going up. You are not going to find one that is "clean", they're just as modified as that generation of civics and hard to find reasonable without having to put alot of work to them.
I recently bought a 2000 Mazda Protege for just under 3k, she runs and drives perfectly and is only slightly cosmetically flawed; garage kept for 12 years. Can't wait to breathe some new life into her down the line!
6:40 i love this metaphor im 25 now and dreamed when i was 16 about owning someday a nice r34 one day didnt even have to be an gtr or gts just a normal one but damn clout really got me with this one so only when i hit the jackpot the skyline dream can be achieved
I was a big DSM guy back in the day. I had a 1992 Galant VR4 . Specifically, nbr 134/1000. I miss that thing so much. Selling it is one of the biggest regrets of my life.
I recently bought an 89 Accord coupe for a couple hundred, replaced the alternator, front cam seal, and starter. Runs like a dream. Now to ruin that and build her into something that Honda never intended... Accord coupes are heavily underrated though.
I was so happy to see the Galant right off the bat. I've owned my 98 Legnum VR4 for 6 years now. The Legnum is just the wagon version the Galant. Absolute weapon and a lot of parts are swappable with Evo's. I've got a Evo transfer case, Evo Mechanical LSD, brembos and much more. Definitely more than enough power for the street hahaha.
I have a 2009 Honda Accord 3.5L V6 sedan with the vtec which I bought for $5K. Still runs great even though the check engine light randomly comes on and off at times
Great vid. I drive a Mazdaspeed 6. It's a WRX for adults. 300HP (with a few bolt ons) AWD, turbo inline 4, with a six speed. No clout no one cares and only mazda fans even notice it. Keep up the great content. Stay Happy and Healthy.
The 300ZX is overcomplicated and kickstarted the Nissan routine of having ridiculous service prices. Also they only got 300HP out of a TWIN TURBO POWERPLANT. That’s the forced induction equivalent of 8L V8 Cadillacs producing only 190HP. The car isn’t ruined by fanboys because from the jump, it was already disappointing. When you mention these cars, make sure to include all factors besides the price and the performance, so somebody doesn’t make an impulsive decision they might regret.
I don’t wanna hear any talk about “didn’t ask” “well since you’re the car expert..” or “i got this many subscribers so i’m clearly doing it right”, if you’re gonna mention these cars then try and find out whether or not clout is why these cars are underrated. It’s still a cool vid, but cmon dude.
Unfortunately the Z32 300ZX here is Europe is already pretty expensive, Twin Turbo Manual examples start at ~25 000 € so a bit more in USD. And sorry, that's not cheap in my book.
My mom used to own a T-Top 300zx. She sadly crashed it drag racing because the guy lost control and sent her into a pole and totaled her car. Currently saving to buy one and similar to hers and build it with her.
Almost got the galant vr4 and got outbidded (in Japan)😅, 300zx was good but auction listed it to non runner (us auction) but the 300zx is picking up steam along with the accord v6 coupe, used the get the Mazda protege weekly at the auction for 500-1000 bucks 😂 sc300 also slowly picking up steam from the past years. Ended up settling with a better sleeper hated by drift fan boys and clout boys, a Japan ae101 sprinter trueno GT Apex with the silver top with 30k miles for a low price 👍
FC RX-7 is underrated as well. Everyone talks about the FD not realizing the 2nd Gen FC has a better transmission and same motor... and the Pandem kit makes it FIRE
Had a Del Sol for a number of years when they first came out. Bone stock with the smaller engine and the auto transmission. It certainly didn’t win any races, but it was an absolute blast none the less.
Was really hoping you gave an honourable mention to the z20 Soarer, the generation that came before the sc300 that you mentioned. I'm pretty sure it actually shares the same chassis as the mk3 supra - just another connection to the JDM wet dream. Plus the aerocabin is pretty cool and something I think you'd be into. That and the instrument cluster is an absolute time capsule, such an underrated car.
I’m actually about to turn 16 and get my first car. I had like no hope of getting a fun car that I could talk about or use as anything more than a ride to school. This is seriously a cool video and imma try to find one of these or just another cheap jdm/sports car that I can have fun with.
I don't remember anyone ridiculing the lines or anything about the 300ZX at the time. That was really kind of peak Nissan. They had the 240SX, Sentra SE-R, and even the NX2000. I'll go out on a limb and say this take was ill-informed as a function of your age.
The main reason sc300 prices are fairly reasonably priced is because it's so rare to find a factory USDM manual. Every Gen Z car guy has been fed that in order to be cool it has to be manual, but since this car is almost always automatic, it hasn't been majorly taxed yet. The sc300 and z32 were the other cars I was looking at before picking up my rx8 and I still hope to try them out one day. Great list!
It's mainly an American thing, and yeah the younger generation has this issue. I never really noticed it much until 2015 or so, when all things retro were cool. I think it also has to do with being rebellious as the majority of us are not into cars, to the point where new drivers are a dying breed, and many people even among the millenials are looking forward to an EV/self-driving future. The Rx-8 is a great car if maintained right. I can't stand people saying it's trash because it's just not. Top Gear loved it when it came out, and like all unique cars, it's not stood up to the test of time because it's using unique tech in the form of a rotary.
I own a Honda Del from 1995, and I paid $6,500. Only 154,000 on the clock, complete maintenance record, and the biggest issues are that the clearcoat was failing, and by this point the throwout bearing is going and the speedo doesn't work. That's it. Some truck backed into it and damaged the hood, but that's not that big a deal overall. Its not as fun as my Miata was, but I like the Del Sol.
to be fair, bladed might have a whole ass 710k subs but man's still pretty niche i doubt this video is gonna make too much of an impact unless the algae is gonna make me eat my words
Thank god i already own my Honda Prelude. Already see the prices for those go up like crazy. I see them at 5 times more than what i bought mine for 2 years ago :D
Just bought a honda prelude for around 9-10k i usd, its my first car and i absoultely love the look on it. I got the 2.2 vti version and its got plenty power for a first car and i cant wait to give it some mods to personalize it
It was though. They were pretty stable at 5-10k for a really nice one. Then in 2017 they immediately jumped to 15-20k, after all the stupid deja vu memes dropped and hype culture turned it's eyes on Initial D and drifting. Then in 2021 it happened again, and now you're looking at 35k for an 86 that was worth 5k, 10 years ago.
@@darkkinggaming7988 Even for one that is completely rusted out that's pretty damn low, yeah. No idea what the price tag is on replacing structural parts that are severely rusted though

Finally, this guy gets it. It's not about "ruining prices" it's about showing JDM Fans there's more to enjoy!

I still recommend it as a car for new people who want to learn stick. They're quite forgiving with miss shifts and rpms. It also will teach the user how to perform basic maintenance as it's required for the longevity of the rotary engine and those skills translate to any other future vehicles.
I'm just surprised my RX-8 made it 120k without a rebuild.

Don't give up hope
Those things were scooped up by the hood rich crowd years ago. Most of them are clapped out.

4th gen accords are so so clean, and reliable.
(I have one and I’m trying to create aftermarket support for this great car)
honorable mention to the Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V. Great little thing
Other JDM's worthy mentions are C34/C35 Laurel, JZX110 Verossa, Pulsar GTI-R, & Stagea. Good video.
I am saving money for a few years to buy 300zx and now it’ll be so expensive that I will never buy it.
Cool video! Hopefully it doesn't have the opposite effect on some of these.
Also, to add to your clarification in the video, the Accord didn't share an engine with the NSX. It was a completely different family of engines. The NSX used the C30A or C32B V6 with DOHC and VTEC. The V6 in the Accord is a J-series that succeeds the C-series and is still used in most V6 equipped Honda's today.
glad someone else noticed this and not just me. also, the J30 is a square engine (86mmx86mm) and the C30 is an over-square design (90mmx78mm).
the 300zxs are going up in price now

Can't forget the honda prelude, i have a third gen myself. But shhhhhhhh, parts are already hard enough to get.
I did notice sc300 prices going up recently, but not sc400. The 2jz is nice, but the 1uz is nice too and cheaper.
And they sound godly
@younglightin5 yeah, I noticed the American car crowd shames anything less than a v8, meanwhile jdm fans seem to love their I6s. To me, idc how many cylinders a car has, as long as it looks, sounds, and drives good.
@Snarky_Queen I'm a V8 guy thru and thru mostly toyota V8s but turbo inline 6s are undeniable.
Saw one clapped out with TVR paint. Looked good but needed a clean and some affectionate detailing.

@@TheProtogenBoi8902 That's because the R32 is a great platform with a lot of potential for the enthusiast. The Sera is just a slow boring car with cool doors. That's like wondering why people want mustangs in Europe but not the Chevy Cavalier.

25k aint bad compared to other jdm cars like nsx, supra, rx-7. Z32's should be $35k+. I see then going to that soon.
Waste of money, there’s tons of them here and they were already driven into the ground in the 2000s era. Every wheel shop owner had a 300zx 😂😂😂

I was a big DSM guy back in the day. I had a 1992 Galant VR4 . Specifically, nbr 134/1000. I miss that thing so much. Selling it is one of the biggest regrets of my life.
my grandma actually did have a galant with a v6, but it was to old to keep (according to my parents) and it was exchanged for a subaru
I recently bought an 89 Accord coupe for a couple hundred, replaced the alternator, front cam seal, and starter. Runs like a dream. Now to ruin that and build her into something that Honda never intended... Accord coupes are heavily underrated though.
The Galant sounds exactly like what would happen if a lan evo and a r34 had a baby together.
The Subaru Legacy is essentially the Galant equivalent. I looked them up recently, and there are more than plenty for under 5k
300zx, 3rd gen eclipse, sc300/400, and the 1st gen wrx are some of my fav jdm cars that are slept on
6:45 damn, yeah I do feel that and that's why I hate to wait another year but yeah..... And TikTok kids, screw them.
Mk3 Supra, pop up headlights, hatchback, not too boxy with subtle curves. Optional 1JZ from Japan, 2JZ swaps make it ideal badass performer
Oh, and you forgot to mention the SC300 has the 2JZ-GE, not the 2JZ-GTE. you completely ignored that one has a turbo and one doesn’t
96 honda accord. Works great after 300k. No clout stains here.

Just bought a 04 Sentra SE-R V spec with the brembo big brakes 200k miles for $1800 and drove it 80 miles home @ 80 mph. Its my new RallyX car.
To be fair, the 300zx was ruined by crazy engineering unsupportable by the available technology.
Your mom is racer? That's cool.
Glad to see my favorite JDM car makes this list (300ZX).
The Accord V6 Coupe had the J30 engine whereas the NSX had the C30A and C32B engines... not the same engine, guy!!
The 300ZX is heavy, unreliable, and miserable to drive. Its the fattest, slowest Z. But god damn it looks so good.
Mazda 3 hatch are pretty good too
Im glad you mentioned the Accord Coupe...Ive always mentioned that they are very nice and powerful
I don't remember anyone ridiculing the lines or anything about the 300ZX at the time. That was really kind of peak Nissan. They had the 240SX, Sentra SE-R, and even the NX2000. I'll go out on a limb and say this take was ill-informed as a function of your age.
the 300zx is a beautiful car,i whould have a z31 i dont complain,but man that 300zx is just a hidden gem
Its not as fun as my Miata was, but I like the Del Sol.
to be fair, bladed might have a whole ass 710k subs but man's still pretty niche
i doubt this video is gonna make too much of an impact unless the algae is gonna make me eat my words
