    Ant was cooking in the 3rd....and we lost the quarter by 11. that is the impact of Ant. Scores 16, gives up 17 personally. Destroys the flow of the offense for everyone else and is the catalyst for the other team getting easy buckets on the other end.

    • @kepler16b
      @kepler16b 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      He’s also sometimes the only guaranteed bucket out there. We weren’t getting second chances with rob and clingon out since da doesn’t rebound well, we were missing other buckets with Jerami out, and shae wasn’t getting buckets, so it’s nice to have a solid 3 shooter out there. But yeah, he doesn’t play defense

      He just doesn't fit the defensive identity of the team and the game style. In Dallas, for example, he could've fit well. Here, you can't win with him because the defense style can't work because you can't make switches. but this loss was mostly because we didn't have Rob & DC

    Scoot has always looked good on playmaking, and always had a nice pacing and rhythm that undeveloped rook yr. But its looking like its come to fruition this yr. he's getting a little middy going, his stop on 3 shooting is looking good (think he misses mainly on movement 3s cuz the team's offense is still wonky), I'm buying my Scoot flight in to Portland.

    there might be a strategy for a tank wherein DA and DC are never available at the same time this season.
    Time for Williams and Reath to step up
    Toumani and Deni need more boards to compete.
    the tank is still on.
    is this the fourth year? are we trading hurt vets yet?

    I've read a couple of comments about Simons playing poorly and giving up a lot of points on defense in this game specifically. I clearly wasn't watching the same game. I think some of these comments are based off of track record as opposed to that specific game. He almost doubled the next leading scorer and he did not give up a bunch of points. Call it what it is -- a good game overall.

  • @MrJjreid
    @MrJjreid 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

    They went small because Jabari didnt play well at the 5. They also took Ayton out in the 4 to give him a breather because he wasn't playing his regular rotation minutes.

    Blazers down 7 with 13 seconds to go..
    Chauncey calls timeout to make a play..
    Avdija throws it in and..
    Ayton goes for 2? 🤦‍♂️

      Better than Ant hucking terrible 3. Deni ignored him and it's warranted.

    • @rileymcphee9429
      @rileymcphee9429 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @coreybreiland7586 so... if we really cared about winning last night, we would've gone for a 3, tried to steal, shot another 3, and hoped for a foul call. That's the only way we get to a tie game with 13 second left.
      Letting DA shoot a midrange 2 is accepting defeat. If you didn't know, Simons shot 50% from 3, and Scoot was 3/4 from 3. Both were on the court for the last play, but Ayton thought he was the guy to shoot.
      Make it make sense.

      @rileymcphee9429 if i wanted the win. Then yeah, you would be right. But we're supposed to be tanking for top pick because, we need it lol. I dont want Ant, period. I want his booty on the bench packing the bags to go. His poor BBIQ, atrocious defense, hero iso ball and turn over prone during crunch time, need to go. The team tries much harder with him off the floor and that's all I want. Hard fought losses and let the youngins get time because they're our future, not simons.

    Ant gets hot only when we’re up by 15-20 points. He’s rarely hot when we’re down or tied, or crunch time or when there’s a physical defender on him.

    Let me give you Mikes pass first point guard summation of this game. Despite simons outlier of a good shooting 3rd quarter the Pacers went up 14 because he was putrid on defense as per usual and the offense was iso look at me chucking. The "reserves" pull it back within 4 after which Chauncey does what he does best.....make nonsensical substitutions. Here is my favorite part....simons was bad beyond belief and yet continued ignoring teammates and solidified the L with boneheaded play after play. We are not talking about Bostons or OKC or MIN stout, long, hard nosed defenders here. We are not talking playoffs here. This guy was shut down by the likes of Mconnel and Myles Turner in a meaningless November game lmfao. 25 million dollars per year for an eternity. This sht is never ending and the fanbase is absolutely suffering. They are catering to a bench player at best while absolutely mucking up the clear talent of the future and it's maddening.

      I like this comment! Simons continues to screw over our "TEAM" for his iso chucking and hero ball. Cannot yell loud enough to get rid of this guy. I understand, no one else wants him either.

      I thought Ant was trying hard on defense this game. He wasn’t very effective, but the effort was there. Personally would like to see him as a 6th man on the future blazers team. Out of everybody, Sharpe had the worst defense this game. DA was also a super ineffective helper

    • @stevepeterson4154
      @stevepeterson4154 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@nika9493 Halleluja he is finally trying after 7 years. Thats step 1. Step 2 he will never accomplish since you answered your own question and so has Mike on this podcast numerous times. Trying=/=effective. People back him down like he is a can of pudding. People shoot over him like a toddler. Even though he is quick he has no girth so people that get half a step on him with a dribble can compound that into a full step when they lean into the dribble. His bbiq is nonexistent, he rarely contest anything at the rim as a last defender when a simple hack would do to give 2fts instead of a layup. Defense wins championships. Defense translates into either fast break or half court. Defense carries into ball energy and team involvement. When you have a handicap that you're trying to hide on every posession it's a wrap. Didn't we just watch this with Dame to a lesser degree for a decade?? Only difference is Dame is Dame, and simons aint Dame.
