AkuPlays - Suomalaista pelailua Look on TH-cam for "M Shadows Beast and the Harlot falsetto, and you'll be able to hear it more clearly, that's how I realized that it was Matt :D
Avenged sevenfold used syn's voice in live performances before self-titled album was even made. I don't know where people are getting that he didn't sing in city of evil from.
+Chance Battenberg None of them sang on the albums til self-titled. Syn only sang one back-up line in Seize the Day ("a melody, a memory, or just one picture") and the rest of them did some group chants. That's all they did. Shadows sang everything else.
+Chance Battenberg No shit. They were backup vocalists since the band started. The music they wrote had multiple vocal parts so there is multiple live singers. No one ever doubted that.
***** Yeah I just read my first comment and I realized that could easily be misinterpreted to be me talking about the actual album itself, I meant during the touring cycle of city of evil.
+Ben Daigrepont Nope. His screams are almost exactly the same. The difference is this screaming isn't double or triple tracked like screams on WTF and STST is.
I've watched the interveiws man ! Syn sings the harmony on eternal rest , when they say " Eternal rest , in time. Eternal Rest , In time." I SWEAR TO JESUS !
@ayhan132 It definitely is still Matt singing the higher parts in the chorus. You can really hear it when he says "GREAT" at the end of the chorus, he makes the note fall down and it's obviously his voice. Also, he usually does "scream a little" when he sings; however, that didn't even start happening until this album. His clean vocals on "Waking The Fallen" and even on songs like "Warmness on the Soul" from Sounding The Seventh Trumpet were not gravelly at all.
all the vocals are either shadows or rev. Syn and Zacky only do vocals live for the parts that go under shadows lead vocals in studio its Jimmy or Matt
I love it that you can tell Matt is really stretching his vocal range in the last chorus. Especially when compared with the opening vocals in "Victim".
@kevin666forever Just looked in the City of Evil booklet. Nowhere does it mention "additional vocals" for Beast and the Harlot. It mentions Seize the Day and Strength of the World. Only Shadows sings on this song.
I am pretty sure the super high falsetto on the last chorus is Jimmy. Listen to the backing vocals to Almost easy. They sound identical. Jimmy does a really high falsetto in Almost easy as well.
@penguinboy935 Everyone did vocals on the self titled album as portrayed in Almost Easy, you can watch the making of it on TH-cam if you don't believe me. But I'm pretty sure this is mostly The Rev and M. Shadows sir.
@kevin666forever No, Shadows sings just about everything on City of Evil. The difference between the vocal tracks is just that the non-melody parts are autotuned more heavily and pitched up or down an octave in some cases.
I think what Kevin meant to clarify was that that's how things go when they play this song live. I'm pretty sure anyone with a brain could tell that in the vocal track from the recording it's only shads singing.
@@guitarguy9030 thanks bro ive been thinking about this every day for the last 8 years when i made this comment.... 8 years ago. So much weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
I seriously wanna know where the fuck people get these vocal tracks. It's probably only from songs ever included on Guitar Hero or Rock Band because their record label releases each track for every song they put on those games to the game companies and people end up uploading the vocal only track.
Yeah...LIVE not on the albums....listen to them talk during the making of the self titled and zacky explains how " this time we decided to have everyone sing on the album." he also says something along the lines of "In order for it to sound perfect we'd have to mimic shadows voice." In the past, shadows did all vocals on the CD's live they syn and zacky always did backup vocals...but not until Self titled did they actually add their vocals to albums..
And he went even higher! /watch?v=qQhxNty4w5k (look for 5:29, that's a powerful G#5, but his range tops at A5 whis is in the final harmony of this song)
holy fucking shit! i didn't know it was vocals only, so i was sitting here alone at 00:45 and then i hear this fucking zombie-like voice... scared the shit out of me!
Yeah but how would you extract a Guitar Hero track from the game itself and then fuck with the audio tracks that the game has? Every single vocal track on TH-cam is a song featured on Rock Band (downloadable or on the game disc) and even the uploaders themselves admitted to ripping it from Rock Band. So I wanna know specifically how they do this and get the audio from that game to their computer.
Its not an opinion...its fact....watch the making of their self titled...they talk about how they've always did their own back up vocals, but this time they wanted to have their own vocals on the record...

0:56 u do it again
:DD
at 5:02 you can hear a very high pitcher voice in the background, that's Shadows...I know, he is an incredible singer
AkuPlays - Suomalaista pelailua no, it is shadows, if it is the rev then can you send me the source of where you took that?
AkuPlays - Suomalaista pelailua Look on TH-cam for "M Shadows Beast and the Harlot falsetto, and you'll be able to hear it more clearly, that's how I realized that it was Matt :D
and that's why I said he is an amazing singer, because being a baritone and still being able to go that high is surprising
AkuPlays - Suomalaista pelailua it's fine bud hehehe everyone makes mistakes
The Motherfucker no that's The Rev Matt cannot go that high it's impossible for him to do that where as The Rev could
They do very good vocal arrangements, something that not many bands care to do.
I hummed out the solo and got it timed perfectly!!!
0:04 when you start cooking bacon
Live yes......album version its all shadows harmonizing with himself.....
Umm what?

The final chorus where they sing it high pitched, I went "christmas caroling" with some buds and we were singing this in front of people's houses.
The beginning was the zombie part. Wholy hell that scared the hell out of me..
loving the chorus!!!
love the harmonies
In the beginning, I thought it was a shitty vocal cover of some dude tryna do the scream. xD
SAME!!! OMG I tabbed out and had no idea what I listening to
Ahahahaha
Same omfg lol
OfficialGRIZZA he fucked his voice up in 03

This voic angel
I never realized how many instrumental parts are in their songs
I never heard that growling at the end O.o Wicked cool :D
I guess you're right. Matt and the Rev sound similar in that upper register of their voices then. Never the less, it sounds great.
@ayhan132

im laughing so hard at the screams
I love his rough and awesome voice its so different from others
I am pretty sure the super high falsetto on the last chorus is Jimmy. Listen to the backing vocals to Almost easy. They sound identical. Jimmy does a really high falsetto in Almost easy as well.
damn! i didnt know beast and the harlot had layers of voices on the verse!
Beginning sounds like the Road Warriors are about to come out for a match.
its shadows for both voices he recorded a higher pitch and lower pitch voice he does that for alot of there songs
@a7xSynJr on the cds its mostly shadows singing just layered. live its syn and zacky doing the other vocals
the falsetto part was matt, all vocals were matt
at 46 seconds is a PERFECT wake up alarm
Matt canta hermoso
Thanks.
Mind you, the high whiny part after the drum solo may be syn cause the sounds like that live....everyone else is Shadows
@DrumLegend01 no its syn dude read the booklet that came with city of evil, it sais, additional vocals on beast and the harlot, synyster gates
@bruno13532 Thats not the rev, thats shadows doubling his vocals.
@penguinboy935 Everyone did vocals on the self titled album as portrayed in Almost Easy, you can watch the making of it on TH-cam if you don't believe me. But I'm pretty sure this is mostly The Rev and M. Shadows sir.
is it me or we can hear syn' voice in the back ??.
...so it not realy '' M.Sadow only''
love it 8D
That scream Is in the intro of the full version
That's still Matt, they didn't really utilize the other band mates vocals until the Self Title or so stated in their MVI
5:02 on is the Rev. I promise you, it's not Shadows with an altered pitch.
Oh my. That's shadows singing. Stop
at the beginning it sounds like cobra commander of robot chicken
@ayhan132 starting at 5:00 you can hear some REALLY REALLY high vocals in the background...i think it's the Rev lol
i thought he was actually screaming in the beginning but he’s just whispering
😍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️
OMG!!!

syn is talking about live performance dude
I just had an eargasm :D
Wrong....Shadows does all the vocals on seperate tracks.....The rest of them didn't start singing until the self titled album.
@Catch2253 Its Syn dude, this is basically a duet between them.....Go watch them live and learn Syns voice sound.
Shadows must have HUGE loogie at the beginning
@AVPMfreakify101 THIS is an eargasm
is that syn doing the reeaaaallly hight pitched voice when they say "the day has come for all us sinners if your not a servant....." ?
No its still matt

Not ,it is matt , he sounds like Jimmy here and also in others songs , they sang similar with nasal voice , because it was their style.
