  • Working with hard tubing is one of the most challenging and rewarding parts of custom PC building. But honestly, it's a lot easier than you might imagine once you get the hang of it, and the results are AWESOME!
    In today's video, we complete the build of our "Ultimate Gaming PC" by installing the PETG Hard Tubing, and perform a dry leak test to make sure everything is OK before we fill with coolant.
    This video includes clear instructions to make doing your own hard tubing job much easier.
    While not necessary, I use and recommend the Thermaltake Pacific Hard Tube Bending Kit to make working with hard lines much easier and greatly reduce the risk of leaks due to bad connections.

    I'm planning my first build, and honestly the detail in your guide (soapy water in fittings, dont bend too close to plugging end, 1200 grit sandpaper for smooth finish) are just some of the numerous tips I've learned, this video is amazing. Thanks so much for your help!

    Primochill sells bits that attach to a drill to burr out the inside of tubing... highly recommended. Big time saver... can even be used to shave down a bit of length quickly.

      Soft tubing is a lot easier but you still have to do maintenance. AIO does just fine for the majority of people.

    I also noticed you are using PETG tubing. Fun fact, and something I never heard even after watching 100 how-to water cool your PC videos.... PETG tubing is water soluble. Well a better description would be "water vapor soluble". The first time I put my insane GPU loop together I used PETG. It came out looking beautiful and PETG is so easy to work with. However, I soon discovered I had to add as much as 4 oz. of water a day. WTF right? Where is all my water disappearing to? I had zero leaks. I was baffled until I did some deep web surfing. I looked into how PETG was made and that's where I discovered that evaporated water can pass right through the walls of PETG tubing. Now my water loss is extreme because my loop uses over 40 oz of water, but make no mistake all PC PETG water loops will lose water right out the sides of the tubing. Yes, I know it sounds like I'm nuts, but if you check it out and make note of how often and how much water your adding to your system, you'll discover I'm right. I haven't lost a drop after going to hard brass.

    No issue with soapy water in the fittings and on the tube when inserting causing it to be more leak prone or pop out?

      @@boostedmedia thanks for everything. With your help and tutorial I was able to complete my build and I'm extremely satisfied with the result. I couldn't have done it without your guidance and times did seem extremely difficult at times but I would keep referring back to your video to try to come up with solutions to my problem. On top of that I had to use my 480mm rad from a previous board on top of the case because I didnt want to waste it or sell it. Did the best I could with it over hanging off the back edge of the case. I would send you a link to see my finished work but I'm not sure if your ok with it here. Thank you very much for inspiring others like myself to keep building. Keep up the good work

    Hi boosted, I’m about to do my first ever hand line tubing and I was wondering when when putting soapy water around the end of the tubes and the fittings if that affects when putting my pre mix coolant? Does have a very small amount of soap water causes anything to the coolant at all? Asking just to be sure lol

    What is the budget of this build?

  • @TheRealMrGuvernment
    @TheRealMrGuvernment 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    way back when in the WC world, 90 degree angles = worst thing you could do, restricts water flow by up to 50%. Is this not the case any more with the hard tubing or something?

    • @boostedmedia
      @boostedmedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With hardlines when done properly they are mandrel bent so the internal diameter remains the same and thus has no impact on flow.

    Are the compression fittings suppose to screw all the way down? I have the Bitspower advanced ones and they only screw about half way down. It's pretty tight but idk, seems weird. In this video I see they go all they way down when tightening. Any advice please?

    • @riffsthatkill2180
      @riffsthatkill2180 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think there are different lengths and depths to fitting threads and fitting inserts on radiators and such. Are the Bits Advanced known for having longer threads? Sounds like that might be it

    How do you keep the rings from scratching the petg? I have a really hard time keeping the tubes from getting scratched when i install the rings over the tubes for the final fitting

    • @boostedmedia
      @boostedmedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does happen from time to time. You can wrap some masking tape around the tube u til it’s clamped down to protect it if it worries you.

    This thing is Sim Racing PC Porn. About the water pump being the lowest part of the loop. In my case the pump is the highest part of my loop. Done this way makes my PC a breaze to fill. I just open a port at the top of the 700ml Res that's mounted on the back of my case. I also remove a plug on top of my 200ml Pump/Res Combo to release trapped air while I fill. I can then start pouring water in the top of my 700ml Res and fill almost the hole loop without starting the pump. My System uses over 40 oz. of water and most of it goes in on the first pour. This also cuts down on the air mixed into the water.
