OMG! This jig makes me moist. The adaptability of how one wants to do splines makes a lot of options not seen on various spline jigs for table saws or routers
I just built one today, and it works amazing. I had to build it for an old Delta table saw, and notch out the housing over the guide bar because of screws on the back side of the guide, but that helped it to keep it more aligned. I left my frame guides a little longer beyond the jig for 2 reasons: 1) to support a larger frame, and 2) I can use the back one for a handle to push the jig through. Thanks again, this is great. Love your tutorials!
Drunken Woodworker - I really like your project videos. They are very clear and well paced. Your attention to detail makes them appear very professional.
Great version of a very versatile jig! I really like how cutting the spines doesn't require cutting into the jig. I just might have to make another spline miter jig.
I was going to use a biscuit joiner but this idea gives a larger gluing area and I like the way the jig does a better job of alignment. Thanks for the inspiration.
I like to know I am not the only one that turns the saw off between cuts for the same reason you mention. I am heading to the shop to make one. It will be perfect to run splines on the corners of the boxes I like to make.
Hy after seeing your spline jig I was hoping you may be able to do a video on building a box/comb jig please. your video was really clear to understand
Nice Simple highly functional jig, great work! I have a tenoning jig that i threw together almost exactly like this, now I think i'm gonna make a removable front plate with the 45s for splines and up my miter game a bit.
Hey David, I'm a fan of your new stuff but found this vid when looking for info on a spline jig. Just want to congratulate you on how far you're come, the info you share is still as good, but your production, confidence and lack of swaying has come such a long way :) Look forward to seeing where you are in another 2.5 years!
I really like this jig. I plan on making one when the weather breaks. I was also thinking of putting in a slot in the center to install an adjustable cam clamp. That way the piece can be clamped closer to the table. Love your videos. Keep it up.
Great jig, also the miter sled from last week was awesome! Now I kinda feel like giving a shot to those mirror frames my wife's been nagging me all winter about.
This is awesome. I think I'm going to make this jig, but put a tenoning jig on the other side. That way, I can use one jig for both tenons and splines, and I just have to flip the jig around to swap between them.
Last week I made a spline jib. I wish I had remembered this one and made one like this. The one I made was fine and worked. But this makes setting the blade height easier.
great video - just what i needed thanks. Also i found this funny... 3:23: "I like to shut the saw off between every cut, as I don't like handing material over a spinning blade" 4:11: Doesn't shut saw off and handles material over a spinning blade
Good stuff dave! I made one a while back .not like this one.gonna tackle this one tomorrow and get rid of my old one. Is there a certain height the to 45dgr pieces need to be or does it not matter how high or low they are? ? Thanks man! WHERE U BEEN??:)
Almost done making this, and under 30 minutes! Perfect for the special gift frame drying now! Thank you for sharing your time and talent.
OMG! This jig makes me moist. The adaptability of how one wants to do splines makes a lot of options not seen on various spline jigs for table saws or routers
Man, that's so simple, but really awesome! Way easier than some other ones I've seen. Great job dude!
I Like To Make Stuff Thanks Bob!!
I Like To Make Stuff as well
Best video I have seen for making picture frame spline jig.
David quick and simple that's the way it should be nice job bro.
Thanks for a simple to make jig. I like that you can see where the blade will hit the frame, easier to center the cut with this setup. Thanks again

Right on! It’ll come in handy!
I followed the instructions, made a minor modification due to materials on hand and cut 8 splines in a box, 2 in each corner. Worked great. Thanks!
Now that is a great jig. I use mine quite often. Great way to simplify it. Mine was a little bit different but I like yours very much.
Simple and easy jig. Great video too!
Jay Bates Thanks Jay! I'm sending you a truckload of good plywood. Keep your eye out.
Drunken Woodworker - I really like your project videos. They are very clear and well paced. Your attention to detail makes them appear very professional.
Stumpy Nubs Appear professional? David IS a pro.
Matt de Oliveira Seriously, dude? You are going to argue whit the way I phrased a compliment?
Stumpy Nubs No. It was sarcasm. You are too, Stumpy.
Super simple! This is my project tomorrow.
Amazing. This helped me finish a jewelry box I was working on, finished in about an hour.
Thanks, David. That is the simplest spline jig I've seen. Mine is about 5x bigger and very clunky. Now I gotta build this one.
Cool jig, I liked the fact that you clamped the MDF pieces against that triangle! THanks for sharing!
Drunken Woodworker Looks good! Everyone is so obsessed with dovetails for boxes but splined miters look great and are strong.
All your videos teach something useful. I love the pace you use and not a lot of useless dialogue. Keep it up!
Thanks John!
Now that's a simple useful jig. Thanks Dave.
Moonpie Creations Thanks!
Wow, that is super simple, but high quality just like the video. Definitely going to be building this. Thanks for the idea!
I just found your channel and your in my new favourites! Thank you for all the tips and a great inclusive positive attitude!
Made and already used. Works a treat many thanks. Subscribed.
I appreciate you! Whipped up mine super fast just now after watching
My favorite Spline Jig yet. This is the one I'm going to build. Thanks!
So happy you decide to make this series on picture frames! Thank You
I like the adaptability of your jig, nice job
I liked your tip about using a drafting square and a speed square. Nice job! Mahalo!
Great version of a very versatile jig! I really like how cutting the spines doesn't require cutting into the jig. I just might have to make another spline miter jig.
Thanks!
Drunken Woodworker No Thank you!
Cool jig. Simple and effectiv
Simple and very usable - nice video!
Very simple and very clever! Thank you for sharing. Best wishes, Evangelos
Glad you referenced this video today. I need to build this. Thanks.
Good idea! I will definitely be making one of these.
just finished making this job. it was super fast and works perfect. thanks for the video, man!
jig, not job. my phone thinks jig is not a real word.
Awesome! Thanks!
I was going to use a biscuit joiner but this idea gives a larger gluing area and I like the way the jig does a better job of alignment. Thanks for the inspiration.
Great way to align the supports using a speed square and drafting triangle. Nice job.
David, I truly like your new format and presentation. I'm quite enjoying the Picture Frame series and look forward to future videos......
I like to know I am not the only one that turns the saw off between cuts for the same reason you mention. I am heading to the shop to make one. It will be perfect to run splines on the corners of the boxes I like to make.
Nice easy to make jig Drunken Woodworker .
well I now have my project and podcast for my Friday night build thanks man!
Jacob Ambuehl right on! Thanks!
Very clever!
I'll be building one of these for my box making. I like this design much more than the miter slot type. More compact and easier to store.
Thank you!
Wow that is awesome. I am going to try it.
Really sweet jig
Great jig, tossed my old spline jig out, this one is so quick & easy to set up!
Dave Pachuto, you are great!
Mate, it's AWESOME!
Great jig!
Great Job 📐
Nice jig. I have one that adjusts to any fence and goes 90 or 45 degrees. Cut tenons or splines. I don't use it much but does come in handy.
Backyard Woodworking Thanks! Sounds like a sweet jig!
Very good! I like it! Thanks.
Hy after seeing your spline jig I was hoping you may be able to do a video on building a box/comb jig please. your video was really clear to understand
Very cool jig. I like!

So simple yet so effective. Great Job David!
This jig works great and very simple. Glad I didn't have to cut and fit runners like a normal sled.
Great simple way to make a spline jig, I will definitely be making one of these!! Thanks for your time in making the video for us.
Thanks for sharing David, looks like I will be making both of these very soon.
Really good jig to have
Great idea I was thinking about the box cut and boom their it is thanks
Gonna make one this weekend! Thanks, David!
Randy Allaway Thanks Randy!
Very nice jig.
***** Thank you!
Good stuff, I like the fence jigs more then miter slot ones. They just seem to work better on my saw.
woodturningjohn thanks!!
Very nice!
This is a great idea having the jig ride the fence, i may have to make one of these.
Thanks!
Hey Dave, great simple project, but very usefull.I will be making one.
Thanks for sharing.
Regards Shayne......
You are the man
Thank you!
Great jig, also the miter sled from last week was awesome! Now I kinda feel like giving a shot to those mirror frames my wife's been nagging me all winter about.
The Small Workshop Thanks! I've got another 2 or 3 coming in the series. Next one is "Basic Picture Frame Making."
Looking forward to it! :)

Brilliant!
Love your tutorials, thanks
Nice quick jig project. Sometimes I would use a mill file to square off the groove.
diycentral Thanks!
Awesome as smart spline jig. I'll definitely build myself one of this! Thanks for sharing David.
Thanks!
Great video. Thanks.
Last week I made a spline jib. I wish I had remembered this one and made one like this. The one I made was fine and worked. But this makes setting the blade height easier.
Nice work dude!!
Even a newbie like myself could make that. Nice jig...and I really like the new format on your videos Awesome job Bob!
Who's Bob??
Next build, thanks!
Great video. Thanks really like the series on picture framing
John Holinka Thanks! I've got another 2 or 3 coming in the series. Next one is "Basic Picture Frame Making."
