- Lars Frederiksen’s fronted some of the most popular punk bands of the last couple of decades - Rancid, most famously, as well as other acts like the Old Firm Casuals. But as a diehard fan of soccer, and specifically the San Jose Earthquakes, he also wrote the Quakes’ official new anthem, “Never Say Die.” Here’s how his love affair with the team started, and how the song came to be.

I love the fan culture surrounding this, but lets be honest, saying San Jose is a working class town is at least LIIIIITTTTTLLLLEEEE bit of a stretch. They're literally down the street from the Silicon Valley
