Grilled pork belly (Samgyeopsal-gui) is an extremely popular Korean BBQ dish. Because the cooking and eating is done at the table, it's really social and a great party food. It's also pretty simple to make, and everyone pretty much serves themselves so it's easy to present, too.

Hey Maangchi! Do you prepare all these delicious Korean side dishes for every meal or do you keep them in the fridge? Maybe you could do a video on how (containers, fridge, freezer) and for how long you store them? I would be really interested in that :)
stellamonde from what I know is most korean families make the vegetable side dishes and store them in the fridge in a container for maybe a week max, and things like the anchovies, dried squid, or samjang sauce can be stored for quite some time in the fridge

I ate this meal in Korea a million times, like four times a week. Theres a Korean BBQ place on every corner in Korea and it's SOOOOOOOOOOO good!. Also they used coals for cooking and had several additional leaves and sauces for dipping but this recipe looks amazing and damn near perfectly authentic.

We had this almost daily when I was in Korea. I think my favorite part was that everywhere you went they had new different sides and sauces. My favorite combo was lettuce, meat, kimchi, garlic, and ssangnam. Oh man grilled kimchi....AMAZING.

My cousin made this for my birthday we had so much fun we even bought the same grilling bbq plates it really took out the oil and help the pork belly nice and crispy!! The sesame leaves were amazing!!

So I just wanted to say 1) I'm really glad you did another collaboration, it's nice seeing new faces in the kitchen :) and 2) ohhhhh my goodness I haven't had samgyeopsal-gui or any meat based korean dish (my favorite is galbijjim) in so long! It reminds me of home in a way (we're a Taiwanese family that loves to eat a plethora of Asian foods, and Korean/Japanese food tends to be our food of choice) and 3) Food is indeed better with company :) On new years or special occasions our family dishes out portable stove for hot pots and the like; it's one of the main things I miss from home: cooking and eating with company. Thanks for video!
