I had a 1974 Capri here in the US that I bought at 16 years old as my first car in 1980. It was in absolutely mint condition and completely original. It was driven by a doctor as his back and forth to work vehicle only and it was in a garage at home as well as at work. With only 45,000 on the clock I basically stole the thing for $1500. He saw something newer he liked and I was the first person to pull in his driveway after he put a sign on it for sale. I was with my father as we drove by and saw him putting the sign in the front window. It was a rust orange brown color and I said to dad, “That’s the one right there!!”. I was in love with the thing as soon as I saw it. Knew exactly what it was, lol. When my father told the guy I only had $1500 as my spending limit for a car, the guy looked at me and asked if I was sure this was the car I wanted as my first car. “Absolutely. It’s perfect. But your sign says $2300.” “Well young man, if it’s perfect, I guess I’m going to have to sell it for $1500.” 😳😳😳 Well needless to say we snapped it up and I absolutely drove the wheels off that car. Absolutely my favorite car I’ve ever owned and still want to find another one in mint condition, lol. 😎😎😎
