Gil just described social anxiety down to a tee
Nah, he described being humbled, not social anxiety.
It's literally social anxiety. I had that after getting robbed. You start thinking everyone was in on it. It's a mind trip.
On God!!!!
@@leroyduncan9368you gotta be stupid

Say what you want about Gilhe is a great storyteller, when he tells stories i feel like im watching a movie.
Absolutely! I commented on one of his videos that he should consider acting. He has an entertaining skill period.
Maybe because of the b shots playing while he's speaking
He is a bust. Just admit it. He never really played. Always found a way out. He's a sociopath
@@roddyboethius1722
Who? Not agent 0
@@roddyboethius1722yea he talks a lot but his scoring was crazy . Maybe got the most buzzer beaters of all time
Gil is so transparent. He would be a great mentor for younger players.
Ya Ja Morant needs his number
He's a sociopath. A liar
No he won’t
Mmm nah pass. Gil knows how things work for sure and he was a solid scorer but he was also a terrible leader and even worse locker room influence
them dummies not listening to nobody. Look at the dummy Morant.
Man, had no idea he went through all that after the incident. I can’t imagine looking into a sea of people with my head racing wondering what they’re saying. I barely can handle it with smaller groups.
Imagine caring
Yeah thats crazy but on 2k11 Orlando with him and Dwight was a fuckin cheat code
@@TH-camTroll123easier said than done buddy.
@@760Anthony1 that’s why we’re suppose to meditate
@ItsaBJThing easier said than done. Especially when something happens to break the confidence you had.
LOL at you guys for showing Seth Rogen from Pineapple Express during the ‘I got served’ part 😂😂
Right they should've showed Omarion, Marcus Houston, and steve harvey.
Toooooooo damn real. Thanks for sharing Gil.
That REALLY changed the perception of how I thought n felt about him. To admit he allowed society to dictate how he thought, how he felt, n how he acted was a sign he knew he needed help n sought it out. Dealing with it taught him how to compartmentalize n move forward bcoz that cockiness is still there
I hope Ja don’t go thru this
@@Smackz1991jhj damn! Good comment
I was also cocky as could be in my youth because I thought I was something, until injuries hit and I could never be the same again. The experience humbled me and helped me learn what it was like to be on the other side. Without injuries, I would have been and stayed a rude, condescending individual. Be humble and empathetic when God gives you something great because it can easily be taken away.
N that’s facts 💯💯💯💯 felt the same way
Same man I played tennis and was so cocky I think I pushed people away. Got a bad knee injury and every step to get back on the court humbled me more amd more. I gave up the pro dream but have grown so much I want to teach the next generation. Injuries suck but keeping a good mentality it can create an even better opportunity
That's deep
Damn. Gilbert felt that in his soul. Now we know that he is so much more than the media portrayal. Respect him for holding on and making it through. It takes a lot of strength to look inside and understand yourself.
Damn Gil with Kobe. 🤦🏿♂️.
He wasn't the same
It would have been more of a nice picture to have than them actually producing around that time. Gil was a shell of himself.. plus that’s the same year they vetoed the Chris Paul trade
Naaa Kobe would have pulled the best out of Gill and got him back on track, I say that because look at what Kobe went through with Colorado and he came back and cooked like a Master Chef at the Queen Of Englands Royal Palace.
Probably would have gotten a ring
@@Sldumas1983 real rap. Kobe probably the only one who would be able to pull Gil out of that mental hole. One of the big 'What-Ifs'
his son will be even greater bc he has his dad in his corner
I appreciate your honesty and keeping it real 100.❤
It’s amazing how powerful the mind is.
If Gil played for 15 years he would have been one of the most prolific scorers ever
@GilsArena thank you for sharing this brutha! That took a lot of courage.
God humbles every man, Love Gil 🙏💙
Transparency…respect it Gil 🙏🏾
This is the first time he touched on this in detail because the incident is always asked about but i felt like there was always more to how everything played out. The incident always allowed him to dance around it but he finally came clean about it
It's not the first time.
@@369pendulum when did he mention it before
@bartsimpson7307 He's spoken about it a few times on the No Chill Gil podcast, but he's never gone this deep into detail. Like the throwing up everyday in Orlando, I've never heard him say that before.
Yeah I agree. I've never heard this level of detail about the aftermath of this situation. He'd just casually joke about it. And talk about how he finessed the league with the contract he signed. I remembered someone in the comments saw through all the jokes. Turns out whoever noticed it first was right on the money. The gun issues and the injuries broke his spirit. And for the longest he used humour to manage it.
@@peteraudu4554 facts. him describing the aftermath of "LeTroll" 😈🤣 making him miss those critical free throw shots in the Wiz-Cavs series and how that mentally fucked him up was the first indicator he isn't as cocky and carefree as he makes himself out to be. He's human... just like the rest of us.
damn that’s crazy . one of my fav players im glad you’re good now
Mental health wellness is definitely important even for someone invincible like Uncle Gil. His vulnerability in sharing this helps a lot of people. Respect to a real goat
Damn, true humiliation, traumatized, and anxiety all wrapped into one big package. Helluva way to go out for Gil. I know Gil aint the only player to bring a gun in the locker room at the stadium. We loved watching your game and you made great strides to be a better person for you congratulations.
Gil know humility is a great teacher. Glad for him!
MAD RESPECT FOR GIL TALKING ABOUT THIS🫡🫡🫡#DCLEGEND
Limo tint house windows is crazy lmao
And cap! Every neighbor in his gated community knew where he lived and who he was if they cared to know or ask! This 🤡 so fu it’s ridiculous 😂😂😂
Shout out Gil for being transparent about his experiences...we all go through shit
Kudos to Gil for being so honest. Live your truth.
Gil was on of my favorite warriors back in the day give OG his flowers now I know I definitely appreciate his takes ✊🏾
Agent 0 was nice. That Wizards team with Butler, Jameson, Arenas, Mcgee, and Nick Young.
That team had ZERO D, but MAN could they put up pts in a hurry. Esp. Gilberto of the Arena(s). Wanted him with Kobe in LA SO bad
That’s crazy, just goes to show you it’s not just about athleticism and skills, mentality plays a huuuge role in how they perform.
I fw bro . I love him for media… he’s needed in dis new era . Young players can’t do worse than he did, from his confidence to the dog in him … and his mistakes, he can be a good ear to have in ur corner
Thanks for sharing that Gil! More of us are going thru similar things out here just in a smaller scale.
Hoping you found peace fam
Love how he being honest
Brodie the whole next chapter full of good basketball players all facts.
Having a strong Mentality is important dealing with millions of people and cameras
Yo that’s tough I’m so glad he got through that Gil is a tough man
Yo...him and Kobe at that time. With Paul, Bynum & Odom is nuts!
Damn bro. Glad you got thru it.
Ja had to be careful..
Transparency at its finest right there. One of my favorite hoopers. That move to LA would’ve been crazy.
Confidence is a BIG FACTOR
Hate to hear that Gil, you were an elite scorer. I am glad you turned it around and are doing great.
I'm born and raised and still live in DC. EVERY hood in the city ❤ Gil.
Hope he's better and in a safer space mentally.
Man this is the best sports show period
Definitely top 3 sports show out right now
Love his honesty
Gil, this is huge of you to explain. People think that everyone is going to react to every situation the same.......sheeeeeeit. Half of human personalities live life exactly how you described :O)
It's so crazy that he said "am I the same person kobe thinks he's getting"? ..To say that to yourself and actually answer honestly as a ball player is truly unselfish. The Depths of that question is insane..S.o To Gil for this story 💯
He knew Kobe wasn't gonna play that partying and fooling around on and off the court. Kobe was really horsing teammates in practice.
Thanks for sharing!!!! That’s very Big of You!!!!!💯
Straight honesty. Look how far he’s overcome demons.
He's still unhinged. Acts crazy. He will end up in prison. He's too hyper
Accountability. Respect.
Gil was great in DC, we always felt we had a chance to will with him her even with the rest of the lineup here.
Sad the way things played out with his career.
Salute to the man admitting What's was going on inside of him 🫡
Respect for owning up to it
Gilbert was a BEAST
Love your honesty brother
He had a real short peak. Good player
This is a great side of him, 100% honest always, same as Jeff Teague
This what being humbled looks like.
Nah this is social anxiety without a doubt
His humbling brought on the anxiety. Him second-guessing himself is based on both HIS actions(as a team distraction) and his NEW reality as an injured player.
Buddy weird keep commenting this
@@SolaceMcflysuper weird i thought it was a glitch i knew i read this twice already smh its like he's gil personal hater
u a goofy
Appreciate Your Honesty Young Man 🫡🤴🏿
Loved that dude in DC. Wiz Kids!!!
Gil was my hero back then. I envy people wearing his shoes where in that time I cant afford buy my own shoes. Im saddened what happened to him later in his career but Im still proud that I idolized him. they dont know how bad mad mf he was in his time. #hibachi #AgentZero
Appreciate you sharing that shit Gil
It really wasnt the gun situation that brought Gil down. It was the injuries. He was never the same when he returned.
This is why the greats say it’s 99% mental.
He described depression to me when u don’t want to watch the very thing u put your whole heart into has to be depression
Agent 0 is my favorite player the wizards my favorite team, his pride destroyed his career unfortunately. But, still one of the best scoring pgs ever.
I know that feeling all too well.
Honesty and growth
Bipolar
getting served by a court official on LIVE TV is insane
If you watched the episode of Gil's Arena, his confidence after the gun incident was broken, injuries no, shorts are for adhd spaz
To get served in a middle of a game is crazy!!
Gil so loveable you forget he mentions not one word about INJURIES
There it is!!!
Tha why he’s doing what he’s doing!!!
thats crazy. arenas was amazing.
looks like he can still kind of play now.
Thanks for the REAL GIL
hes def in my top 5
I personally was yelling "YOU AIN'T SHIT GUNNER!!!!"
I like Gil Talking about this stuff👍
I could only see the court and only hear my coach yelling.
I totally feel him and I was barely mid major D-1
everything you do has consequences that gun thing was a dumb move no wonder the consequences of that thing on his mental(+injuries) forced him to retire
Bringing a gun to the locker room was beyond arrogant, he lost alot money from that.
@@nukeboy4939thats not being arrogant
No he didn't. He just had a fresh contract and didn't get more because his play and injuries.@@nukeboy4939
@SolaceMcfly yes it is he thought he was above everyone else that's definitely arrogant
Damnnnn just imagine a prime Gil and a prime Kobe, at first thought it seems hard to see cause both are ball dominant and Kobe is not playing 2nd fiddle to anyone lol but Gil has that same mentality like he was a great first option but that is a duo I would’ve loved to see
"i talked myself out of the job" same dude that dropped in the draft bc he said he wanted to be a pimp.
Those incidents stemmed from different emotions tho. He was young, stupid & didn’t take the process seriously. Fast forward, now he’s injured, unable to play how he used to play & now he’s doubting his abilities, plus being concerned about outside opinions. Hell the man still has a mouth on him. That part hasn’t changed
Sometimes you are your on worst enemy 😡 it's a shame when you can't see it..
IN OTHER WORDS, STEPH/KLAY/KD WARRIORS GOT GIL BACK IN TO WATCHING NBA BASKETBALL AGAIN!!!🏀💯💯💯🏀
Dude a real homie man. He just didn’t have a big bro. It would a been cool to see him wit a shaq or a mourning or play w Tracey mcgrady
Wow the ego is the problem…if you accept yourself within, you won’t worry so much without
That might’ve been the best thing for Kobe and gil
That's crazy, had no clue he let that end his career and that was before the social media takeover!!
That’s why Kobe the goat. He navigated through the hate from “running shaq out” and a rape case.. bounced back, greatest performances ever, and multiple championships. RESILIENCE ‼️🏆😎
That's crazy and ja walking round flashing his gun
You wasn' cocky enough to not bring a gun to a fist fight!!😂😂
Mamba and Agent Zero would have been crazy🤯
Damn Gil!! SE Miss you son
This is fascinating.
Wow!!! Glad he bounce back 4 da culture...
Damn I never knew he went through all that, sometimes the drop off got less to do with injuries than people let on
I respect Fomby
That shit was real. Feel that way going to work. Didnt even bring a gun to work.
He's bipolar. He's nuts
That's exactly why i'm not on Social media that often.
