I love how Baldric is the only one who can understand the diver guy. I choose to believe that this is because he is fluent in Bucket as one of his languages
I have always enjoyed Baldric as a character, for multiple reasons. One is because Earndil is great at playing him, but another is I have always understood why he acts like he acts and says what he says and does what he does. His anger and exasperation has always been.....very human and understandable. This whole response is exactly what would happen, especially since he had missed one or two big group conversations by simply traveling at the time. So everyone in the group kind of knows about each other and the whys of what they are doing what they are doing, but no one has known why Baldric is doing anything and until now no one has asked. Add that to the fact that there's the constant....destruction and voiding of his privacy in his own home, something i could see being a big point simply because it might be the only thing he has left from his old life. A physical link to something he used to have.
Bruuuuh, this has been my life lol, heck, even just like Baldric. I also decided to be better to fulfill the expectations that are constantly placed on me
I find Baldric enjoyable when he’s not rebelling against the idea of his found family. He is supposed to be a pretty empathic guy who cares about the people (he wants to work alone so the others do not get in trouble) but his actions indicate the idea that he can’t stand and this sentiment extends to npc’s like kronch and picturn. I sorta believe the only people he has a genuine bond with are the ones he shows active contempt for like victrix. So I guess by the logic he see’s rehua as a brother or something given the scene
30:00 this has always been an interesting question to me. when you make an fantastical world with fantastical creatures in it. where do you draw the line. what is fact and what is fairly tales and superstition in a fantastical world? because for us reading about or watching the world from the outside, is it fantastical, but for the people living in the fantastical world, it is just reality. so what would there superstition and fairly tales be like?
The more we learn about Baldric, the more i suspect hes a VERY important figure, former Outset noble perhaps. Thurston playing The Count was unexpected and funny. Yay! We made it to the airship!
I would have loved if Baldric had turned it on Tannhauser and made him have an existential crisis by saying something like "Isnt forcing people into someone's personal area just a form of oppression and tyranny that the Tyrants guild did not even stoop too?"
@@De_La_Evo I have not heard this episode in nearly 2 months. But as I recall, Tann "Appropriates" his house and home to be used by his revolution group. Which is taking over personal space and forcing it on people. Which even the Tyrants guild did not do. They just killed people, not forced to live in the same house as them.
1:01:38 I died laughing at this part. On the left we have Rahua wanting to add more people to the housing crisis On the right we have Baldric a grumpy alchemist who’s tired of people being In his house and has finally had it 2:01:56
A death flag is a narrative tool that uses a character's expression of their hopes for the future to subtly hint that they will not live long enough to see those hopes fulfilled.
@ebertwix5860 considering this is a world built off inspiration from Dark Souls and Elden Ring. It's very likely that nobody will. Hells the only reason the party is able to continue is because of their sponsorship, they've all already met their end. But man that'd be a punch in the gut if it were a permanent loss.
I love seeing new NPCs being introduced, they show much life and variety is in this world (and the casts’ / DMs creativity), but I must say, the Count still took me by surprise 🤣
Honestly, I'm surprised they didn't cut the gordian knot and explain that they're on a mission from the Outset Government, and that they're out to slay an extreme Rot danger. That would probably have cut out much of the twitching between them and the Delvers
TH-cam gets really terrible with it. We try to only have 3 breaks total over the 2-3 hours. Sometimes, TH-cam however puts in a billion ads. And then we have to go back and try to fix it. Check on our last community post about it! We don't like it either.
@@NarrativeDeclaration No worries, I know TH-cam is TH-cam. Im just hoping that y'all are getting paid for the ads, I know you try to mitigate the chikanery after its posted.
I feel for Baldric, and Earndil is an amazing VA. That being said, as a viewer I'm a bit concerned for the story. The fighting makese sense plot wise but it was painful to hear as a podcast listener, I was scared the party was splitting the entire time, so much anxiety. We have spent over a year (2 years now?) establishing these characters, they are intimately tied to the plot. How would the party work with a whole new character arc introduction, sponsorship, and conveyence of party known info? Im sure Earndil can easily make another character, I'm just worried it wont be the same dynamic of Rotgrind we as viewers have become accustomed to. I have 100% faith in the crew, just worried is all.

1:16:04 I love these random Pi cameos that happen periodically.
Can't wait for Tannhauser and Not Kevin to launch into a heated debate over the financial legitimacy of selling blenders for 99 copper.

Thurston knew exactly what he was doing when he said the delvers where homeless. I love it.

I like to imagine Evil Chilis is required by company policy to have one vampire on staff for greeting purposes
I love the cone heads, it was a childhood favourite of mine. My family still quite it

Suddenly Urien Rakarth appears.

I hate magic spacial dimension shenanigans. They went from mansion to the under city to the freakin airship!
I hope you guys are getting paid good fob all the ads in getting in this vid. I think I'm averaging two unskippable ads every 10 minutes

Baldric is the most good of the characters while earndil is the most evil player
