Honestly having each character be so damn different from each other in the quiet moments is great storytelling. Each having their own reaction to the bombshell of last episode makes so much sense for their development.

@@zacharybosley1935 Being part of the character is the stats and abilities that Odo has selected for Vina. It is one thing for her to fail on skills she isn't trained in. It is another to consistently roll so low that she fails even in skills she is trained in. That is the 4th wall breaking comment I made. The GM, players and audience all know that Vina isn't weak she just has some of the worst roll luck out of the party. You can certainly incorporate consistently low roles into your role play. The issue is that it isn't something you can character development out of. If the dice RNG keeps kicking Odo in the shins then there is no chance for Vina to be anything else.
@@gothpunkboy89 That would be true in any system but p2e, but Proficiency in Pathfinder 2nd edition inherently disregards luck at high enough levels. rolling a 1 on the die doesn't necessarily mean failure if you're so proficient, if you've worked so hard that your modifiers could only make a critical success on the roll.
@@zacharybosley1935 Considering a Nat 1 is one degree of failure that sounds a lot like min maxing. Or PF just not having good scaling with higher level players. But I also don't know the PF system outside of what I've picked up from the games and some casual internet searches. So I have no ground to stand on.
@@gothpunkboy89 To be fair, The UnDestined Band of chucklefucks are likely to keep fighting higher and higher level threats, and Vina's probably going to "look" less competent where she needs to roll a 10+, but if she keeps looking back she'll see how far she's come.
I’m rewatching rotgrind and I’m can’t help but want it to become an animated series or something like that because it’s just such a good storyline! Then again I want this with most or Narrative Declaration’s games.
I kinda had the inking that baldric had some kind of disfigurement and thats why no one sees him without his helmet but i didn't expect him to be missing half of the tissue and muscle around his mouth that has to have been somekind of alchemy accident or he got it defending someone he held dear to him
The engineers guild approves of this episode. Real Life ENgineer's channel has enforced my opinion that engineers hate architects and this campaign only reinforces the notion. Dang architects. (Hugs Vina). Poor Odo; being cursed with terrible rolls. Is Baldric building an effing nuke? Funny everyone else has thought the same.

I’m not typically any kind of conspiracy theorist but judging off info previously presented and observed…. So all the palasters came about by the people working to make them disappearing like the Mayans, overnight and then the things showed up? So kinda like Rehua and King of Moths??? Rehua was all that was left of the machine as it snipped of a piece of entropy by sacrificing the lives of the cult of the lidless eye that the King made who turned into some kind of eldritch pasty pearly stone looking thing that looks kinda the way the palasters are described as…. Who built the machine used to cause the incident off of ANCIENT info and blueprints.
Well the campaign did start with the most common FF1 team dieing horribly in the arena........ And currently ends with the big bad being defeated by the twist big bad.
I don't have access to the lore PDF but I think they established the Pawns collapsed a long long long time ago. Though I could see delvers being contracted to explore and look for pieces of the fallen pilaster in the ruins.

I LOVED this Episode. I LOVE these long roleplaying sessions where the player get to PLAY their characters. I just wished that they would also roleplay more as there characters when they are in combat, they kind of forego the roleplaying when they are fighting and that I just find boring. also lore question, I thought the reason that the city of Outset kept building upward was because of the border restrictions and the fact the city is in a swamp and constantly sinking, so everything was built on top of the old?

One day Earndil is gonna drop the complete Baldric lore and it will have us all in tears.
Agreed.
He does come across as a man carrying a heavy weight.
I'm rewatching the episode after catching it live just because I only got to watch the last minute of Baldric's meltdown
what is in the bucket ;-;
I was fully expecting him to be a elf milf from that 1 episode thumbnail 😅

I can't believe that Earndil revealed that Baldric used to have a pet cat in casual roleplay. Keywords "used to". Poor guy.
So does his character Kevin the Wizard / Accountant

All though Vina's speech I couldn't help but think that she is to hard on herself. She isn't weak she just has really cursed rolls.
Cursed rolls are also a part of the character, no?
I think there's a story to the idea that whenever Vina needs to clutch up, she fumbles.
