    That was a sweet find for 200 bucks and that machine is really in great shape . You can’t find anything that nice around here for that price !! Great job Lee

      Around here , all the suburbans or the GT’s or any other garden tractors go for at least 300 to 600 . Some don’t even have engines and most of them are in horrible shape . There is a guy about 25 miles from my house that has 3 Sears suburbans and he want 300 apiece for them and you couldn’t make one out of all 3 . I look everyday on FB market place !! Have a great one my friend .

    To make it easier to lift the box blade, tighten the lift spring. Single bolt from back, upper left of back plate. Move the lift link from the outer hole to one of the holes closer to the back of tractor. Makes an amazing difference. I have one and have done this.

    These are my favorite tractors I used one for plowing and field work and mowing for years and I just baught a 5000.dependimg on how heavy the implement is it can b a pain to lift it back up and u need to hold it up to adjust the fine hite adjustment .I plowed the big manure pile with the 3000 .the 3speed hi lo is wa better then the autos.i have most of the sleeve hitch parts to add on my 5000

    That is a great machine, I just picked up the hydrostatic version of the tractor myself. It amazes me how poorly people treat their equipment though, this one clearly been sitting outside and rusting away. Mine was not much better when I got it, but I only paid 200 for it.

    The rear tires are worth a bunch. I put a set of 23 X 10.5 - 12 tires on a John Deere, the tires cost $139 . So you got a great deal, on that tractor. Even without the mower deck 😊

    • @MurphyMower
      @MurphyMower  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks and I agree the tires are worth quite a bit

      The one thing I didn't understand about the tires, when I was looking for tires the tires I got were actually bigger than the stock size, the bigger tires were $8 a piece cheaper than stock size. I knew they would work is why I got the bigger tires. The customer wanted to keep the cost down as much as possible. I did what I could.

    If you tighten up on the deck spring assist lift it makes it a lot easier to go up and down

    The hitch is real long and it looks like it needs a deck on it as a counterweight to kind of pull down on the whole system to help pick it up

    There is a spring system on the craftsman. setting on the tractor you will see a bolt at the top of the frame that adjust the tension makes it a lot easier. the spring hooks up at the top of that bracket where the long rod hooks up

    • @MurphyMower
      @MurphyMower  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have never adjusted that, but have suspected it was a part of the system

    Around 2015 I got a free one that looked like that but had the hydrostatic drive. It didn’t run. I parted it out selling everything except the back wheels and tires. When I sold the hydrostatic transaxle used the guy wanted a warranty, “a warranty”? I replied with,,,, then I said I’m not a dealer and I don’t warranty old used parts for anyone.

    I have same tractor, I can't find the starter solenoid - do you know where the starter solenoid is on these tractors ?

    • @MurphyMower
      @MurphyMower  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not with it at the moment but it’s most likely under the battery tray
      Just follow the red wire from the starter back and you’ll find it

    • @MurphyMower
