    Boiling water is 212 degrees and damage occurs around 450 so I don’t think it’s hot enough to hurt the hair. Especially since 212 is nowhere near hot enough to straighten my hair.

    I wish I had watched this a week ago. The old crusty flat iron method to singe the hair would have been wayyyyy easier when we did our daughter’s braids. Loved this video. It was super helpful.

    Love this. having a hard time finding a braider who braids All the WAY DOWN as far as you can go. It really helps with the unraveling and just keeping the hair in place. Ty for this I was starting to think I'm asking too much. Usually after I get my hair done I have to go home and rebraid and redip so annoying...

    The problem I'm having is after I dip the hair is hot water for a straight look it crinkles at the ends. Is the water too hot? Or is it the braiding hair I'm using?

    Hello, I have a question... I dipped the ends of my braids in boiling hot water for 10 seconds approximately but they still unraveled, do you have any ideas as to why that happened?

    • @C.C-e4n
      @C.C-e4n 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Could be one of two reasons that I can think of. One, maybe the braids were too thick. The thicker the end of the braid, the more likely it is to unravel. Two, did you braid all the way down to the very end? I know it's more work to braid those tiny little strands of hair, but it really helps to prevent it from unraveling in the future.

    I’m trying to learn how to do add in braids for my 5 yr old daughter because although I am very white… she got lucky and has ethnic hair from a great great great great grandmother on her dads side. My hubby also has hair that is similar ethnic hair. And his hair is very textured towards his scalp. My daughters has been very fragile and used to be ringlets when she was 2 but since then they have been changing and her hair has not been as curly as it used to be. I have tried so many different options and I’ve started to think this might be the way for me to do her hair…

    How do u do this with 6 inch men’s box braids? They look great after I finish braiding them but after like 3 days they start to unravel at the ends a little and when I get in the water some of em completely unravel and the rest just get rly soft and curly and I have to take em out and redo them

    For some reason when I a braid it curls at the end by itself even when I want straight ends I’m not sure if I’m braiding to tight or what may be going on do you have any tips or suggestions

    • @VandyVanity
      @VandyVanity  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You may be braiding too tightly. The tighter it is the more it will curl on itself. Also make sure your water is boiling during the dipping, and let it dry cool before manipulating it.

    My problem was that the braiding hair was unraveling at the ends before I could even finish the braids. I had to rebraid the ends and dip them individually so they would stay and then dipped the whole thing again after to make sure. I was braiding on my daughter. She has fine straight straight straight hair.

    • @im2classi
      @im2classi 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Invest in some single prong pin curl clips. Put them at the end of your braids. This will save time so you don’t have to rebraid the hair. It also helps to make sure all braids are the same length.

    • @anonymousperson1627

      I'm a braider, please please please do not put boiling hot water on your ends! A great tip would be to either:
      1) Make sure your sections that you are crossing over is already even and the grip is consistent toward the end and tightly bound by friction.
      2) Borrow hair towards the end so the hair could hold itself together.
      If you are still confused, reply to this message and I can give you a business email for help (no charge).
