I don't agree with the sentiment here. Buying cheaper lures doesn't mean they will be bad. I use Kingdom and Noeby hard plastics from AliExpress, which are easily as good as the most expensive brands. In fact, Kingdom used to manufacture lures for the top brands. HTO and Savage Gear are mid-tier brands, whose lures are the absolute bollocks. The HTO Canine pays homage to the Patch, yet can be bought for £5.99 from Veals. The SG Panic Prey V2, Panic Popper and Salt Prey are all top class, proven Bass catchers. Top tier lure prices are indefensible IMHO. Each to their own though, obviously.
I noticed they slightly changed the lip design on the yo zuri crystal minnow over the years. I have a really old one which I found somewhere. It was in an awful state, all the holographic tape was gone and the paint was in bits. I sanded it down to clear plastic and re-painted it in a sardine inspired pattern. It turn out great for cans of spray paint, I don't havecan air brush. Can't wait to nail a few bass on it 🙂
The yo zuri cost £11 5 times as much as those real cheap ones. Interestingly I've managed to get some other plugs from China and these do look a lot better quality so will give those a go too.
@@SaltwaterAngler still cheap I had one this summer never had bass on it only pike and lost it to the snag I found it wasn't a great caster. That's my main criticism of it
I caught my PB on a J11. The J13s dive a lot deeper so easily lost. They’re better from a yak or boat. We started fishing with J11s way back in the late 80s before lure fishing for bass was really known. In all that time the J11 has caught me an awful lot of bass. I love the fiish black minnow and storm 360.biscay weedless shad for shore casting, they’re great, but no good for inshore trolling. Again the J11 is great for trolling. It dives down about 5 feet, and you can tell by the rattling on your rod tip that it’s fishing properly. If it gets weeded, the rattling action stops, and you know it’s time to reel it in and remove the weed. I’ve had some clonkers on the J11, a very versatile lure. No good in the wind though from the shore.
This popped up into my feed again for some reason, so I thought I'd make a quick update. My favourite top water of 2020 is the Whiplash Factory Spittin' Wire. I've caught 18 bass in 3 sessions using it; it's an insane lure and I am getting super confident with it. The other lure I have caught on this year is the Albie Snax soft plastic in pearl white. Good luck when you manage to get out again; hopefully won't be too long now!

I use lures from aliexpress only.There are many excellent catchers there.And very often mates near my using only japanese lures stay wo any fish, or they catch less than me.I use bearking, kingdom,hunhosuse and many more.Cheap doesnt mean bad, dude...
when it comings to spinning comdoms is tops, so don,t get suckerd in with spending loads of money, more anglers are caught than fish , it,s knowledge that catches fish.
Not a lot of good over a shallow reef though, are they? I would say 80% of my bass fishing is over ground where you can only use weedless plastics and surface plugs. I'm certain I'm not alone. I've got a jig to make condoms,as I used them a lot for salmon, but I found I got a lot of follows on them with bass.
There are MANY excellent cheap lures on aliexpress.I use only chinese lures, and till now i cant complain at all.Im fishing only at Mediterenian Sea -seabass,bluefish,bonitos,barracudas.They catch as the expensive ones.U have to read the feedback for given lure to decide is it good or no.
It's the megabass zonk. Because of supply issues the only way I've managed to find it again is to search for the lure and match the colours on the picture. This has been marketed in the past as various colours so be careful. The amazon link below could be used as a colour pallet. I've checked my usual suppliers and none have them in stock, it's possibly a discontinued colour. I'd recommend them in white, cotton candy and a mackerel immitation too. I'm always searching so if I find a good supply I will post it on the big bass video and here. Thanks for watching those zonks are brilliant and there's about 6 of them lost somewhere on the South Coast snags!

My tip would be: don't leave the price tag on the lures. That way the fish won't know how much they cost! Hope this helps. R.

When I used to lure fish for Bass my best lure was the Maria Chase in cotton candy.
nemesisslr cotton candy is a killer colour. ima sf125 and mishna eels in that have accounted for a lot of fish

You say don't buy cheap but your best lure this season is what most would call a cheap lure.

Yes agreed it isn't the best caster.
You should by cheep because if you loose it doesn’t matter and expensive it’s a lot of money and upgrade the hooks
Yozuri crystal minnow is killer Its my best saltwater lure and also first lure I caught Seabass with.
Glad you mentioned it , it’s been a killer this year 2020 and there’s a video out where we catch a 6lber on it on Friday too !
