Hi i have one problem with everdrive cartridge SNES cartidge china ver 1. The catridge start normally and show all game list, however when i choose any game it didn't load and screen freeze. I tried al ot of game but same result. I testing it on super nes old console. Maybe you know solution?
hello there does this everdrive work chrono trigger and final fantasy 3? this is just the two games tgat i want to play. or does it have a lost that does not work. thnx
where can i get a snes cartridge that got the entire Donkey Kong 3 and Mario World and a lot of other snes great games on that 1 cartridge ? I been looking on amazon and ebay but i don't know the name of the cartridge to find it ?
Just got this in the mail :-) Got it with DSP chip compatibility for $20 extra. Basically just to play mario kart and a couple other games. Main thing i wanted this cart for was to play super metroid, earthbound, turtles in time, knights of the round, final fight 3, chrono trigger, and final fantasy games.
BillyTheBigDeal Just orderied mine and I'm in the same boat wanting to play actual translations of Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy games. How does saving your game work?
the same way as saving on a normal cartridge. It saves to the SDRAM or whatever its called. But you can transfer the save to your computer later (dont believe you can use it on a emulator later though.) No save states though like an emulator (or the mega everdrive) can do.
I've just got one these and their amazing ! You can get this cart with with DSP 1 2 3 4 support now and it's an extra $25 even with that option added it's still $80 cheaper than an SD2SNES
This is brilliant. Can I do this for an Atari 2600? I really want to find out how to get this to run on a modern TV. I've found how to MOD the console so the output will run on new ports but it's all American. Would you do a video how to get my Atari 2600 to run and if there is a SD Cartridge ?
There is a cheaper option, dunno if it works on PAL machines, but it's the Super UFO Pro 8, which you can get for around $50 USD, theoretically you can play any SNES game on it. It accomplishes this by allowing you to piggy back a compatible cart on top of the flash cart. The only enhancement chip I was unable to get working through this was the SuperFX/FX2. I haven't gotten Star Ocean to run but that's because I don't have Street Fighter Alpha 2 (should get it really) on the SNES to piggy back. I also can't get 48megabit games to load up, so no Dragon Quest 3. it also lets you backup/restore the saves on your SNES carts to the SD card. But if you have the cash, the Everdrive or the SD2SNES are the better options by far. Your SNES is in pretty good condition for its age, you using scart with it?
The most used chips are the DSP-1, CX-4 chip and GSU-2-SP1(FX Chip.) DSP was used in 16 games. Megaman x-2 and x-3 are wel known ones. FX chip obviously for Starfox and a few other titles. CX was used in Mario RPG and Star Ocean games. Those a just a few to name.
+lanceuppercut88 2 posts inside where the cart goes in on north american snes consoles, pop them off with a pair of pliers and your snes is cross country compatible :)
+Junkk Post That's exactly what I want to know before I buy! If I can play Japanese and American ROMS through the NES, SNES, mega drive and N64 everdrives then they're an immediate purchase for me. But if the likes of NTSC roms do not work when played on a PAL machine i'm gonna cry :/
Pretty cool device. I have the N64 everdrive version and its absolutely fantastic having every N64 game available. I'm slightly less convinced by this SNES version as its not 100% compatible due to the custom chips the SNES used - also SNES is very very easily emulated on most devices now. The N64 was a different beast, as emulation is very patchy. Still, a great idea though.
The only deal braker for me is that it only has 7,5MB/8MB of storage space so games can be not bigger then 8MB and while most snes games are only 1MB,BUT i do like to use nested emulator to play nes games on the snes, but many nes games once patched with nested go beyond 8MB so i can’t play them, sure theres the trunscation option to make those patched nes games smaller in sizeBUT that doesn’t alway’s work as i still can end up with a black screen, also some snes homebrew games or demo’s do go beyond 8MB so i can’t play them either, why could they not have you slapped in 16MB just to account for this am mean memory is dirt cheap these day’s,it’s not like the 90’s when memory was still freaking damn expensive so i really don’t get it why they just don’t add up some extra memory space to get around this,am mean it’s just annoying to get an error massage saying file size is too large,my powerpak does have 16MB of storage so i got no problems with that, oke the bios and it’s behavior may somewhat different, for instance it cannot handle trunscated patched nes games,it cannot auto save and it only has 8KB of sram,BUT it’s 16MB of space and builtin dsp1 chip makes up for this.
So, I have the original physical NES and Super NES cartridges. Is there a way for me to download those games onto an SD chip? If I'm not mistaken, your way requires me to download games from the internet onto an SD chip. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Emulation is convenient but some games aren't compatible with emulators which would then require you to play on the original hardware. Now my only gripe with playing on the original hardware is the lack of HD, but I doubt there's much difference playing SNES emulator on a 720p screen vs. a CRT monitor.
Actually there is. Most newer tvs actually run at a different frequency compared to crts at the time. So picture will be to large or fuzzy as hell. Some HD tvs you can adjust the input frequency of the ports so it will come in correctly. Lucky for me I have a 31' old CRT myself laying around so hooking up isn't a issue.
Jason Leon Yeah now that you had mentioned it, that could be a factor. However, there are some emulators like bsnes a.k.a. higan that have settings that allow you to adjust those frequencies so that games plays as similar as the original hardware.
True but they all have errors and timing issues. That is why you need a 200 mhz system to emulate a system with a 3.25 mhz system.... Hard to software harware.
Jason Leon Right... Some minor quirks are noticeable during emulation (mainly if you've played the original game), but I can easily ignore them as they don't ruin my gaming experience. Sync and pitch issues are deal breakers for me when playing an emulator. The worst one I've noticed was OpenEmu on the Mac
I haven't owned a Mac in well over 15 years... Wow I am old. My computer system is built for emulation so I do it a tad. Mainly PS2, Wii, and Gamecube. I tend to use Shadow of The Colossus for CPU and GPU benchmarking. Just there is something in slamming a cart down into a system though.. Holding a Controller... Just smexy! Makes me feel like my parents and records.
I've just started buying retro games again and have searched ebay for many hours. TMNT turtles in time £59.99 cart only, £200 boxed!!! Super Metroid £99, Super Punch Out 80 quid, contra 4 £100!!! these prices are a joke. The everdrive seems like the perfect solution.
wow thx for this great tutorial. I have a question I found my nintendo 2004 inside a the trash can with games and he has a lot additional stuff. Now I have connected a box under my snes with name Sattelaview I read it is for data, tv stuff but I try all but it doesn't work :( do I need extra card to use it?
I've just recently found out about the sd2snes cartridge, which is significantly better than the everdrive. both made by the same guy. it supports a lot of the enhanced chips which the everdrive does not. it costs more but worth it i think. :)
really wish they went with the super fx instead of the dsp series. It's much cheaper to just get a copy of Mario Kart or Pilotwings than it is to get Yoshi's Island and Mario RPG.
Emuparadise no longer support ROM downloads you'll need to find another site, I used romsmania.cc. Am going to try and apply this info to Super Everdrive China... Fingers crossed!
an extremely expensive product and that a simple tvbox with a simple emulator works the games and still saves the state of the game without needing all this manpower kkkkkkkkkkkk
you don't need to own them, but you at least have had to owned them once in the past, according to the legal disclaimer he talked about at the end. also it's a good way to not wear out your cartridges. i myself have copied my PlayStation games so that i minimize the risk of scratches on my original games. also got two PlayStations, one chipped and one untouched. some of us do what we can so that we don't wear out or break our childhood memories.
That isn't true, you NEED to own a backup made by yourself to legally own a Rom Backup. If you don't own a game anymore but have the backup, then it becomes into a Pirated ROM and not a legal backup anymore. Downloading ROMs around the world is very illegal to do, even if the game is discontinued. Until these games become Public Domain after the Copyright Protection expires, then it is illegal. If you want to dump Cartridge Games, I recommend to use a device called a Retrode for Sega Genesis and Super NES Games as well as others such as N64 with adapters
Probably for a few different reasons. The increase in popularity of retro games along with old games getting more and more expensive is probably the main reason. The Everdrives provide a moderately cheap way of playing most retro games, which is wonderful for people that are just interested in playing rather than collecting the games.
hello I'm from Brazil it is much better to buy a tv box and install snes9x e + ... this eumulator is perfect. I bought my tvbox for 135.00 reais about 27.00 dollars well into account and still have his android to use like access internet youtube and do searches on the internet. It has wifi ethernet cable lan 3 usb ports and memory card input, hdmi. and a composite video output to rsss. this your everdrive there and much more complicated to use than an emulator in a tvbox kkkkkkk besides being expensive kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkk. kkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

is compatible with ntsc version console?
How do you get to the game genie part ?
Can you save games on this? (Like if you are playing a role playing game, can you come back to it?)
Yes
Just got this in the mail :-) Got it with DSP chip compatibility for $20 extra. Basically just to play mario kart and a couple other games. That's what I needed to know! Thank you! So I can save my game, exit the ROM/turn off the system, reload the ROM and my save file will be there?
yes, :-)
I've just got one these and their amazing ! You can get this cart with with DSP 1 2 3 4 support now and it's an extra $25 even with that option added it's still $80 cheaper than an SD2SNES

How do I work this for a v1 cartridge?
Exactly what I was looking for. Well done and informative. Thanks!
It's 3x the price of the SNES Console... :/ but I guess it's cheaper and easy than buying the games..
Does the ever drive keep your saved data on battery based games?
yes, the everdrive create an save data in a folder similar to the pc emulators and charge this when you start a game.
There is a cheaper option, dunno if it works on PAL machines, but it's the Super UFO Pro 8, which you can get for around $50 USD, theoretically you can play any SNES game on it. I have not watched all your movies I thought of you just love amiga :)
I also love the Amiga and consoles :) greetings from newark :)
Is this still bein updated?

That's awesome, that's the best option! It also stores the saves on the sd card, do you know how many years that cartridge last?
How do you know if it's the latest version?
Does this cart work on a North American SNES? That cart don't look like the ones we got
+lanceuppercut88 2 posts inside where the cart goes in on north american snes consoles, pop them off with a pair of pliers and your snes is cross country compatible :)
I believe an everdrive goes into a american SNES too even tho it looks different. The cartridge is designed work for all the systems
Good vid Dan, hmm thinking of a Retron5 with one of these carts for each system hmm lol
As much as I love emulators I can't wait to get an everdrive for each of my consoles
Its weird because I got a SNES emulator on my PSP, and Mario Kart doesn't work on that either
Can you play ROMs from any region on this?
+Junkk Post That's exactly what I want to know before I buy! If I can play Japanese and American ROMS through the NES, SNES, mega drive and N64 everdrives then they're an immediate purchase for me. But if the likes of NTSC roms do not work when played on a PAL machine i'm gonna cry :/
is this an emulator or does it actually like the real cartridge?
+maak it's roms images being fed directly from the cart through the console from the sd card, so it's identical
Pretty good for homebrew games :) Really want one but always out of stock when i have the pennies.
does this work on a super famicon?
yes it does, it works for both PAL/ntsc

will it let you play super fx games like starfox or stunt racer fx
nice but if you own a xbox classic moded with emulator you cand add any game and run fasters

with a Super Nintendo you can see your games are un 50 htz with black strips up and down, and a game 20% lower. sorry for my english^^
Just switch it and you'll be able to play the games you can't always afford cheaply in europe at 60Hz

+Tashiro Sato unless it has the extra chipsets on there, then it's not the best. that is what I call an unarguable fact :)
+Tashiro Sato it can't run multiple systems. only ones it's been specifically made for.
Paul Bennett - Significantly more expensive too for a few dozen extra games.
Nothing. I repeat, nothing beats playing games on their original hardware. All the Classic Minis are rubbish.
I might have to get the PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 version of this!
Retro towers have been out of stocks for MONTHS?!!?!!
really wish they went with the super fx instead of the dsp series.
It's much cheaper to just get a copy of Mario Kart or Pilotwings than it is to get Yoshi's Island and Mario RPG.
Now i can play Kaizo SMW on an CRT Tv
Nice vid..makes me want to buy a snes...the missus wouldnt be impressed :)

Nintendo are real bastards in terms of the way they've handled this.
4000 unread emails?!
Thanks for video review. The menu is very sad :(
install a VPN ( virtual private network ) and download the super nintendo complete rom set
;-)
my nes everdrivre and 14" Trinitron showed up in the mail today, yay!
the nes I ordered is busted, boo!
flew too close to the sun I guess
SNES 2 SD are better. Love game genie for modding ROMs.
Good video Dan.
Unfortunately Nintendo decided to be scumbags as usual and bully emuparadise into closing it's roms.
#FuckNintendo.

Expensive AF, but then again one game is atleast 10$
grab roms you all ready own lol thats a good one.

Dude!
I like how you pronounce SNES. Haha
"snez"
Up here in North Dakota (America) we called it the Super NES. I never heard anyone say "SNES" until TH-cam came around.

Snessssssss
That's how you pronunce it in italian so for me it's normal 😂😂
