Your might watch the acoustic performance for "Puzzle" where Kanami does some background singing for Saiki. And talking about Sayonakidori in the acoustic version: It's Akane who does the background singing for Miku.
I do understand you like Akane and MISA, but this was the order originally set, by Ohrenge is Saiki --> Kanami --> Akane --> MISA --> Miku (3 part.) As they all have some tie ins which build upon each other. I would highly encourage you to watch all of them, as each members uniqueness are parts that make up the whole. And there's a reason Miku has 3 parts. It's unfortunate many see Miku as less prominent in the band as she does the backing vocals, which is often viewed as taking a backseat to the lead vocals and the rhythm guitar, which often is seen as taking a backseat to the lead guitar, but there would be no Band-Maid without Miku. She is the heart of the band and I believe Ohrenje did a fantastic job giving an account of Miku...the woman behind the band. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘 As for a song they all sing, at least the harmony part, I'm only aware of "Page" from their online Christmas Acoustic Okyu-ji on 12/25/2021. Other OG Maidiacs, update this if you know other songs they all sing. I think there was some stuff early, early on. Also in this Christmas show, they breakdown into different groups. And one of the groups with Miku (singing lead), Akane (doing backing vocals) and MISA. "Sayonakidori" Official Acoustic Live is on their YT page. "Sayonakidori" was mentioned in the video when they were talking about Kanami pushing Miku. If you plan to listen to Sayonakidori, I suggest listening to the electric version first and then you can get a complete different feel for the song as Miku rearranged it for this show. Every single one will make you feel like this. Every lady in this band is special. I'd do Saiki next, because they're kind of created to be played in a specific order, one will reference things you learn in the other. Saiki Kanami Akane Misa Miku
If you want to hear them ALL sing, find that little videoclip they have recorded in 2016, before coming to America for the first time. It's an acapella, where they just sing "America, America, America, America, America", five times with a shift (it's called "canon" in vocals, I think). Akane starts, and then each other member joins in, until they all repeat in unison, "America!" Nothing too fancy, they don't sound like Pentatonix, of course, but still, it was a very cute and nice video. Kind of, "America, here we come!"
Kanami actually has perfect pitch, there is a scene somewhere where she is helping Miku tune by singing the pitches. She is the mad genius composer of BandMaid, the literal musical heart. Initially I think she gave pretty complete scratch drum and bass tracks for demos but recent interviews indicate she isn’t as tight with those and relies much more on Akane and Misa. However she is still the driving composer, which is why BM can be musically complex but still sound perfectly harmonically integrated.
In a fan club newsletter, Akane described her long time friendship with Kanami (back to school days) and described the band coming together as a community of destiny. All of these magic happenstances will become apparent when you watch all the other docs.
Great reaction to the first in the series, it is recommended to watch them in the order as presented on Ohrenje YT channel as each one will build on the following one as revealing different information and the band. Be sure toi save Miku's three parts for the end. Also, Miku is an 810 year old pigeon and says PO a lot when talking (she is the only member that says PO).
There is a classic post from band camp where Akane, Saiki and Miku are cooking and Misa is still in bed, they are messing around and they look out at Kanami downstairs, working hard in the studio on the music….
Po: Miku's last name is Kobato. Ko in japanese means small and hato means pigeon. (h and b are interchangeable sometimes) So Kobato literally means "small pigeon". In Japan, the sound that pigeons make is po po po. So Miku adds po to her sentences a lot to the point that at one point a manager told her to stop it. The manager left later and Miku saw her opportunity and began doing it again. Her problem is she can't turn it off now. The other maids complain about it alot. She will be in a convenience store and say po and the shopkeeper does not know what to do. BTW, the acoustic song at the end was Puzzle and the final song with the long guitar intro was Daydreaming. I know you want to watch Akane next but you should watch Saiki as the history builds on with each episode, then Akane, Misa and there are three Miku.
Not sure if says in Kanami's the years for stuff because its assumed the doc's are viewed in order. 1. Saiki 2. Kanami 3. Akane 4. MISA 5. Miku. But 2013 is the year they formed. Skipping around tends to lead to missing information. Also Akane and Misa's are being updated not sure on the releases though. Edit: yes she said what you thought you heard. Really the word just means perv lol.
“Without Holding Back” was the first track you asked about. The White Room instrumental is the way to go! ❤ The second song, during the education part of the documentary, the song was “Don’t apply the brake” from their New Beginning album. And yes, “Sayonakidori” is that super high note for Miku. In okiyujis, everyone is holding their breath waiting for Miku to hit that note at the end. When she does? Roar!! The “hentai” moment was a one off. I don’t think Kanami appreciated that one, honestly. Miku was saying how the fans were worshipping Saiki. Saiki proved it by flinging her sweat at the fans who cheered it on. Kanami, pretending to be jealous, waved Saiki to throw sweat her way too. That’s what prompted Miku’s joke (hentai meaning “pervert”) Although it was obviously a joke, knowing the girls? I don’t doubt that Miku really apologized privately for that one. The sweet acoustic was “anemone” from the Yokohama show.
Kanami does gang vocals in "Cross" and "Rock in me" (latter actually fronted by Miku not Saiki. Kanami is actively participating in the chorus on "Puzzle" (the acoustic version if it)
The song that's playing in the opening is one of BAND-MAID's instrumental songs called "WITHOUT HOLDING BACK" Yes, it is! The youngest one is the vocalist Saiki, who turned 30 this February. On the other hand, the oldest is Miku, who will unexpectedly turn 33 on her birthday this October, despite her appearance. If I remember correctly, I think the other members were classmates a year younger than Miku. As for "po," there is a Japanese nursery rhyme called "po-po-po-po pigeon-po-po," and I think it is because the Japanese have a well-established image of the sound of the pigeon called "po. Yes, it is. Kanami is not tone deaf. If you call her a rock singer, that's not true either, but she sings ballads with a voice that is rather comfortable. From my Japanese point of view, the way Orange-san incorporates background music and other elements enhances the charm of the BAND-MAID, and I think his editing skills are at a professional level. And the lead vocal solo sung by Miku Kobato is "Sayonakidori".
If you like to hear their voices, you might want to listen to some songs from the acoustic set they streamed in 2021 at Christmas time. "Puzzle" acoustic has Kanami singing backup to Saiki. "Soyonakidora" has Akane singing backup for Miku...
In the beginning there was a small pigeon 🐦 who met a guitarist 🎸 who played with a drummer 🥁 who went to school with the bassist 🎸 and then tricked the singer 🎤 to join the band then the small pigeon 🐦 asks the guitarist 🎸 please teach me how to play the guitar 🎸. The Story Continues.
Lanae, here's the scoop on po. This is "pigeon-speak" by Miku Kobato. Miku considers herself as a reincarnated 810 year old pigeon. A small pigeon. She gets offended if you call her a large pigeon. Kobato means small pigeon in Japanese. Miku ends EVERY sentence with po. All the Maidiacs know that and love it. It's just a natural and unconscious part of her conversation. At the Atlanta concert, one of the Maidiacs had towels made with" Po" to give to the audience and to the Maids. When Miku got hers, she was confused. The audience had to explain that Po is the symbol on the periodic table for polonium. I still have one of the towels. We love giving them fun gifts before and during their concerts. The Maids often have fun with the gifts.
Usually Kanami writes and composes the music. They all were asked to write lyrics for a song to see what each of them could come up with. They decided that Miku should write the lyrics from then on. There are some exceptions to those rules. Such as, Saiki wrote most of the lyrics for Hate. You should watch the Don't You Tell Me (Official Music Video) first and then follow it up with the (Official Live Video) from Yokohama Arena. That would be a great double header reaction!
Miku got an idea "If girls with maid outfit plays hard-rock, it's gonna be interesting", even she coudln't play any instruments. She was working under an agent to be an idol at that time. That was the start of this band. Miku found Mincho on Nico-Nico (Japanese TH-cam-ish website). Mincho contacted to Akane. Akane contacted to Misa. Then Miku's agent brought Saiki. Saiki was doing her activity as a dancer and singer by herself. One small idea by a girl at every corner brought Genius of guitar, Great drummer, Godess of bass and the richest voice vocal. I think it is a kind of miracle, and it shows how Miku was lucky. And now, we are witnesses of this miracle happened in some place in Japan in 10 years ago.
Miku is the reincarnation of an 810yr old pigeon & she says "Po" at the end of each sentence cos it's the cooing sound Japanese pigeons make shortened from 'Kuruppo" :)
It may be hard to pull it up from their TH-cam channels, but during the Band-Maid Christmas on-line okyu-ji, "Page" was the last song of the okyu-ji. It's another beautiful uplifting song with ALL the Maids singing. It was a wonderful song to end the okyu-ji.
You are correct Kanami has a great voice, very sweet and angelic. For Kanami accompanying Saiki try BAND-MAID / Puzzle [acoustic, live at Zepp Tokyo 2018 ] th-cam.com/video/ayJtzPkgZTc/w-d-xo.html Kanami's backing vocals are ethearal
Kanami is far from tone deaf -- she has perfect pitch (Misa too, I believe). They all sing during the acoustic concerts, especially the Christmas concert a few years ago. Also, Kanami is second vocal to Saiki in a number of acoustic duets, where Saiki sings, and Kanami sings too and plays acoustic guitar. This happened at the Yokohama Arena concert in late 2023 -- worth watching in full (buy the bluray or DVD if you can). They all also sing in one or two Band-Maiko songs -- Misa does a great howl. They can all sing well, but Misa and Akane rarely sing and their voices are not practised at the kind of singing that Saiki, or even Miku does. You sometimes see Kanami or Akane singing along while playing during concerts, but they are not miked up. They are singing to themselves as part of keeping time with the music. By the way, while Kanami writes the songs, Misa writes her own bass part within Kanami's overall plan, and likewise Akane writes the drum part. So it is a collaboration, but Kanami is the lead composer, and overall creative music genius. "Hentai" means "pervert" in Japanese. Kanami was gathering Saiki's perspiration that Saiki was flinging at her, and Miku thought it was pretty weird and called Kanami "pervert".
The story of the creation of the group will be in the film about Mika. But it’s big, I’ll warn you right away. And by the way, Miku is the leader and manager of the group
MIKU's name is Kobato Miku. Since her name contains the character for pigeon in Japanese, MIKU and those around her call her “po” (in Japan, the sound of a pigeon's coo is called popo-po) when she speaks.

Saiki is the youngest - I think she was 19 when they started, and you asked what year that was and I think it was 2013.
Lanae, the background music at the beginning of the documentary is "Don't Be Long", one of Band-Maid instrumentals.
Saiki is the youngest by about 2 years but nevertheless is the band 'Mum'
Also please see the bands website: www.youtube.com/@BANDMAID for a complete discography.
Good idea!
Nothing to take away from the other members, but without Kanami, Band Maid would be totally different. A great composer is what makes the difference.
Which is what makes her Kanami's rival for most insane member of the band. Unless she really IS an 810 year old pigeon...
Akane and Misa added backing vocals to some of the songs in the Christmas acoustic show.
Miku Kobatu means "Little Pigeon" in Japanese, and Miku claims to be a pigeon and therefore says "Po" the sound Japanese pigeons sound.
Nice reaction i love this girls
I’m not sure if you know this or not but Kanami also taught, and continues to teach, Miku how to play guitar!
All music in the background is BAND-MAID music 👍
No need to ask what to react to.
Do it all.
You won't regret it
Nice one. Iget to know the band more
*BAND MAID!* PO!
🤘🕊🤘
Good on the line-up!
You are correct Kanami has a great voice, very sweet and angelic. For Kanami accompanying Saiki try BAND-MAID / Puzzle [acoustic, live at Zepp Tokyo 2018 ] th-cam.com/video/ayJtzPkgZTc/w-d-xo.html
Kanami's backing vocals are ethearal
I guess it won’t be spoiling since birth years isn’t mentioned. From oldest to youngest: Akane 1990 - Kanami 1991 - Miku 1991 - MISA 1993 - Saiki 1994
Please react to this series in the right order, Saiki, Kanami, Akane, Misa, then the three part Miku documentary. Thanks.
I've never seen Misa or Akane sing and yes it's Sayonekadori
The Pigeon owns your soul now. Soon she'll have all your money, too
Go in order ohrenje did them , go psyche next ,akane, misa n miku
The story of the creation of the group will be in the film about Mika. But it’s big, I’ll warn you right away. And by the way, Miku is the leader and manager of the group
Watch in the order Saiki >> Kanami >>> Akane >>> Misa >>> Miku (3 parts)
A tip for the next one - take off the subtitles. They're in Japanese and are covering up the English ones that are already there for you.

MIKU's name is Kobato Miku. Since her name contains the character for pigeon in Japanese, MIKU and those around her call her “po” (in Japan, the sound of a pigeon's coo is called popo-po) when she speaks.
