- Is there anything more satisfying in this game than landing a lance charge?
Today we are dropping into the battlefield as Panther. This medium brawler striker is one of three mechs currently in the game with melee attacks at their disposal. Unlike Alysnes and Welkin however, Panther has to rely on melee for all of its damage.
Normally this would be considered a pretty heavy downside especially for a player like me, but Panther's ability to pursue and lock down enemies makes it feasible to take down even the most mobile mechs.
The lance charge deals incredible damage especially when landing the pin up close, and the secondary melee and energy regen abilities allows you to chase and finish the job. Combine this with the shields and high defenses and Panther can be a threat to everyone on the battlefield.
So let's see how this melee monster performs on Eye of Misra.

From my eyes every unit has something crazy about them. Even Alysnes the default bro has extra lives as a gimmick
Alysnes melee is crazy on its own. A well played Alysnes can mess up any other suit in the game with its perfect parries. The trick is landing perfect parries on variable ping.
@@maxspecs He's entire play style is "Call on ambulance but no for me". Unironically has the most protagonist energy out of all the strikers

I just realized that the reason most of the mechs here, such as Panther, Alysnes, Welkin, and Skyraider are left handed, is to match the left mouse button we're using.
I'm just glad I'm a Sky Raider main and not a Falcon main. Won't die from a single lance charge unlike my more squishy sibling.
I ran into a panther that just chases and recharges sky raiders and falcons. They can’t escape, he charges and long boosts to stop even sky raiders from flying away (and regens stamina to pull off multiple long boosts). Learned to Alt drop after that match.
Panther is solid, as Tricera i feared seeing it till I learned you can perry as a Tricera.
Tricera isn't threatened much by most melee mechs unless low health. However Welkims spin attack gets through your shield and can stack up damage quickly.
I see you haven't seen what a pinaka, does to you. The scatter shot is being used wrong by most. If you point blank it, you will be dead before they run out of ammo lmao 😂

@TheLinkhawkins it also counters welkin lmao, he trys to box you, you dome shield and fire your scatter to bust his box, and just dash away he cannot catch you lol
I don't think people know that u can charge your lance while hitting them with the sword and in-between swings you can immediately spear them. And the sword melee can take you across the map and should be used as your chase mechanic to get in close. You get that one contact hit and immediately spear them. Went 12-0 on this very map doing that lol
I just ran into someone doing this in a game and it seemed really strong. I hadn't even considered melee boosting into lance but I'll have to try it now
As an Alysnes main using Panthers sword to open and then charging with lance mid combo is a much better option. Too many Panthers just charging everywhere willy nilly.

@@firespykegames it's super strong, there's only one mech you can 1 tap with this method (falcon)
LET'S GOOO PANTHER!!!! Funny thing is, I never used the recharge ability for his energy. I only ever used it for shield recharging, so I totally get the change now if I use it for energy.
That's funny because I'm like the exact opposite where I only remember to use it for the energy lol

This might be a bug but if you hold your shield then do a full charged lance attack it does almost no damage.

Definitely one of the coolest looking mechs in the game.
It is a bit oppressive imo. I just think it should have more cooldown on its energy packs. It shouldn't fly forever.

Well Armored Core has much more of a singleplayer focus than this but for multiplayer I think Mecha Break is more fun.
Does this game have single player?
There's opening story segment with a tutorial but I don't know if they're planning any additional single player content other than that. You can do custom lobbies against bots though.

He's certainly one tough SOB. Honestly they could probably tone down his tankiness a bit and he'd still be really strong.
As long as Welkins spin move is as insane as it is I don think we can claim this about any other melee mech.

@@anidiot568 My screen does freeze up on occasion still but I think that's a server-side issue that happens to everyone. You can actually see it happen near the start of my Pinaka video.
It looks like the movement is "weird", people are bumping into stuff all the time.
Honestly the movement is pretty good, is similar to Armorec Core 6 if you played that game. Just a little bit more restrictive in terms of jumping which is the biggest gripe imo
