Stego's one of the best at unleashing firepower, but it's really in a weird spot, some of its kits are quite contradictory. Stego is not tanky at all despite how heavy it is. Many of its surviving kits can be easily countered. Like the shield of the turret mode is simply niche and can do nothing against pro melee/flying mechas. Not even against snipers because the shield is just too short to even cover shots coming at 20 degrees from above. Stego is sitting duck in open areas especially when enemies have Skyraider/falcon/aquila, but its 3 becomes useless when in cramped space. Stego can be killed easily while in the centre of combat, which promotes players to move away from key combat zone or objectives to provide fire support/suppression with turret mode. However its cloak cloud provides decent support to friendly mechas especially for melee units with fluid armor depleted. But Stego moves very slow, probably the slowest mecha, so you got to choose being fire support from afar, or engage in combat and risk being rekt'd.
GG, and yeah as far as I'm concerned Stego is B tier, he's too slow and his fire can be too easily frustrated or otherwise non-critical. Shoutout to your team though, the Falcon for the captures and interrupts, the Panther for loving your Luminae, and the Luminae for being Luminae LUL
One of unit that i like to use, he's slow but quite bulky and have a nice damage. The only downside for me is his limited area he can turn on turret mode and his missile can be blocked on some terrain. Still a fun suit to use though
I wonder if part of it is the map. This map looks like a bad one for Stego from the footage. Combined with the counterpicks, it put you in a weird spot. I think Stego is going to shine in 3v3 and the pvpve mode. I'd love to see another Stego video on a more open map.
It's easier to deal on your damage on more open maps, but depending on the objective it can be pretty awkward for Stego if you need to move around a lot. I agree that it's probably going to be a beast in 3v3 though. I'm scared of the possible Tricera/Stego/Pinaka combo team already lol
I considered it, but I'm wondering if it might just be better to wait until the game releases since there's probably going to be a lot of changes before then.
Wow! Look at the vegetation being blown away due to the propulsion jets when the Striker strafes. 9:40 First time I notice that.
Seems like a lot of the Strikers, a good team makes this thing so strong.

Its basically bastion, can shred people but not that hard to counter

He got nerfed pretty bad coming into this beta unfortunately. I did still have a couple good games with him but it's a lot tougher than before.
Has anyone else not been able to play the game in the last few days?
The PC beta has ended now. Next beta is gonna be on Xbox later in the month.
